Ken, you may be willing to compromise on this issue, But I will not.
Do I believe that all laws should be based on the Bible, Yes I do, and those who do not like it would be welcomed to leave with a one way ticket.

Look I am not compromising on this either as I don't like it either, but I am not the one/ones who made the law.........

I would love it if all our laws were based on God's laws, but that is not the way of the world and we must understand that.
This doesn't mean we have to support it or agree with it, but at the same time we must realize we can not enforce our ways on others as that is completely against what the Lord taught as well.

The censorship begins: Patriot-News Will Limit Anti-Gay Marriage Op-Eds | The Daily Caller I'm sure this will be the first of many.

Funny how the supposedly tolerant, open minded people are always the biggest supporters of censorship.

Censorship is wrong on the ways they use it, as I just recently saw a report done where they edited out a joke that Clint Eastwood said about Jenner.

They have it okay to joke about some people but not others, even comedians such as Chris Rock, Larry the cable guy, and Jerry Seinfeld said they will not perform at colleges any more because of how they get booed on certain jokes. Saying people don't know how to take a joke any more, and take things way to serious !!!

Really you to ???

So you are really going to believe that when only 60 million people are polled out of 320 million you will get an accurate result to speak for all people? Come on now as that leaves around 260 million people who were not part of the poll !!!

That is an awful lot of people that were not asked if they are gay or not that can easily change the percentage one way or the other. Because if 80 of those 260 million come out and say they are gay then that would raise that percentage up considerably. You can not have an accurate result when not even 50% of the population was polled !!!

You few can act all highly educational all you want, but it does not take a college degree to know an accurate result can not be given when not even 50% was polled of the population. That leaves way to many up in the air that could go either way.

Kenneth, statistics is mathematics. Polls use statistics to determine various things, including orientation, lifestyles, ethnicity and beliefs. It is used in science experiments and in psychology, and even in arts. If you had ever taken one course in it, you would understand the basic assumptions, and the way things are correlated to be accurate to high degree or not.

Take a course in it. Like I said, my grade 6 students understood it when we did a poll. This post really shows an appalling ignorance of statistics. I took both calculus and statistics in university, and got the highest mark in the class of 200 people in a large university. You don't have to do that, though. Maybe just read a book on it, and learn that polls are accurate, especially when a large amount of people are included in the data base. (Maybe not in a small sample - but stats are set up to take that into account. How many people are polled is part of the equation, and in the case of 60 million people, you have covered every single possibility.)

Once again I do not need to take a college course to learn common sense that polling a small number of a whole community does not speak for the whole lot.

For instance you can poll 100 people on what color they favor the most between blue and red, and 60 may say blue and the other 40 may say red. Now this can not be taken to apply that 60% of all people like blue over red, because you could go and take and poll another 100 people and the result could end up being the other way around. Then you would have a 50/50 delimma only based on 200 people.

The only way to get an accurate number is to poll every person involved to get your answer, else wise even by using mathematics which I was a A student in, it still is just an educated figure.....

Totally a straw man you have presented here, once again demonstrating your total ignorance of polls and statistics.

No it is not a straw man, as a couple of you are trying to make polling out to me complicated then what it really is.
Then in turn you try to make and put down a person just because they don't have a college education, and you do realize that is a form of looking at yourself as better than another which is frowned upon in the bible. The bible shows don't letting one's education lead them to believe they are better then others is a step toward being prideful, which is a sin......

Galatians 6:3
For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

1 Corinthians 8:2
And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

No, he does not, Ken. Roberts wrote the dissenting opinion, i.e., that there is no right to same-sex marriage in the Constitution. It's a dissociative position from the one he took in the ObamaCare decision.

It was actually Kennedy who wrote those words, but as Fox News pointed out, the real test for that opinion comes with the first pastor who refuses to perform a gay marriage.

Also, there is a very, very small glimmer of hope. The decision doesn't take effect immediately. The Court is giving opponents three weeks for reconsideration, which is very nearly unprecedented.

