This happens if you keep holding on to your baby bottle when it is time for hard food...Isiah 40:31 Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles; They will run and not get tired; They will walk and not become weary.

hey Yet -- if you lived anywhere close to me, would you at least come with me to my homegroup?

no one ever mentions money, unless it is in a prayer request -- promise you'll never be asked to tithe, or even to bring food to share. we'll provide. we'd just love to be able to fellowship with you & study the Word together.

Wow!

How large is that homegroup, Posthuman?

That reminds me of those good days I was involved (and attending) to several of them in Caracas, as long I lived there, with these ppl who made my life different.

one is sometimes up to about 25 people! with around 10 small children that someone volunteers to watch while the rest of us talk; we are reading through Romans, usually spending about 2 hours a week on 6-10 verses at a time.
another is smaller, about 8-12, and we have been doing different things. we just finished a sort-of organized workbook study on prayer; i don't know what we will do next, probably just swim in someone's pool for a while over the summer.

no one ever asks for money. no one ever demands food. we all volunteer to bring things to eat every time we meet; we sing, we laugh, we study, we talk and sometimes we cry :)

i hope Yet maybe will join something like this? i hate to think of him alone all the time, never meeting with other believers - and i know organized church has at some point really left a sour taste in his mouth.

If you think you are lonely now just wait until you step out into a Christ-less eternity. Utter loneliness in outer darkness.

If you cannot love the brethren now how will you love them in eternity?

Wow! I see it laaaarge... And I myself felt the long to be there.

The groups that are my home town are pentecostals. Their doctrine is not what I believed (I´m not charismatic) and I´m alone like Yet...

I will pray for him! :)

I cannot answer for another person but, if that question were addressed to me, I know I have human limits to love ppl. In fact, if I received more than 7 invitations "to be friends" online, I myself feel unconfortable, limited (and falling short) becasue I cannot give attention to too many persons at the same time and, this, applies to love and those I considered "loved ones".

That was possible for king David who had 200 wifes and a bunch of concubines... My heart is limited to few ppl so, if any persons acknowledged her / his own limits, I know how my heart is within its human boundaries.

Yet would be welcomed at my church as lone as he behaved himself.
No fancy building, no suits and ties, and we NEVER take an offering.

Well! The moment "Quakers" assembled in bigger places or buildings, they start to plan a yearly budged, like the baptists.

What yearly budget?
This Landmark Baptist takes it one day at a time relying on God to provide.

Not only that, just about every bank was owned by Quakers in England. They continued to live under strict rules, not taking more than they needed, so the surplus cash they made went on the poor, building homes and other basic welfare.

Before I got saved I had a very limited capacity for love. Jesus changed that over a period of time.

The shear terror of even a single moment apart from God is almost too much to contemplate. I mean in the outer darkness of hell a sense of alone that one cannot experience here in this world. Chilling just to think about it.

One of the great things about heaven will be the fellowship of all the saints around the throne of God. Great joy and rejoicing.

We get to be face to face with Jesus Christ in heaven. To be honest, it gets to be a bit to big for my mind and I have to think about something different for a while!

Hmmm!

Thanks for saying that, sir.

I don´t mind to admit I fear increasing the gap I know when I loved, particularly when I know there´s a saying: "Love hurts" and I don´t want to be hurt and I´ve enjoyed loving (although with the turmoil of ruptures) and I don´t believe what others said ("...perfect love casts fears away...") (1Jn 4:18).
When a person loves, at least the way I think love is, no harmful thing is expected, and I have realized that our Lord, that One who was willing to come down here to set us free, was creepily betrayed (and hurt) disloyally.

I rather chose "baby steps" to love a few.

By the way! If loving is giving attention, care, etc. How could a single person share himself (or herself) having bunches of ppl around?

If I´m not enough to pay attention my own family (and their basic needs) how come will I pay attention of those around (who probably are more than a dozen of ppl).

I know my limits, and I know ppl also know they are limited (and terrified by those stumbling blocks they know as limits)

:(

Amen!

Jesus taught US to live a day after another , but I have seen how other ppl live (i.e.):

Texas Baptists - Church Finances

Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church - "THE ROCK": Budget Planning
That's the thing about us Landmark Baptist, each congregation is independent and goes its on way.
It is sad that some Baptist have adapted to the ways of the world.
Some wear the name Baptist an in no way are they really Baptist.
Please do not group Westboro Baptist Church with us.
They are not Baptist, they are a cult.
