I'm looking down the list of topics on this board. We've got your OSAS haters, your OSAS advocates, your various groups on the issue of Genesis, End Times discussions, sick and poor debate, can't leave home without at least one Sabbath debate, a couple of TV evangelist threads, someone briefly popped in to start the homosexuals-ain't-wrong agenda, and even though he's been banned it's still going on, and pages of pages of debate over someone simply wanted to publicly ask for forgiveness, so I need to check. Does anyone remember we're supposed to be here for one common reason -- God?

It seems like so many variations of prove-a-point, I'm just seeing how many others remember the one and only point we are supposed to be agreeing about is God. So many side issues. How about the main issue? What happened to glorifying God? Remember him? He's supposed to be all of our hero, so why so little focus on our hero?

There is this guy on this board who is checking out the Bible for the first time. He's actually going to read it all the way through, just to check out God. Notice what else he's checking out because he's on this board? Eeeek! Kind of like showing my dirty undies in public feeling.

(And just to be clear, I'm not guiltless. Look how new I am and how many posts I've made. This is not an un-opinionated woman talking and I get that! So don't think I'm sticking my nose up in the air. It's too big to get velocity to raise it up. lol I'm just saying this feels like a swamp and I forget if there is any solid ground anymore. Isn't he our solid ground, and aren't we supposed to be aiming for him? How do we aim, if we can't even keep him in our site?)

And, if you get defensive. Just don't. I'm defensive too, because I've contributed too much. No need to get your back against the wall. Most of us are doing the same thing. If you need your back against a wall, join us. It's a long wall! Sturdy too, so it won't fall on our weight. (Or maybe it will but that's a good thing.)

But honestly, if you start with another, "Yeah look what others are doing" again, I'm rectifying my pea shooter and pulling out a ream of paper for spitballs.

So what fixes this? God! Remember he IS our purpose!

It's a Christian site. We simply forget our focus too often.

I think We'll allbe surprised who we see in heaven.
We all get so passionate about what we believe when we think we're right. Oh what pride.
Good thread

Well I'm a Christian and I've heard our Shepard’s voice here quite a bit, I think you are just simply confusing the “RCC only” with Christian, and I know that I personally have reached out to you multiple times in love with no other agenda than to learn about your walk with Christ, and been ignored after the first time when you answered and said you'd hit me up later and never did. I don't really think there's any way you can logically back up that claim. I have met quite a few brothers and sisters here. I would still like to hear from you though so hit me up anytime.

you are invited to participate in my 'torah study' thread that i started a few days ago...it is intended to be -completely- about God and there is no contention allowed!

http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/115631-torah-study.html
I saw it when you started, and I was tempted. You know those folks that can multitask? I'm not one of them. lol

I just started Numbers last week, and if I go back to Genesis (yup, decided to read the Bible in regular order, but it's slow, since I started in Genesis March 2014, and I'm still only on Numbers lol), I'll get all mixed up again. (I'm trying to figure out how Levi fit into Jacob's family, because I can't remember birth order, but if I go back to find out, then I'll end up getting stuck on when God told people something, and...) well, I'm really not a multitasker, and do have some mental/memory issues, so it would just add to my confusion. BUT, when you get to Numbers, let me know. I suspect you'll catch up with me quickly -- comparatively. lol

I am taking this long because I'm reading a bunch of commentators too, because I do want to understand as much as possible.

So, thanks for the offer, and remember me when you hit Numbers. :D

I think you are right....We forget that we all need to keep our eyes on Jesus/God and keep them off other people. It would be so nice if we could discuss and not get backed into a corner and it turns into a debate of who is right and who is wrong....

Jesus is our leader and we should all model our lives after His life....the poor, sick and needy ones He always was kind to. It was the legalistic religious leaders that He had issues with. Love is the answer and God is Love......

Its not catholic, thats why he claims it is Ohnot Christian.
Oh its not that. I just go through the threads and see how so-called Christians treat each other and see how I've been treated to come to that conclusion

I would have to admit myself that your conclusion is not completely unwarranted.

Lynn,

We tend to provide scriptures that support our own beliefs, and neglect the scriptures provide by others to support theirs, or just insult those who do not believe as we do. I believe that we have forgotten what Jesus taught in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20), especially the last verse. Maybe each of us should take some to actually understand what He meant when he said "all things".

Does God like ya? Works for me. If ya gotta, please join us up on the defensive wall. Plenty of room and plenty of us feeling the cold brick against our back. Doesn't mean squat, if God likes us!

That's why we need to focus on love God fully and love others fully. Otherwise, we're forever stuck seeing how others treat us. It's circular. Love God fully, love others fully, and then, whoa, others will love right back. Not always, but more often then love self fully.

Have we forgotten that the tares grow along with the wheat in the body of Christ? It will always be so.... and that doesn't make it any less the body of Christ.

There are also many levels of spiritual maturity revealed here. And many different things happening to all of us each day. There are some struggling days I just want to talk about myself - some days I love to jump on a sarcastic thread where we lovingly "pick" on each other because I need a laugh. And there are those other days when I'm absorbed with God things.

I love the variety of personalities here - never boring. Hey, even the tares keep me on track for what is truth.

There really is a thread for everyone for whatever kind of day they are going through. AtWhatCost, I really enjoy the way you can ramble and yet bring out some good points. Because there is humor in how you present truth.

But here I go, talking about you and not God (sigh).

I get that -- especially how I ramble. lol It's not that, it's the anger I hate. Oh, and the focus on prove-a-point.
