Proverbs 11:2
When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
those passages are true, and should be headed, But that does not negate your misinterpreting the words of truth to support this idea we need to be humble servants, and not proud.

Every mountain and hill shall be made low....

Proverbs 29:23
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Jeremiah 49:16
Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the Lord.

you sure have that humility thing down pat.
Amen to that...Instead of just simply acknowledging the truth and his erroneous application of the verses in question, he will ride that out of context horse till it is dead......oh wait...it already is dead......

Isaiah 40:4-8
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
[SUP]7 [/SUP]The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

It sure looks like an allegory.

I always thought that the valleys and the mountain tops referred to our experiences with the Lord. In times of feeling as if you are far away from the Lord and your faith may be waning would be a valley(Humility). In times of feeling close to the Lord and receiving revelation and seeing provision and miracles would be a mountain(Pride).

Prideful people think that they are the cause behind what happens. They think if they do A then B will occur. But this is not the case. The Will of God determines both A and B. The humble know this, probably because they have been humbled by God and His Will.

Not an insult and for being such a spiritual giant you are easily offended which is a sure sign of spiritual immaturity....look the truth is simple....you posted verses that have nothing to do with how you applied them, got nailed on it by numerous people who study as well and you consistently fail to simply acknowledge that you are wrong on a few things which is the epitome of the very point of your post......

I still have a problem with all flesh shall see an allegory (pride destroyed and humility exalted)

as for 6 - 8, I see it as a truth, people will come and go. but Gods word will stand forever.

Read verse three and then go to Matthew 3:1-3....the context is clear....the application is clear.....

ISIT, you seem far more concerned with whether you are being insulted than you do with defending your OP. Isn't that, in and of itself, a bit telling?

1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
