Then why are you defending false teachers instead of the word of God? Why are you treating these lying con artists like they are infallible? Why did you yourself accept a twisting of the word of God earlier?
I defend what is right and people who preach the truth of the gospel.

Why do you malign people and call them names? You have no clue about them. Are you speaking with a righteous tongue?

I never accept the twisting of the word. Methinks that you may not know the word as well as you think you do.

You are unaware, apparently that we are to continually be filled with the Spirit of God, and also seem to be bereft of understanding of how the Body of Christ is given gifts to operate in this world for the cause of Christ. Read the word about the spiritual gifts and abilities that every member of the Body of Christ is given. Look it up.

Scripture supports all of what I am saying.

As a spiritual infant, you will need to be taught on matters such as the spiritual gifts, repentance and in general: God's great grace. Jesus' great commission is being thwarted by poor attitudes such as yours.

Do a little soul-searching and see for yourself with the help of Holy Spirit, that you and some of these other mockers here are unfair and rather mean-spirited toward sisters and brothers in Christ. It seems to be a new sport.

Is it ANY of your business what kind of income these ministries make, and that they pour most of it right back into the ministry, and to people in need of actual physical and spiritual help? You are so unaware, and in that unawareness, you sin.
I seriously doubt that I sin by exposing scavengers and charlatans, "Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake". Titus 1:11

You sin against the god of creflo dollar, joyce meyer, and joel osteen when you do that; the dollar. By exposing their lies, you sin against their pocketbooks and thus against their god the dollar.

This is a question for you, and everybody, and one I'd like to just bow out and see what people willing to answer this have to say.

When you look at any so-called Christians, living in obscenely conspicuous consumption, do you see anything wrong with this, and, if so, what? (Or just say you don't see anything wrong with it, then, all honest answers appreciated, whether agreeable, or not.)

JesusIsAll, In answer to your question about looking at other Christians... To be quite clear about this, I have been making it a practice not to be looking at other Christians. Instead the Bible says to keep looking at Jesus. The Bible tells us to stop comparing ourselves amoung ourselves because that is foolish. We are not to wonder why someone got something we did not (be it riches or sickness) We are to look to our relationship with the Lord and what He requires of us.

For instance, looking at people who are rich and then trying to figure out why they got more than us; that brings envy and strife to the heart (like we see in this thread) It takes our eyes off of Christ and puts it on people and ourselves.

Then, if we look at others who died or are ill, we become fearful and distrustful of our Lord who promises to take care of us and this brings with it doubt and lack of faith. That sort of thinking gets our minds and hearts off of Jesus Christ who we are constantly admonished in the Bible to keep looking to.

The Bible admonishes us to keep looking to Jesus for a reason. This world is not where OUR answers are found.. Our answer is in Christ and we have already been told that in His Word. As new covenant believers in Christ, while we are living in the world's system that is based on meritocracy, we have a supernatural advantage because we have the unmerited favor of Jesus. But sad to say, many believers do not know who they are in Christ and continue to see like the world sees and live like they live.

1 Cor. 1:26 Not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. The world looks favorably upon the wise mighty and noble but God is not impressed. He has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.

God has chosen the foolish and weak things to qualify for His abundant blessings. But they don't remain foolish and weak. Instead by God's unmerited favor, they will put to shame the so-called wise and mighty things in this world. In His hands of grace., we become useful for His kingdom.

Amazing to see kool-aid drinkers like Nancy ignore the Bible and stick up for their false teacher idols.

It is absolutely necessary that we Christians use biblical discernment when supporting any preacher and/or teacher of the gospel. It is irrelevant whether or not we like the person, think the person is a good speaker, or if the person says things that are uplifting. Instead, we must be as noble as the Bereans.

  • "Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were so," (Acts 17:11).
  • "Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that in us you might learn not to exceed what is written, in order that no one of you might become arrogant in behalf of one against the other," (1 Cor. 4:6).

  • Jesus stopped being the Son of God: "He could have helped himself up until the point where he said I commend my spirit into your hands, at that point he couldn’t do nothing for himself anymore. He had become sin, he was no longer the Son of God. He was sin."(http://storage.carm.org/joycemeyer/joyce-meyer-Jesus-became-sin-stopped-being-son-of-God.mp3)
    • Response: This is heresy. Jesus did not ever stop becoming the son of God. Essentially what she is saying is that Jesus stopped being divine, the eternal son, second person of the Trinity. This is an attack on the very nature of Christ and it is a dangerous false teaching. Joyce Meyer needs to repent and retract this statement. There is no place in Scripture that says Jesus stopped being the son of God. She's adding to the word of God and placing in the hearts and minds of listeners false doctrine.

