Sounds like a few people on this site!
That is just so. Here, they're God's special creatures, sitting in judgement on all the rest of Christendom, with their whack-a-doodle religion of their impotent god, with his tenuous salvation, who requires doubt of his followers. But trolling isn't much of a paycheck. At least Creflo isn't that stupid, has a purpose.

Jesus told the rich young ruler to sell all that He had, give it to the poor, and follow Jesus. If Jesus was rich materially what does that make Jesus?

Cults usually have psychopathic, control freak leaders, and also shear the sheep for funding. There's always some lying doctrine involved, as they need a "product exclusive" to ensure having loyal customers: you can't get what they're peddling anywhere else. On purpose. A product exclusive is just "good business," to create a flock of chosen few, legends in their own minds. It tickles ears, appeals to egos. That's what that apostate comment of Dollar was about, denigrating the deity of the Lord Jesus. Notice how he went on to say all the other churches have it wrong? That was no casual comment. If people buy that, he has them hooked, clearly trying to plant the seed he has some lease on truth, which is always a lie.
What's so insane is Hubbard's son completly denounced him.

It's just transparent they're trying to rationalize conspicuous consumption and shearing the sheep, assured most their flock will never even wonder how they got that novel out of Judas' bag, and none likely up on scripture to know the contradictions. I think it's such a lame explanation, that flies in the face of scripture truth, am always wondering how people can buy it all.

Oral Roberts' son, Richard, didn't want to have anything to do with the ministry, wanted to make his own life. Oral said something like he got a vision from the Lord that Richard would die in a plane crash, if he didn't carry on the ministry. Nice, eh?

Despicable. Oral wanted to build that high-rise hospital of his. When he was fundraising, he said he saw a giant Jesus, big as a skyscraper, who told him to build it that high.

You can't argue with a guy that says "Jesus told me"....now can you? That's just being hateful and judgmental.

And with all the God told me this, God told me that going around, you'd think there would more than ample burning bushes to landscape with. I've always wanted to ask some of these guys who do first person conversation with the Almighty what form that comes in? Here's why. Burning bush or audible voice, preferably with a lot of light, fine. But voices in the head? I don't know about you, but Captain Crunch talks to me that way.

I like crunch berries too! They are loud when you chew. I have to turn the tv way up loud.

I have seen attacks like Joshua before, by people who say, we are not so bad, we are the same as those guys over there, so leave us alone.

The idea is to appear as being reasonable, silence the obvious flaws and failures of the critics, and then say everything is fine. That is the strategy of the hypocrites, the white washed tomb pushers.

Look at the spiritual problem. Neck deep in legalism, to be set free by a real experience with Jesus which breaks free into ones emotional core of love. Oh everything of legalism must be wrong and everything of the Spirit must be right.

So the pendulum swings to the extreme, people behave to their own defined view of spiritual authority, but then you start to see the failure. How can you admit this side is equally flawed by human nature, by the wrong emphasis, by imputing on God things of the flesh. Is it denying the Lord, or waking up to the reality things are more difficult that you first thought.

We are surrounded by good fruit and tares. We are commanded to love, to empathise, to be salt and light. It is the hardest walk any of us can do, because it is us who must walk, not some possessed being in a drunken stupor.

There is good reason why emotional outpourings often lead to chaos, because it must be in hand with truth and order, while truth and order without emotion and reality is also dead.

The way these super spirituals talk the orphan or widow is empty while the rich indulgent self obsessed preacher in their most expensive suit possible is the person you should listen to and admire. You choose who Jesus really supported?

I'm glad you like that one Chica. I thought it was kinda funny too. Me and my kids have this thing we do where we just say nonsensical things like that and we end up with lots of laughs. I figure it's good for their creativity, language skills and imagination. :)
When you first said it I thought I was gonna pass out laughing! I called my husband into the computer room and explained why you had sad it and then I said it to him and he got a big kick out of it.

Sometimes there is nothing that can really be said with the idiotic things some people say, it's perfect nonsense for perfect nonsense.

Auh that is so sweet, sounds like you are a good dad. I remember you talking about your son that is autistic. Since I don't know what level he is I'm gonna assume that he doesn't understand the gospel, but, you know what I believe with my whole heart that since he has believing parents, that baby is going to heaven.

I once put together a collection of verses that go to social justice, back in times when politicians and pundits were invoking Jesus, as proven by material blessing, proof God is with the rich. Doesn't turn out so in scripture! There's a picture of a God quite at odds with exploitation, oppression and poverty, that I'd not like to meet, having a mansion on every continent, no Sireee!

Talk about coercion to the max!

Robert Schuller's son wanted to preach a more gospel oriented sermon in the Chrystal Cathedral and Schuller said no, he wanted it to stay the way he was doing it (basically psycho babble). His son left and started his own church.

You'd think that people would want to really look into eternal issues, though, find out for themselves what's in the Bible. It seems more like a lot of people want somebody to kill their guilty consciences and sanction their lusts, avoid any real confrontation with truth.

This is just what hub and i were talking about. Yeah i get people getting confirtable in church, in their sin, and even in service. But what about getting really serious about recongnizing sin, and actually repenting....james 4:7-8, i mean if we all ACTUALLY were seriuos about learning, growing, and wait for it...........repenting...i think we'd see some revival.

Living in a glass house, Schuller couldn't afford that! It would have been more fitting, if the congregation's seating were sofas. "Now, would you open your Bibles to the book of Freud, where we will read one half of a verse."
