Well you would be completely wrong my friend, which is why I said you know absolutely nothing about depression.....

Here you are still debating with a person who know the truth about depression because I have experienced it first hand.
You want to always be right but I am sorry in this case you are wrong, very very very wrong !!!
Seeing people go thru depression is not the same as experiencing it yourself. All I ask is that you keep an open mind to the possibility with Scripture that may say otherwise.

Yes, we would need Post #'s for you to actually prove this.
We just talked about it an hour ago.
Now Jason, you're starting to act a bit childish. "Show me the posts" knowing very well that you have claimed we can occasionally sin and still be saved.

You teach that one can not sin and still be saved.....thats hypocrisy.
You say that we can not sin as a believer and than later state we can on occasion.......a liar.

Like l said , you're slipping, man. I don't even think you believe what you preach anymore?
Oh no, man, how can you push what you teach anymore, when we have multiple posts saying that YOU don't even believe it.

You know its the truth.

Lots of folks can cry to get attention or to deceive others...
Depression is not a choice !!!

My wife has depression and she has no need to try and get attention because we spend tones of time together, as well do we have a little girl that she gives and gets ton of attention from as well. She at times breaks down and starts crying for no reason, and they are not tears of joys that is being done when this happens.

Calling depression a choice is sickening, and saying that only comes from ignorant people who know nothing about the disease besides what they have read from a very bad site. Unless you have experienced somebody who has this disorder please do not speak because I have seen it first hand and by multiple people...........

I do keep an open mind Jason, and experiencing my wife with depression as well as other family members who have it as well.

I absolutely know with no doubt it is not a choice, your source is badly wrong and if you believe in what it says then you are badly wrong to.

Kenneth...I did not say any of those things!

It is clear that crying is often a way to manipulate others, that was my only point.

Well sorry if I mistook what you were trying to say.
Jason has me very upset right now because he believes depression is a choice, and gave an article from Junk Science.

I don't care what Junk Science says as I live with my wife everyday who suffers from depression, and it is clearly not a choice....

I battle depression. Have since I was 14. And I don't choose it.
It amazes me that people can see the body and accept that things go wrong and it become sick and not function properly, but these same people can look at the brain (physical as well) and deny that it can break down and not function right, the same as the rest of the body.

I promise Jason, the next time you beat that whole "You can't sin and still be saved" junk, l won't come up behind you and show that you do indeed believe it.

Much.

You can't push it anymore. We have too many posts by you that say that you don't even believe it anymore.

Have a good day.

Uh, no. You misunderstand. Those saints in the Bible who have sinned did not do so with the thinking they were saved while sinning. Those believers who had on occasion sinned: Well, they confessed and forsaked their sin in order to have continued grace and forgiveness. For in Psalm 51, when David confessed of his sin to God he asked the Lord not to take His Holy Spirit from him. Also, nowhere did I ever say that believers in the New Testament will be slaves to their sin for the rest of their lives (even if they did struggle with sin for a time). 1 Peter 4:1 says they that have suffered in the flesh have ceased from sin. Paul says they that are Christ's have crucified the affections and lusts. For sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14). For Jesus Christ was manifested to destroy the works fo the devil (1 John 3:8). The works of the devil would be sin a believer's life.

You teach that one can not sin and still be saved.....thats hypocrisy.
I am referring to two wrong atttudes and beliefs about sin.

(a) Those who think they are automatically forgiven of sin, so there is no need to confess sin so as to be forgiven of it.
(b) Those who think they will forever be a slave to their sin and that it is impossible to stop sinning.

You say that we can not sin as a believer and than later state we can on occasion.......a liar.
No. It is a misunderstanding on your part of not understanding what I believe the Scriptures teach.

Like l said , you're slipping, man. I don't even think you believe what you preach anymore?
Yes, I still believe what I preach. So no. You would be wrong.

Oh no, man, how can you push what you teach anymore, when we have multiple posts saying that YOU don't even believe it.

You know its the truth.
Jesus is the way the TRUTH and the life. He is a Truth that effects one's mind, heart, and soul in all they think say, and do.

Thank you for giving your testimony on here about depression.
I mentioned how my wife has it as well and we can be sitting here watching a comedy on TV, and nothing going on to cause the reaction, but she will then for no reason just up and start crying. I use to ask her when we first got together why she was crying, and she would tell me I don't know why. After hearing that over and over again I don't ask any more, but just comfort her when it happens.

I get so upset when people try to tell me who deals with depression from my wife having it trying to tell me its a choice.
I am so upset right now at Jason's comments I would ban the man from the site if I could !!!

When you were depressed, what exactly did you get depressed about? Did something particular come into your mind as you got depressed?

It was not my intention to hurt or wound you or your wife. If depression is not a choice in some cases, then I am open to hearing the case that proves otherwise. But shouldn't the Bible also speak about this, too?

I apologize if it seemed like I might have been insenstive to your situation with your wife's struggle. Trust me, there is nothing more than I would want to see more than for her to be cured of this problem she is having. I will pray for her.

The depression came up because me and Jason started talking about it, and his pride got the better of him when he tried to prove his stance by stating depression is a choice.

He needs to watch what he says and find out the truth before he speaks, and not to debate with others who experience this disease first hand by family members that have it. His pride wants to make forgivable situations to be unforgivable.......

I have already told you about my wife and how she breaks down and cries out of the clear blue for no reason, and you rejected that. I see it happen constantly and there is absolutely nothing that happened to trigger the response Jason.

You know I dont agree with Jason here but he is entitled to his belief according to how he sees it in scripture.

He doesnt need to believe you (even though you say)

So holding him accountable to have to believe you (because you have some intimate experience with it) over the way he might understand and believe the word of God is unfair
