Gladly! It is all to do with involuntary prostration before the presence of the Lord.

Ezekiel 1:28
Ezekiel 3:23
Ezekiel 43:4
Ezekiel 44:4
Daniel 8:17-18
Daniel 10:8-9
2 Chronicles 5:13-14
2 Chronicles 7:1-2
2 Kings 8:11
Matthew 17:6
John 18:6
Revelation 1:18

43:4; 44:4; Dan 8:7-10; 17-18; Dan 10:8-9; 2 Chr 5:13-14; 7:1-2; 2 kings 8:11; rev 1:17; matt 17:6; John 18:6; Acts 9:4-8;

Nancy did you even notice what you read?

Ezekiel 1:28
Ezekiel 3:23
Ezekiel 43:4
Ezekiel 44:4
Daniel 8:17-18
Daniel 10:8-9

In all the passages above the people were on their faces not their backs.

2 Chronicles 5:13-14
2 Chronicles 7:1-2

The Chronicles passages have nothing to do with being prostrate before the Lord.

2 Kings 8:11...And he settled his countenance steadfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.

What does 2Kings 8:11 have to do with being prostrate before the Lord?

Matt.17:6, Again, the disciples "fell on their faces".

John 18:6, The proper reading of John 18:6 is "they went backwards" meaning they drew back or stepped back, not "they fell".

Revelation 1:18, Havn't got a clue as to what you are referring.

Acts 9:4-8 just says that Paul "fell" to the earth not that he fell backwards.

That you cannot "get it" doesn't mean that I am ignorant of the scriptures I have posted.

If it makes a difference to you how one falls in the presence of the power of God, then there is a deeper problem with receiving God's word. Every verse I offer says something about this move of God on men. I invite you to pray about it earnestly, be open to Holy Spirit speaking the truth to you, and keep studying.

Strange things can happen to people when they get hyped up. Like voodoo. Best to stay away from stuff like this since it can infect anyone that puts themselves in the middle of situation.

I have never seen a person who has gone down in prostration to the Spirit of God be "hyped up". You cannot stay away from the Holy Spirit's presence if He is right there over you and desires to touch you in that way...except to just stay away from places where people are gathering in Jesus' name.

The point is Nancy it is how some are promoting that when slain in the spirit the formula is "falling backwards" that your list of scripture clearly shows Isn't Biblical.

There is no "formula" for what the Spirit of God does. If you are looking for one, then you will miss Him. HE is BIBLICAL. He doesn't do things according to Chica, praise God! Every verse I offered has to do with His manifest presence in people. If you want to deny you will always find a way to do so.

I believe in God's manifest presence and have even heard the Lord audibly, but what you have promoted time and time again is WoF doctirne and according to them and their formula when one is "slain in the spirit" falling backwards is a nautral consequence.

I'm not going to keep incessently posting to you on this subject. Have good day, and peace to you.

I promote the truth of God's word. You are the one among too many others who are fueled only by an aversion to it based on your abject rejection and hatred of some nebulous group.

Whether one is involuntarily prostrated by falling backward, forward or sideways doesn't matter. There is no "formula" for what God does. He chooses who He will minister to and how He will do so, and He is not about to consult with Chica on how to do it.

Nancy, I' gonna have to put you ignore.

Nancy, I' gonna have to put you ignore.

I am seeing this dysfunction in CC where people cannot handle opposing views so they put people on "ignore". What inability to cope! It ends up that there is only a boorish clique that remains to rove through the forums trying to dominate by mocking and bullying.

This is what it boils down to:

This reminds me of the Christian Scientist (Mary Baker Eddyist) in hell saying, "It's not hot, and I'm not here!!"

What I don't understand is this language: "you will miss him"; "you cannot stay away from the holy Spirit's presence if he is right there over you and desires to touch you in that way"; "the feet just cannot manage to hold a person up when holy Spirit is in front of you"; "simply a move of the Spirit on individuals" . . . . How do any of these phrases happen when we are born again of the Spirit and the holy Spirit dwells within us? How will we miss him when he is that new creation that is created within us? How can we stay away or be away from his presence when he is within us? Why doesn't EVERY born again believer "fall" and how is the holy Spirit right in front of us when he is within us? Why doesn't this happen while born again believers are walking down the street or going about their everyday business? And again if it were a spiritual matter that God doesn't want us to be ignorant of - why isn't it listed with the other nine manifestations in 1 Cor. 12?

The point of my post is falling "backwards".

That's what I see and have experienced, crossnote. That is what is happening here at CC in these bible discussion forums. It's juvenile. I'd venture a guess that these members who continually ignore and actually proudly broadcast that they are doing it have a list of ignored members as long as their arm. All they have left to talk to is each other.

Signals to me I'd better get in the kitchen and get to popping...

Don't throw your pearls before swine comes to mind. The Lord may give you an experience but it takes discernment as to whom it should be shared. There are people who are close minded to the supernatural, even with scriptural support. They may say its biblical, but its not for me. They are scared. There is a fear of the unknown. Its understandable.

They could be slain in the Spirit and will call it a demon who did it... they will find excuses blaming it on some spirit from some foreign country. Why? Because it goes outside their paradigm. It stretches their imagination. It doesn't make sense to them.

So what, people are being "slain in the Spirit", do you see something wrong with this? Is there some negative fruit to it, or does it make the people revere God and give Him praise? Does it make them understand how powerful He is, and how very real His presence is? How can you say its a work of the enemy when it glorifies God? A house divided cannot stand. You may say, "Yes, but people will seek the experience.", and my reply will be "Does God not give the desires of the heart, even so place them there?" Maybe He wants you to experience it too!

People are so hellbent on the supernatural aspect of Christianity that they make up all these excuses and hypotheticals of seeking experience over God. It doesn't even make sense because the experience glorifies God. Which will lead them to Him, in worship. It all works out...
