So what do you think about advice from the World Health Organisation where abortion is an option to prevent maternal death. Is the mother doomed for saving her own life.
This is in the smallest percentile of reasons for an abortion. As are rape and incest. Most happen because the baby is seen as an inconvenience.

Just the thought of aborting a little treasure from heaven makes me sick to my stomach because it is such a selfish act. Many don't think of the consequences they just think of a quick exit of a situation. I just love and adore kids with all my heart that it makes me very angry that people just don't want them and instead they get an abortion.

I believe those pictures need to be seen so was not offended by it at all.But Im like Tintin,I have an overactive imagination and cant look at it before bed.
I have an overactive imaginative and I almost fainted when I saw that picture. I hate abortion, but I just don't need that picture in my mind as I try to get some well-needed sleep.

That's already been discussed on earlier pages.

Note: the world health organization isn't my authority, all situations are different.

These case represent 3% of abortions, rapes included. If you have abortion in only those cases there would be almost no abortions at all in this country.

Wouldn't that be losing faith in God, though? The doctors say I will die if I don't have this abortion, even though doctors have been wrong plenty of times in the past. Whereas God has, does, and continues to make mircales all over the world? At what point are you deciding to take your trust out of God, asking Him to bring you through it?

Oh I totally agree Tin Tin. but WHO does describe a condition called pre eclampsia which is (particularly in developing nations) fatal for the mother and doesn't respond to treatments with an electrolyte called magnesium. So in that instance they talk about abortion as an option for the mother. So from a biblical perspective is the mother doomed to hell if she saves her own life or if she is to get to heaven should she die with the baby

Im sorry but pre eclampsia is a condition that develops late un the pregnancy and is only cured by the birth of the baby. Abortion is ending if life, and a c-section is in most cases the procedure to cure this condition.

No a saved mother who knows christ will not go to hell

Again that is a very small percentage.I believe God can touch and heal a mother in this condition if we but ask him.Abortion is still wrong and still a sin.

OK...I looked up the Mayo clinic site and it says it most commonly starts after 20 weeks but can start as early as 12. They can try and treat it with stuff like magnesium. C-section isn't good if its that early in the pregnancy. There seems a few treatments they can do to stop eclampsia but these aren't easily available if you live in a country like Nigeria or Africa in general. So if you don't get treatment blood pressure rises and if it isn't managed then mother and baby commonly die. I'm not trying to put some sort of complications to things but the question was ...is there any reasonable cause to abort. Well I thought this might be one but wondered what would people here think if the mother did this

Culturally things are different yes. Ive prayed about medical missions in africa because of uneducated things such as this. Actually this condition is easily treated in the us.
I see your question now. Bottom line, abortion is wrong.

Look at it this way. God doesnt make mistakes. If he's the creator of life than he has a plan. Sooner or later our faith has to play a huge role in our decision making.

Oh, God. Forgive us. That photo was horrific.
And just think.....the U.S. has several million a year...now add up all the nations where it takes place with even more intensity....like China and a one child policy where boys are preferred.......literally 10's of millions of murders/killings a year or more...........No wonder God will burn the world in the fire of his jealousy which leaves but few men left!

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, jeremiah 1:5

That's all I need to know.
Study that word "knew" it is an awesome deep truth when fully realized with a handful of other "hints" and scriptures in context!

My mother would have aborted me in 1948, problem was abortions were nearly impossible for a woman freshly off the boat from Belgium back then, who had gotten deceived and seduced by an American soldier, whom she found out too late he was already married.
Anyways Providence would have it that that little baby whom she spared would later (after giving her much more heartache )be instrumental in leading her to the Lord at age 52.
thanks for sharing that. so glad she didnt get an abortion. no one is more happy than i am to have you here alive and well to discuss the bible with.

this is one of my favorite passages in the bible. its a good scripture to use against abortion. it also means a lot more to me but i am going to make a new thread as i think my point is getting missed.
