The supposed being "slain in the Spirit" is not a biblical concept.

2. The biblical instances were few and far between, and they occurred only rarely in the lives of a few people. In the slain in the Spirit phenomenon, falling down is a repeated event and an experience that happens to many.

3. In the biblical instances, the people fall upon their face in awe at either what or whom they see. In the slain in the Spirit counterfeit, they fall backwards, either in response to the wave of the speaker's arm or as a result of a church leader's touch (or push in some cases).

We are not claiming that all examples of being slain in the Spirit are fakes or responses to a touch or push. Many people claim to experience an energy or a force that causes them to fall back. However, we find no biblical basis for this concept. Yes, there may be some energy or force involved, but if so, it is very likely not of God and not the result of the working of the Holy Spirit.

The Christians who argue against this phenomena really being from the Lord base their arguments on the following reasons:

Every time people fell when the presence of God would manifest, they would always fall on their faces, not fall backward.

Nowhere in the Bible do the prophets, the apostles, or Jesus Himself ever lay hands on someone and then the power of God comes through their hands to knock them backward.

The only time people fell in the presence of God was when God was rendering some type of judgment.

Is Being Slain In The Spirit Coming From God?

But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall {{backwards and be broken, and snared and taken}}. Isaiah 28:13

I don't know what slain in the spirit is exactly, the only time that I can even think it may have remotely happened to me was when I entered my room and I sensed a presence in in but I ignored it and I lay in bed to be with God as this is a good way for me to connect with him. no sooner had I done this I had lost all strength physically mentally and within my soul but the second I did I was in God's arms the only time I have ever physically been in them. The love he was pouring into me was beyond powerful it was so deep and so strong I simply couldn't take it I begged him to take me home so i could be in his arms forever.

as I lie there in his arms in my minds eye I saw me laying on the ground with no strength and I saw God gently lifting me up but I said to him no Lord I don't want to stand because I knew if I did I would leave his arms like that and then he whispered the words I need you to be strong for me and suddenly all my strength had returned as if his words made me strong again.
I don't know if that is being slain in the spirit or not but if it happens even once in the bible then yes it is a biblical concept

I can't attest to the fact that your experience was valid since God deals with people in different ways. My point was the "falling backwards" is not how God deals spiritually with people.

I have witnessed this "slain in the spirit" thing here at one of the many nondenominational churches here in my local area. What shocked me the most was the audience. (I can't call it a congregation)They were amazed as if watching a magic show!(which is what they were watching) Everytime a body hit the floor, and it was always backwards, the noise level from the gibbering crowd would increase!!!!they had these poor people in a frenzy.

There is another one chica can read on page 2, which is why I said we do not need this one. Yet she ignores that wisdom. I am now confirmed in my discernment of her., She is simply here to cause division and strife and has no sincere desire to make amends to people she insults and attacks. She is the one throwing bloody chum in the water trying to attract the sharks.

Perhaps she wanted to take it in a different direction?

Stop insulting and speaking for God by stating how he will spiritually deal with people.

By stating this you limit God and there is no limit to God and he does not change.

For the record the above sentence is a Bible verse without reference.

nope she did not take it in any other direction but "falling backwards" is not how God deals spiritually with anyone.

AWC covered this by asking the question why do people fall backwards. Chica is picking fights, because she stated as fact that falling backwards is not how God deals spiritually with people.

Her mind is already made up on the topic and she started this thread to start a fight and as bait and nothing else.

She can play games with admins/mods and gather support among other posters by posting fake apologies, but msyelf and others see right through her. Her imperative and declarative statement that God does not work in a certain way, proves her agenda.

It also proves her Biblical ignorance how God does work spiritually with people, which is: ANY WAY HE WANTS TO!

She is also spreading untruth of the word of God. Yet she continues. I would be impressed if CC actually had admins that lowered the boom and gave infractions for people that state a blatant untruth about how God operates, like they do for peeps calling people names and other such things.

It's like the Toronto Blessing and the thing that happened at Pensacola Florida. People came to those things that weren't even Chrisitans because they were attracted by the nuttiness of it all. Why people find it interesting to see people crawl around on the floor and make animal noises and fall backwards is beyond me. I think people just like to be entertained.

Toronto started with God but later dissolved into pure flesh as I see it.
