JesusLives, Mormons aren't Christians. No matter how you slice it.

I hope we're not all in individual rooms. I'd prefer a big mansion with no walls and massive feasts for all to attend!

Subscribing, unsubscribing. Subscribing, unsubscribing... but first I'm going to say something, then...

Subscribing, unsubscribing. Subscribing, unsubscribing... Seriously?

You must enjoy hanging up on people thereby always getting the last word in. Grow up.
Pffft, maybe it's because I'm a woman, but I do truly understand the right to change my mind... often. It's a thing. Honest! :D

I don't have an answer but how do we balance ignoring the heretics and this...?

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2Co 10:4-5)
Isn't that about our own minds, rather than others'?

Great post. I also will be following your wise advice and simply choose to no longer give a platform to those who insist on crucifying Christ afresh by living under the Law.
As long as the platform you build does not place you OVER the Law.
The platform of the Word sets us AS the Law.

Not over, not under. It is within, and we "establish the Law". Rom 3

Yes, when the blatant unorthodoxy is removed, there can be more fellowship.
Exactly. There's no fellowship with false prophets. It's like this concept some try to promote here, that Christianity is all divided. Well, the church is not really a message board, where any cult whackjob can create a pulpit and spew. It's as if it would be shocking to some, to learn there is mainstream Christianity where a large body of the orthodox agree on clear scripture truths, whereas here even the basic gospel is perverted any way some users can imagine, cults out the wazoo, posting false doctrines. We've lately reached into the absurd, that televangelist charlatans, con men and women, are expected to be accorded honor. The bottom line, we're not called to have fellowship with darkness: there's the Holy Spirit, and that other spirit, the fake one. I have no use for fake religion, whatsoever.

Wow..more name calling. I'm far from a heretic, madame, and my thrust is not to prove people wrong, but to make sure the weak among us, and especially babes in Christ who do not post, but READ, get the truth. So, in effect, we have heretics calling people heretics---way too much and far too easily. The malice begins with a few here---cronies---and it is outrageous, to say the least. That they cannot recognize who are strong, right-thinking believers and who are not is a problem for the tenor of this site, for you and a few others have been infected with a mob mentality, patting each other on the back with chortles and joshing at each insulting and insinuating claim, and then loudly declare yourselves the only carriers of truth on this site. It's rather juvenile...high school.

The body of Christ is not a battlefield...but Satan gets his nose in there and stirs up the antipathy, and...look out. We need a full site deliverance.

This is not of Christ. Not. In. The. Least. I am sorry about having to say this, but it is said with both sadness and dismay.
Amen, you see it for just what it is and it is a sad thing indeed. Hats off to you for standing up against the mob, and your not alone. Peace.

Lol, well explained, that's called circular reasoning chap.
It's not a circle. It ends with God. The definitions are set by him. The only issue is internal rebellion against what has been set since the Beginning.

What is "truth"? is this not the puzzling nature of truth?, what is 'truth'?, someone's ideology?
God
The Bible
God working in his elect.
The Philadelphian Phillies are awful this year. The Sixers were worse!

Oh, come on now! Let's not get into the "what is truth" debate. That's why I gave up on non Christian forums that talk about religion. No one could ever get around to talk about God because they kept going for the strawman of "What is truth" to avoid God. Not here too! If you need to define truth, try a dictionary.

(And not aimed at you, kedge, but more that old "What is truth" argument you carried.)

What we have to do is using the context of the passage, interpret it not how we want to see it, but as what it is.
Well i understand that, but who's interpretation is the truth?, do you see the problem as i see the problem. What makes one Biblical interpretation the truth over anothers interpretation?

There you go again, insulting another believer. Google doesn't tell you truth about a man. You need to invest a little more honest effort in understanding people and come to your own conclusions based on the actual person's teaching of the word, and then consider your own beliefs of the word and then make a prayerful and personal decision, but don't be foolish and accept some online nobody to tell you what to think. That's just lazy, and lacks integrity...and that attitude causes more harm than good.

This just has to be said, my dear.

.
Amen, you'll know em by their fruits, or lack thereof. :)

The blind cannot see. They ask "what is sight", but will not understand the answer.
Those who know the Truth know what Truth is. It's not a debate over logic, because the other side can't even see the evidence due to unbelief!

