I'm a bit confused, and could be wrong, but as I understand it.......in the Commandments......."kill" is more properly interpreted as "murder."

Self defense/defense of the lives of ones family is not murder........
You wouldn't say that Jesus could have easily claimed "self-defense", and called those 10,000 Angels? But, know what? He didn't.

Not really a good comparison.............ok? :)

Jesus took upon Himself the form of man, and came here for a specific PURPOSE.

Just not a good comparison. :)

Some words of Jesus:

Mat_23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Mar_11:17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Mat_12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Mat_21:31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

Mat_16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

I imagine someone would surely get in trouble saying these kind of things now.

Make no mistake, Brother, I would prefer never to have to take a life, even in self defense, yet be that as it may, I would kill to the nth degree without prejudice if that's what it took to save innocent lives. I'd prefer to win over would-be-murderers with the love of Christ, but when it comes to saving innocence, the ends justifies the means.

After 9/11, I thought long and hard about re-enlisting, but I knew the war would be faught in a politically correct manner and I was not going to subject my family or myself to such nonsense. And the beat goes on.

No doubt for sure.....quote these verses in context and with a modern application and get accused of hate and a lack of love......
