Actually I was quite calm when I posted that. a little advice when you post an exclamation mark after what is said it is seen as speaking in a louder voice or being angry or upset

Well....maybe...or maybe it was just a statement without a louder voice, being angry or upset!!!!<--- ;)

I love knowing when Jesus walked among us, He was not a flower child but rather a rugged revolutionary.

Being a fragile woman with weak bones, I would just cringe and die (forget about trying to save others - I would just trust the angels to do that work) UNLESS I had supernatural strength from above to resist. Then I would know it was God's will that I fight to live.

It is really all about letting the Holy Spirit determine your moves. As Jesus did when He let the mob kill Him.

I can't argue with this, Willie. I'd succumb to a violent mob in order to save others, but someone's getting kicked in the pills before I die.
I like your honesty. Me too. I know what Jesus taught, but I also know that few of us are going to ever come close to following Jesus as He says is THE WAY.

I once posted that "lead us not into temptation" in the Lord's prayer meant exactly this.... "Please don't force us to find out that we couldn't be as self-sacrificing as you if ever tested with the kind of temptation that we might kill another in order to save ourselves or our loved ones."

I think you guys are missing one thing that you probably wouldn't follow Jesus in.... letting a violent mob murder Him, without resisting for even one moment.
One trait i thought of was that even though he was insult, he never insulted in return.

I think the Bible said "Meek", not "weak."

Yeah, I suspect that I will never be able to match Jesus in ANY way.
One thing we will never have is His ability to see exactly right to the heart of the matter. He knew peoples hearts and motivations in spite of their outward actions. I think we can get a glimpse of it if we are open to the leading of the Holy Spirit but we just can't see others like Jesus was able too.

I think we all have to in some point eventually, don't we? I mean we are to walk as He walked. You can be like your master but never greater.

I honestly don't think so. I've yet to meet a person who has kept God's law.. or will ever be able to..... Jesus did.

One thing I learned early on as a mother was to ask questions.....When my daughter would ask me something I would ask her a question to see where she was coming from and then it made my job a little easier to answer her in the best way I could.

It might serve us well to start asking other people questions before we start our answers and if you pay attention Jesus also asked people a lot of questions before He gave some of His answers.....It really does help to know which direction people are coming from....

Yeah, but then you don't get to automatically condemn them as Cultist False Teachers..... and you might actually have to THINK, and perhaps even LEARN something.

Amen to this. I know I would but I prefer never having to be in that situation.

I'm a bit confused, and could be wrong, but as I understand it.......in the Commandments......."kill" is more properly interpreted as "murder."

Self defense/defense of the lives of ones family is not murder........

Hey, guess what, i actually read that post. I'd say i agree with him, though i found it hard to follow, not because of him but because of me. I'm real slow at understanding sometimes and i like things real simple. Some words out of my vocabulary in there too lol But yes, i agree we need a holistic understanding of Jesus' message, who He is and what He did. Although i don't think ive fully come to that place yet but im seeking...

Trust me, not many of us have. I know I sure haven't. You should hear the arguments Mike and I have concerning Personal Protection, National Security, and ready Military.

He's a believer in ALL Jesus taught about non-violence, and I have killed more than a hundred.... some even in the line of duty.