  • We are called little gods: "I was listening to a set of tapes by one man and he explained it like this..this kind of gets the point across...he said why do people have such a fit about God calling his creation, his creation, his man not his whole creation, but his man, little gods? If he's God what's he going to call them but the God kind? I mean if you as a human being have a baby you call it a human kind. If if [sic] cattle has another cattle they call it cattle kind. I mean what is God supposed to call 'em? Doesn't the Bible say we are created in his image? Now you understand I am not saying you are god with a capital G. That is not the issue here so don't go trying to stone me or yell blasphemy at me." "The Bible says right here John 10:34...'and Jesus answered is it not written in your law I say we are gods.' So men are called god's by the law..."(Joyce Meyer). (www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrP3OLCH9GI&feature=related)
    • Response: In this clip she goes on to quote John 10:34where Jesus says to the Pharisees "you are gods," which is a quote from Psalm 82:6, which is an imprecatory Psalm of condemnation for the unrighteous judges. Psalm 82:7 says, nevertheless you will die like men. She then turned to Psalm 82 and went through it. The video stopped so I do not know what she would have said about the next, all important verse.

  • Joyce Meyer said she is not a sinner: "I am not poor. I am not miserable and I am not a sinner. That is a lie from the pit of hell. That is what I were and if I still was then Jesus died in vain. I'm going to tell you something folks. I didn't stop sinning until I finally got it through my thick head I wasn't a sinner anymore. And the religious world thinks that's heresy and they want to hang you for it. But the Bible says that I am righteous and I can't be righteous and be a sinner at the same time." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dmHJdM63hk)
    • Response: Mrs. Meyer needs a lesson in basic Bible. 1 John 1:8 says, "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Notice that John the apostle says "we." He is including himself with sinners. Also, Paul said in Rom. 7:19-20,24, "For the good that I wish, I do not do; but I practice the very evil that I do not wish. 20 But if I am doing the very thing I do not wish, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me...24 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?" Is Joyce Meyer better in Christian character than John and Paul? I think not. Mrs. Meyer fails to recognize her own sinfulness, and so mistakenly denies her own sinfulness. I can only conclude that this false teaching comes from pride because it certainly isn't biblical.

Benny Hinn

According to a June article in The Dallas Morning News, shortly after Hinn announced his move to Texas, he said God had told him to build a "World Healing Center," and Hinn appealed for money. As much as $30 million was collected but, apparently God changed His mind since the center was never built.

In April 2000, Hinn told Trinity Broadcasting Network's Paul Crouch, "I'm putting all the money we have in the ministry to get out there and preach. The day (to build the healing center) will come. I'm in no hurry; neither is God."

When the NBC Dateline team checked in Mexico, more than a year-and-a-half later, they
could find no sign of any construction. But the Hinn web site kept promising that construction would be finished in, “a few short months.” That was news to the local official in charge of construction in the town, who told us the Hinn ministry hadn’t even been issued a building permit yet.

What we did find, however, was this sign — curiously not in Spanish, but English — attached to a house the ministry called it’s ‘temporary orphanage,’ which appeared to be empty. The Hinn Web site continued to solicit donations”. [54]

Benn Hinn’s 2 Min Blessing

A July 2008 article by reporter Marthinus van Vuuren in news24.com, a South African News Web site, entitled 'God bless your credit card', said

One of Hinn's American guest speakers, Pastor Todd Koontz, Koontz delivered a message about "you reap what you sow", then said the service would yield millionaires and billionaires within 24 hours.

“God's blessing would last only two minutes and it would create 500 churchgoing millionaires or even billionaires - all they had to do was use their credit cards to pay $1000 in offerings to televangelist Benny Hinn”.

Why specifically $1 000? Because
" an exceptional blessing rested on $1 000."

“God would bless the people's credit cards and they would be able to rule over South Africa with their money” and that 500 audience members would receive "an exceptional blessing".

Koontz apparently really had the congregation scrambling when he said, "This blessing will be poured out for only two minutes." [56]

  • Joyce Meyer gets revelation knowledge: “The Bible can’t even find any way to explain this. Not really that is why you have got to get it by revelation. There are no words to explain what I am telling you. I have got to just trust God that he is putting it into your spirit like he put it into mine.” (http://storage.carm.org/audio/joycemeyer/joyce-meyer-revelation-knowledge.mp3)
    • Response: Revelation knowledge? Is she on par with the apostles who received revelation knowledge from God himself? Or how about the Old Testament prophets? Does she, like them, also receive revelation knowledge from God? If so, how would we know if it were true or not? The answer is simple: we test what she says against Scripture, and it is obvious that she is getting a lot of things from somewhere else that contradict the word of God.

Does anyone in this thread have an anointing that I am criticizing? Hardly. I am only speaking to the error they are making in their mischaracterization of known saints, and the near profane speech against how God works in the lives and minisitries of people who do things according to His will.
Somebody's got to speak up.
I am only speaking to the error they are making in their mischaracterization of known saints,
Mischarterization of known saints? Since the word "saint" means "believer", we're all saints that believe in Jesus.