I had to respond back to this last statement you made, because I just saw on the news this morning 6/27/15 that even though there is a three week stance for reconsideration. States are not following that and have already put immediately into effect this ruling and is marrying gay couples. So that very slim hope seems to have already quickly faded away !!!

I said it was slim, and not all states have immediately instituted gay marriage. That's no guarantee one will step forward and ask for reconsideration. But instead of pointing out how many have jumped on the bandwagon and declaring the "slim hope is fading," wouldn't it be better if we prayed that one brave attorney-general does come forward and "demand a recount"?

Why does this website have so many flies in the ointment like KennethC and WillieT? It seems they come on just to argue and be disagreeable. :/

They say a little irritation creates the pearl.

Actually the best polling (done by Gallup) shows that the LGBT community is 3.5% of the U.S. population. This includes those who engage in bisexuality; however. Those who identified as purely homosexual were about 1.5%.

But even 3.5% of the population is ridiculously low for the U.S. justice system to be threatening Christian churches and clergy with government legal action for refusing to participate in the abomination and sacrilege of homosexual "marriage." In fact, 100% would be too low for of a percentage for Holy God because His eternal normative morality is objective and unchanging.
3.5% of the US population and out of 34 states that accepted homosexual marriage, only 3 of them voted it in. The rest was either "legislated" by the courts (that 3.5% sued enough that states relented) or one bozo governor in NJ just decreed it. Seriously! "This is how liberty ends... with thunderous applause."

Yes, they most certainly can get the "Justice System" to force the issue. They JUST DID!!! That was merely Step One.

I will not accept any polling results that are based on estimated guesses.

It is not about people being dishonest in giving their polling numbers, just that it is based on educated guesses.
We should not be taking educated guesses and making them out to be facts, as scientists do with their theories trying to make a theory be a fact. I never said they are being deliberately dishonest, those are your words I never said.

When the laws change to make s.s.m. and gay relations more and more acceptable in society then you will see more and more people come out and admit they are gay. I have grown up with a few and still to this day know of some who say they are gay but are afraid to come out and admit it.

I don't defend this lifestyle as I know by God it is wrong, yet when the laws continue to make things against God's way acceptable you will be seeing more and more people coming out of the wood work siding with those things.

Just like I continue to see Republicans try and say all liberals or Democrats think and believe the same way, and vise versa of some Democrats saying that about the conservatives and Republicans. Both of which is false way of thinking by our news sources and government keep people thinking falsely this way.

For I know a lot of Republicans who agree with s.s.m. also, and I live in a state that has some of the lease restrictive gun laws then other states thanks to the Democrats that live here.
Survey and polls are very scientific now. To not trust them -- particularly Gallop is something kin to not trusting FBI profilers or actuaries. Same kind of effort and study used to do any of them.

I pray all the time things would follow the way that God's will be done....

This has nothing to do with a recount as it was a voted on by 9 Justices, and 5 voted in favor and 4 voted against.
Now a couple of them can come back and say they changed their stance, but do not see that happening as the great falling away is taking place in this world.

I don't argue with others at all, but at the same there is always to sides to a debate and we from the other side of the coin can not sit back and let others spread info they received from bias news sources that are not giving the whole truth.

There is a thing called friendly respectful debating which is not arguing, as arguing is when people get heated and start spewing junk and hurtful words toward each other. I have never done that to others on here, but instead have gotten that treatment slated toward me in return, showing their true fruits.

I will always disagree with those who either use only partial truths, use bias sources, and twist or do away with scriptures in the bible!!!

This ruling will open up numerous cans of worms........like when the gay couples demand to be married in a church setting (building) and they are refused the right to use a building where a church meets......lawsuits, loss of tax exempt status etc......this will spiral out of control and could lead to many churches shutting the doors and or be forced to meet in homes and or in secret.....

Well if you all trust in polls being so accurate then I guess all other Republican candidates can concede running for president because most polls have Jeb Bush winning the Republican nomination. And if there is that many Republicans who want to see another Bush in office after the messes the other Bushes polices caused....................Then all I can do is shake my head !!!
