Whoa..... You might want to check your glasses.
You do not even belong on here, very unchristian. If you want to battle find another forum, there are a lot more Christians on this forum than you. Go pray and ask God to forgive your mouth.

We have had gay marriage in Canada since 2005. While I don't like it, I can honestly say it has never affected me in any way, shape or form.

Our legislation was also a result of constant court battles in every province over gay marriages that had been performed. Only Alberta's premier fought back, and the federal law overruled him in 2005.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-sex_marriage_in_Canada

One thing the Act does include, which is maybe why gay marriage is not such a big deal, is that no minister shall be forced to perform a marriage which is against their religious beliefs. So Christians are all protected from having to have gay marriage in their church.

I also find it quite amusing that people think the pope is going to allow gay marriage, because of the decision in the US. The Catholic Church is a huge institution, with more members in conservative countries in South America, Africa, etc. The RCC is not going to change its standards just because one country changes its law. For what it is worth.

The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled today that same-sex marriage is legal in all 50 states. With all due respect to the court, it did not define marriage, and therefore is not entitled to re-define it.
Long before our government came into existence, marriage was created by the One who created man and woman—Almighty God—and His decisions are not subject to review or revision by any manmade court. God is clear about the definition of marriage in His Holy Word: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (Genesis 2:24).
I pray God will spare America from His judgment, though, by our actions as a nation, we give Him less and less reason to do so.
I can't yet shake this feeling this has been an earmark day against the US. Not exactly sick, but depressed. I kept hoping for a Jonah at Nineveh kind of thing, where God sends someone to a land marked for doom, and the people hear. I hoped that. I suspected it was the ultimate demise of Nineveh. (Hey? Apparently the place didn't continue to hear God or it would still be around.)

Minor places where I disagree with you though. I don't respect the SC. Respect is earned, and they haven't earned it in decades. I don't believe America has ever been God's land. Many of its people are/were God's people, but the land was never God's land. We, as a nation, never made it that. Now we're just aiming lower and lower away from that.

Fortunately, God judges lands differently than judging people. The only land he ever really judged was his old Promised Land -- Israel. That's why it disappeared. But his people didn't ever really disappear. We simply changed faces and keep being brought in by him from all nations.

Today marks the day where we slipped off the slippery slope and are now free falling down a long cliff -- as a nation. America is the Rome Empire. It was a big thing and will be no more. It will slowly fade into just something. Rome fell the day Christ was hung on that cross. The Empire lingered after that for a few centuries, but it was doomed that day.

Then again, none of us believers belong to the USA. We belong to Mt. Sinai -- God's mountain. He STILL wins, so we're still on the winning side despite what happened to the country we love today.

Bye bye Miss American Pie, for today is the day the music died. Joy still lives in Christ.

funny, I heard the RCC was quite liberal in S.A. due to the Liberation Theology and processed theology down there and this pope has been influenced in that direction...but that's getting off topic

The Pope's views have nothing to do with America.

What's happening in Canada has nothing to do with what has already started in America.

It has effected you, but you think it begins and ends with who you don't have to marry in your church.

Just out of curiosity, didn't it bother you in 2006 when it happened in Canada? Were we supposed to be "amused" since it didn't affect us? I honestly thought "us" was God's people. I get this isn't a big thing when you compare it to the world's events as a whole, but it really is a big thing to America.

A dream just died.

MsLimpet, we don't make sweeping judgmental statements about someone's faith on CC&F. Thanks.

Well, I kind of figured we could as soon as we're sure. I'm only sure about two, and Willie isn't one of the two, thus agreed that was inappropriate.

Ah, man! Wasn't Sinai the place God gave Moses the Law? I figured if God manifests physically again, that would be the place he'd do it? (At least, not likely to be Monticello, right? lol)

ML,

You may have let your feelings get hurt because I told you to look up some Scriptures on your own, but what have I said that makes you feel it is necessary to make a post like that?

Ang...the reason I love this because
My feelings are simple
Why should we christians battle one another over this.
we can kahoot all day...but we can not STOP the governments allowing this.
I suppose I mean I just follow Gods rules with me and my loved ones
Am I wrong to say...let the sinners fall apart outside of my life
It has nothing to do with me.
Long as God is pleased with me
Why stress myself into a nosebleed..and ruin my day over gay marriage. It cant be stopped by christians. We dont have to like it...but gay people are not trying to marry me. You know what Im saying. Please disagree with me good folks if u like. Im sweet...I dont mind at all.
Im just saying it saddens me
Gay marriage is upsetting many friends here I love today.
we cant stop it...why let it distress your day.
we please God
Let them be responsible for their souls.

Forgibe me...is anyone mad at my opinion
I apologize if you are
Im only honest how I feel
Agreeable or not

Pretty sure Sinai was where 3,000 people died because of their inability to live under "The Ministry of Death".... (BTW, that is the 10 Commandments.)

To most of you (even you VW)

I know there is not a lot I say that many of you can get behind, or really even sometimes understand. That's cool. But I do want to take a moment to thank you for your defense of my belief in Christ. I hope, that despite the extreme ways I worship and even see God/Jesus, my devotion for and love of Jesus is always evident.

But, apparently, it is isn't... to at least one person here. So, ML, would you please (even if you have to start a new thread) explain why you said I am not a Christian?