It's a full time job for me to live my own Christian life. I have always wondered why some people make it their life's work to follow other people's Christian walk with Jesus and appoint themselves mini holy spirits. There are tons of sites that only exist for the sole purpose to seek out and find others who disagree with what they say the Bible teaches.
They then "label" and "denounce" their sentence upon who they find and begin a smear campaign to spread their findings to all who follow their broad castings.

They make lists of people who may fit into their criteria of who's who in the heretic world and then find unity among themselves in the process. There is some kind of happiness in this type of unity for some.

Judging others is a very easy thing to do. As human beings we have a natural inclination to find fault with others. It's what we do! It's in our DNA. As born again Christians its our responsibility to look to Jesus and by the renewing of our minds learn not to judge people's hearts and to allow the Holy Spirit to do the convicting and the leading. It has been my observation that He needs no help in this job. He does it 100% well. Judging hearts is something God has not equipped us to do. If someone speaks in tongues and believes in miracles and you don't, it's not your place to denounce them as a liar and heretic. If someone uses the money God has blessed them with to begin a ministry and does things with the funds that you don't agree with, it's not your job to denounce them as a liar and heretic. Just because one person would not see the need to buy an item, does not mean the other person has no reason or right to buy it. It seems pretty simple to me.

Again, I heard this story about how a Christian started his ministry with the Lord. It began as a small and tiny seed planted. No one saw it go into the ground. No one was there when it was patiently tended and cared for year after year. The sacrifices made and the work of tilling and weeding. No one saw the tiny leaves sprouting up and how it was tenderly prayed for and nurtured. But when this small plant grew larger and larger and began to yeald lots of fruit and pour out a hundred fold from what it once was, everyone saw it then, it was no longer tiny - obscure and needy.

The tiny plant grew and began to yeald a hundred fold of what it once was and grew more and more as the Lord saw fit. And many were blessed and added to the number but many others also found fault with how the laborers were caring for the once obscure plant that was made to yeald it's fruit and shade for others. And they made it their job to tear it down and make it go away.

I can surely understand the unsaved world doing that to a Christian work since they are doing what the enemy wants, stop the Gospel from being broadcast around the world. But I do not understand how fellow Christians can do it and see nothing wrong with tearing down another believer's labors for the Lord. I believe this is of the many issues the Bible speaks about even the very elect will be deceived in the last days.
It's refreshing for me to see people who see right through the propaganda being promoted in this thread by the OP. Peace

Amazing to watch a thread evolve.

it started with a plan of action, then in came the spoken of few. Suddenly the thread is off topic, the plan of action is defeated, and nothing is done.

guess i shouldnt be surprised lol
I wouldn't know if the plan of action is being done by all, because I'm already doing the plan of action, so ignoring the posts I planned to ignore.

Have you been to any of those to know if those of us who did resolve to ignore have stuck to it still? Busy busy busy if you have. lol (And, given I'm infinitely nosy, if you have...honest? Have we avoided them? This feels like one of those moments I can have someone else peek in to something I'm trying to ignore and then let me know how it's going. lol)

On the good side, glad to see you decided to stick around. Done right, this is a good site. It's just difficult to figure out how to "done right." :D

Thats funny...this reminded me of something. Did you know that a person will likely marry someone who is like the parent that they had the worst relationship with?
Still trying to resolve the issues. . .

How can anyone talk about God's truth if there are divisions in Christianity of what God's truth is in the Bible?. The divisions are or what appears to be the interpretations of the Bible, can't all be the truth but if the subject is a stumbling block for you then i'll leave it at that but some might see it as a bit of a copout.

Perhaps read the rest of my post? If this is so troubling to you start a thread on it. You are off the topic of this one

Wow!

Somebody else said pretty much what I was thinking. Good for you. Now I can unsubscribe in peace after just one post, without having to suffer through the rest of the self-flattering posts on this thread, but not before making one comment:

Isn't it amazing how the spiritual elite, in their deluded minds, who have gathered together here are some of the biggest troublemakers and instigators on this forum?

Would to God that they would limit themselves to this one thread.

Unsubscribing.
Amen, and it's refreshing for me to see that are some left who are not deceived by their lies and hateful words, but see them as they are, and who they are truly of. Peace :)

The issue of "what is truth" and "what is heresy" actually do go hand in hand.
If we are going to make judgements over what is and isn't heresy, we need a standard.

I am very grateful for your comment here, as, while I know I am never alone, I sometimes do get singled out and that is a true test of my mettle! Thank you.

Blessings to you, today!

Those who know the Truth know what Truth is. It's not a debate over logic.
It's dialogue over what is the true meaning of the Biblical text?
