So we got a new Huckster of the Word. I had never heard of that name. I see nothing has Changed, among the Religious Con-Artists. Why do people fall for those kind of scams? One Word describes it: GREED.

Want to know how to identify a Religious Con-Artist; they are the OPPOSITE of what Paul and the other Disciples were like:

2 Corinthians 2:17 (NIV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God.
Creflo's been around for quite awhile, but it must be a good thing you've managed to avoid where he appears. He's actually quite cunning, does the angel of light thing well sometimes. Big and bright red in your quote is what's always been astounding to me, many of the world looking at hucksters and seeing what they are, as an excuse why Christians are idiots, but the body of Christ lacking this discernment? Despite a clearly different church and ministry in scripture? Despite an entire ethic the opposite, and, what's more, warnings of Laodiceans? Mercy! All these dogs that just don't hunt...

I see a trend here on this thread and others.

I see more Bible verses being used by the defenders than the hit squads.

The hit squad has only posted out of date you tube vids and CARM docs and the opinions of other hit squad folks, who they closely align with theologically and doctrinally that tickle their ears. If the hit squad does post a verse or 2 it is usually out of context or a cherry picked single verse they learned while their hit squad pastor was giving them the weekly 3 point sermonette for christianettes.

It could be possible they learned the verse in the weekly fill in the blanks notes provided to them on their weekly bulletin, or through the fill in the blank Sunday School or Wed night discipleship class, while munching on diet cookies and skim milk.

One thing is for certain, if a defender corrects them from using a verse like I did with JesusisALL and his use of 2 John 1.10, which has no application for testing a false teacher, only a gnostic with the spirit of antichrist. That correction is ignored and then a cute phrase is posted in response like, "post something of value and I will respond" or "I do not need to read your lame reply"

The Hit squad then as to rely on posting cute pics and then break their arms off patting each other on the back for being such true defenders of the faith. The hit squad then mock the defenders for being such fools, and profess themselves to be so wise, because in their carnal wisdom they know who is a false profit.

They boast of the gift of Bible knowledge they have think they have. They must resort to attacks, tirades and cute comments, because at the end of the day it is all they got, because they do not have the Word hidden in their heart. To keep up appearance of being in the Word they lash out all the more, when confronted by a defender that goes deeper in the Word.

The Bible says out of the abundance of the heart , the mouth speaks and speak whatever is truly in the heart.

The Bible also says the this about the hit squad:
Like clouds and wind without rain
Is a man who boastsof his gifts falsely.

Most would stop right there and begin to ignore the hit squad, but I see another trend.

The defenders attempting to speak life into the hit squad. Who deep down and in places they do not disclose to others, that place where pain, frustration, anger, hurt, offense and bitterness reside. That place where the hit squad is questioning: why is there not more to this walk, why is there no victory, why is it so hard to perform this walk for Jesus, how come I am doing everything I am told to in the Bible and I see no fruit manifest. The Word of Life cannot compute to the hit squad and pride of life chokes out the attempt.

The conclusion to this trend is this:

The hit squad's christian walk is a product of what they do.

The defenders walk with Jesus is a product of what they believe.

Being a son and daughter of God is not based on what you do, it is based entirely on what you believe. Belief is either influenced by those around you or by standing alone and not staggering/waiving or being influenced by others on the promises of God, through his Word.

If you hang with other believers that state they are just a poor sinner saved by grace, then you will believe you are a sinner saved by grace.

If you hang with Jesus and his Word says you were made righteous through HIM, then you will believe your are righteous before a Holy God.

If you hang with believers that pet any condition you are in or worse tell you that condition is God's best for you right now, and just be quiet and accept it, you will remain in that condition.

If you believe the Word, and do what blind Bartimaeus did and will not be silenced/influenced by others and you will be heard by the great physician when he passes by and he will answer you and you will be delivered of the condition.

I am not a defender of Joyce, Creflo, Paula, Benny, Ken & Gloria.

I am a defender of God's word and if he said it, that settles it.

I find it ironical that this long post does not contain one single Bible verse. I think Jesus put it this way:

"And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” John 8:7

It is always my goal to try and post Bible verses, as I have continued to do in this thread. I even got into the Greek in several of them. One time confirming something another poster said, who would not even acknowledge I agreed with her that we are to be continually fillled with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18)

As for one side not posting Bible verses, I am still waiting for Nancy to post a verse that has the "Baptism of the Holy Spirit" in it. Of course, she won't because it is not in the Bible. If you want to complain about someone not posting verses, she would be the one to complain about, since we literally begged her to produce Scriptural evidence for her doctrine for pages. Another person, from the WoF movement posted lots of Scriptures to support his doctrine. Sadly, many were torn out of context, but I give him kudos for trying!

