You guys need to know that each time a televangelists name is brought up, the thread will get evil, cause people want to say they're false teachers and all. That's what you have to learn.

How is it evil to call out false teachers?
 
Envy, the oldest sin, committed by Lucifer himself, is the root of pretty much all sin, and its glaring root is right here in this very thread from the OP onward.

No, I don't think I know it all. I just wanted to be transparent with you regarding my stance. I wanted you to know that I was not unschooled in some of these ideas, but that my intent was to know YOU as a person and to understand your thinking on this matter.

It's evil to slander people with the label of false teacher when those who do the accusing have all manner of falseness and a heap of error themselves.

Jesus talks about that kind of judging as something we need to stay clear of. It's called hypocritical judgment. It's source is a bitter, self-seeking heart.

Don't forget Joyce Meyer's house, a 10,000-square-foot Cape Cod style estate home with a guest house and a garage that can be independently heated and cooled and can hold up to eight cars.

As ive shown with biblical references, they ARE false teachers. You have yet to back up your claims biblically

I can agree totally that the Word of God is truth! It's just that these WoF false teachers are not teaching it! They are adding to the revelation of the Bible. They are taking away by ignoring verses on suffering, and developing character through suffering. The sad truth is, the WoF teachers do not know the whole counsel of God. They don't know the original languages. They don't know hermeneutic, or Bible interpretation. They are liars, cons and cheats.

And the really sad thing is, they blaspheme the Holy Spirit by saying they are revealing or teaching under the "annointing" of the Spirit. And people are naive enough to believe them.

Over and over the Bible warns us to beware of false teachers. It was a major issue for the early church, which is why the apostles wrote this over and over. In those days, most people did not have access to the Bible, maybe only part or fragments of certain books. But there is no excuse today. We not only have Bibles, but all the tools, commentaries and books to rightly discern the Word of God.

As long as you judge these conmen by the size of their congregations, and the amount of money being donated by people that probably cannot afford to give what they are giving, and not by the Word of God, you are going to be led astray. You justify over and over that the size of the congregations validates the WoF movement, instead of it standing up to scrutiny based on the Word of God.

I took a course in Seminary a few years ago. One woman was there for her first class. She testified that they had gotten sucked into the WoF movement and that when a certain preacher started guilting the crowd for money they felt "led" to donate $50,000, their entire savings. She admitted that the appeal was the preacher said this "seed money" would be returned 100 fold.

Well, they got nothing back in return, and they left the WoF churches and she and her husband were coming to a Baptist seminary to learn what God really says in his Word about money, health, etc. I admire her honesty in admitting what a terrible mistake they had made in believing the lies of the WoF false preacher.

I pray that one day, God will enlighten the minds of those who are so deeply caught in this idolatrous and false cult.

So what? If I earned millions by authoring books that landed on the best sellers lists, I'd have a great home, too! God 's blessing is always good! It isn't evil to have wealth, but it is evil for wealth to have you. But now what is evil also is the wagging tongues and the pointing of bony fingers against the people of God whom God is blessing. Get over it and start being a blessing to Him here. You and your pals give me a bad taste in my mouth...and the Spirit is grieved by it.

What gospel is it, that turns people into spit? The ministers of it are in the OP, to whit,

Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

It's all there, prophesied ages ago, but it takes eyes to see these truths that are clear, in no uncertain terms. Just this whole ethic of conspicuous, carnal consumption is completely counter-Christian, of the world, the flesh and the devil. This is not the true church or the true ministers of the New Testament, with their con man pitches not found in scripture. People are simply deceived.

    • Response: Mrs. Meyer needs a lesson in basic Bible. 1 John 1:8 says, "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Notice that John the apostle says "we." He is including himself with sinners. Also, Paul said in Rom. 7:19-20,24, "For the good that I wish, I do not do; but I practice the very evil that I do not wish. 20 But if I am doing the very thing I do not wish, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me...24 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?" Is Joyce Meyer better in Christian character than John and Paul? I think not. Mrs. Meyer fails to recognize her own sinfulness, and so mistakenly denies her own sinfulness. I can only conclude that this false teaching comes from pride because it certainly isn't biblical.
 
Christians are not referred to as sinners in scripture. We are saints. God doesn't see us as sinners, but as pure and holy righteous ones. You need to see yourself the way God sees you. It will free you up.

This acceptance of ourselves as God sees us has NOTHING to do with declaring oneself as sinless or not having sinned. It has to do with the position we now have in Christ. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! Don't fight God in this. Stop holding to false humility. He wants to bless us and free us from self-condemnation. Using 1 John 1:8 in the way you have only proves you do not understand scripture through the Holy Spirit, but through your cerebellum.
