From my experience here, and i did stay way a few years , this is not a Christian site.
While i believe the site tries to be christian in its roots, the people end up deciding due to the conversational forum style of the site. The site population are comprised of enough non-biblical, bible twisting, and extra biblical doctrinal beliefs that i would say this site's population is a mix bag of christian and christian in name only. What this site has shown me, and specifically the bible board, is that we are near the end times because there are a lot of false gospels and pseudochristos in the world decieving many.

Post more stuff like this and you'll be reported and banned. Your choice. Just sayin'.

Not really. He was giving his answer. I genuinely dont see why what he said is report/ban worthy.
If someone keeps on saying that CC is not a christian site..wouldn't you think it kinda sorts under inappropriate posts?

No. Especially considering the context. He can have that opinion. We can work to prove him wrong.

i understand your feelings, but reconsider your motive for wanting to ban him.

Did I say that I wanted to ban him? Let's have an argument when there is none?

Im not going to argue with you. You find his and my opinion worthy of a ban. Perhaps i used the wrong terms in saying you wanted to ban him, but im still asking you to reconsider your motive for wanting to ban such an opinion instead of living and proving it wrong.

Sigh. You are arguing. About your opinions I said nothing of such being worthy of a ban. The meaning of what I said was that those who continue to post stuff like "CC is not a christian site" will eventually be banned. That's all. Now, this thread is getting derailed so I am off this meaningless bouncing.

In fact, I happen to agree with most of this! The problem is not in the site itself, it is some of the users here and their strange stuffs.

No.

Self-righteousness, on your part.

It's sad how people who claim to belong to Christ so savagely desire to see others banned as opposed to helped and then rejoice in the same when it actually transpires. Somebody posted a bunch of happy emoticons the other day because somebody had been banned and I literally almost threw up when I saw it.

Censorship is always a difficult subject. But you do need rules.
Years ago I was part of Operation Mobilisation, an interdenominational, community living on board a ship the MVLogos.
I used to go round and discuss the Lord with as many people as I could because I loved doing it, and I loved the Lord so much.

I was talking once with a fellow team member about what it would be like in heaven, and another member said, do you believe that? Oddly we were all full time christian workers, sponsored by christians and churches around the world, but at least it was honest. We had ex-terrorists, gang members, to straight laced, middle class, highly protected young people all together in a pressure cooker. It was weired and also fantastic, mind blowing and disappointing. We saw great moves of God and none. But what made it work was openness and honesty.

The church is a mess, but seeing it and calling out to Jesus is the way forward. We need to know where the body is, what are the arguments so the words and issues can be addressed. We are a living being, and as such need a doctor, need teaching and help, but if we are unaware of the issues, then they will come to dominate.

So I rejoice in this dialogue, though spiritually hard, we are called to carry the cross daily, and this does not mean shying away. If you guys were not sincere about why you believe, I would be seriously disappointed. It is only by burning hot that we burn away the dross, refined by fire. It sounds so pompous, but witnessing to muslims opened my eyes to so much, which is odd, that talking about love and life to those very lost and confused should help make me whole, but it did.

When you meet people dying of cancer, a cold does not look that important, is a health analogy of a spiritual disease.

At least that is my take on CC, I am very impressed and it serves a great purpose.

It is difficult for all of us to get that perfect balance of grace and truth.

Truth varies from person to person - ah, but the not giving it with grace throws it off balance.

So what fixes this? God! Remember he IS our purpose!
AWC, I'm just quoting this portion of your OP, because it is the heart of the issue you've raised -- what do we do? But the OP itself is outstanding! You're absolutely right, most of us on here forget Who our focus is, and why boards like this exist.

What do we do? We stop giving the rabble-rousers the attention they so desperately desire and start actually fellowshiping. We ignore the controversies, the pet theologies, the deliberate efforts to destroy fellowship, and encourage, edify, and love one another.

Even those who get along still have minor differences. That isn't what I'm talking about, though. I'm talking about the obvious false teachings we all recognize and seem irresistibly drawn to confront them. But with some threads the last few months reaching over 1,000 posts each with no resolution but a great deal of animosity, anger, insults, and frustration, it should become obvious to us that there are a handful of people whose sole purpose in coming here is to sow seeds of discontent.

What we need to resolve to do, as the core membership here who want to love and serve Jesus Christ without dissension, is simply refuse to respond to the provocative threads. Let the false teachers post away. They will then horn in on threads that have nothing to do with their pet subjects to try to disturb those, too, and we continue to ignore them. If they have no audience, they will eventually lose interest.

We decry the lack of fellowship but continue to react to the disfellowship they foment. Let's all quit giving them a stage. Turn out the lights on them, lower the curtain, leave their theater. Soon we'll see a board we can all appreciate.