Oh! Right! I read some of this, but it escaped me. John the Baptist even referred to Christ, who would baptize in the Holy Spirit, which believers indeed receive. What is the controversy, if anybody can put it in a few words that aren't trouble to them? Is somebody claiming some ongoing procedure such, or you have to be smacked on the head by Benny Hinn or something, as baptism in the Spirit of Christ is Biblical, so I'm confused what people are talking about! I've yet to read everything in this thread, my own, sorry, but there was some bitterness that got me paging down, and I don't usually do the long dissertation posts, after hitting on some lie.

There are probably a gazillion people who believe they're saved because they went to thus and such church with their family, and/or believe they're good people in the balance. Dust on the Bible? Not a problem.
Yeah, and just becasue you were born into a Christian family doesn't automatically make you a Christian. Isn't that kinda like guilt by association?

I suppose that would be! Not exactly sound thinking, you're pointing out. Good catch!

I'm still wondering what's going on with baptism of the Holy Spirit. You guys are just cruel, if you expect me to read every page of this monster I have created, all the War and Peace of philosophy and spaghetti exegesis, all the while trying to claim mo stuff. You're almost sadistic!

Heavens no! Angela is great. But some others I won't name, and I don't read everything everybody posts, when somebody has a dark agenda or propagating error, starts filling multiple screens with blather, so it appears I missed the gist of a controversy, probably from somebody going on I didn't wish to read all of, but neither so curious to read every word, of every page of this thread, especially those who ramble on of their own philosophies in a Bible forum. In other words, I missed something that ran up a flag with Angela, as I read all of her posts, but not always all of what she is replying to. Actually, I get most of what's going on with people I more ignore by quotes of theirs, in posters I do read. Also, I don't always have the time to pursue things, at the time they're going on.

OK, it could be that we are dealing with semantis. I looked at a ton of scripture dealing with baptism and the Holy Ghost. I didn't find any that said "Baptism "of" the Holy Ghost" what seems to be the norm is being "Baptized "with" the Holy Ghost.

Does that help?

Angela is good about supplying what the other person said, so it is easy to follow what she is saying.

This completely escaped me. So we're in the throws of a "with" versus "of" (now "in") conundrum? Is this all you guys got? Here I'd thought it would be like the O.K. Corral, was fixing to get popcorn. We know it's "with," then, but what is the furthermore? The apocalyptic ramifications o'er the pronouns? Gimme some furthermore! 'N mo stuff!

This isn't fair. No, it's not a burden, unless I wish to make it so. People fill threads with all sorts of stuff, but I don't think you can expect it's the case the OP person should, thereafter, indulge in each bickerfest or error harangue or derailing. Just because I post a thread does not mean I'm going to get immersed in trollish vicious circles, and you've no right to put that upon me. Leave if you like, but I should also have that prerogative, you think? Actually, much around here is evil offensive and worth weighing the Godly worth of.

You got worse problems that gettin mo stuff, someone is deleting and changing posts I said "Baptism "in" the Holy ghost and somehow it got changed to "of" instead of "in". I don't apprecaite having my posts changed by some little gremlin behind the scenes and it was done quickly just after I posted!

LadyLynn, I won't use the "reply with quote" button to rebut your quote from the false WoF teacher, Joseph Prince. But I will give you a link to read.

The End Time: Why there are so many false prophets?

He misuses the word "repent" to say it is "changing from negative thinking" instead of turning from your sin. For someone to say that is to condemn them to not knowing the gospel.

"Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out," Acts 3:19

When I read things like this, it is no wonder I get so upset about such an evil and twisted movement that these false teachers are building, and I have to shake my head at people who fall for these unbiblical lies!

Romans 5:8-9 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath through Him.

He did this when we were still sinners. How much MORE when you have been cleansed by Jesus blood and made righteous! Having received His righteousness, you are righteous forever. Even when you fall into sin, your sins don't make you a sinner again. We live under a new covenant. There is nothing un biblical about that Angela.

"For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace" When we sin, we are convicted of our righteousness in Christ and our minds are renewed in that truth. Many Christians think repentance is beating yourself up and crying putting on sackcloth and ashes...sorrow does not equal transformation Angela, it is right believing (a change of mind) that is true repentance. It's not our emotional reactions, it's a change of mind that changes our lives. The Bible tells us to have our minds renewed daily. Nothing evil about that, nothing twisted or false about that. You have a pre conceived notion about much of the teaching about Grace.
