I'm an expert on 'experts', John. Can pick a phony at 40 paces. So, you are an expert in the field of radiometric dating?
Mechanical engineering here, doesn't qualify me to build bridges, skyscrapers or airplanes. My field of expertise is in pumps and piping in the pulp and paper industry.
Uh, let's apply the same questions to the fossil remains of dinos...
How were they buried and when? You have any eyewitnesses?
Do you know with reasonable certainty how and when?
Do the fossils tell you anything more than the creature is dead? Do they come with a date stamped on them?
Were YOU there when Noah got off the boat around 4400 years ago?
"Were you there?"
The favorite sentence of Ken Ham and other lugnuts like Dr. Dino and Henry Morris who got their "flood geology" from Seventh-Day Adventists George McCready Price and Ellen G. White.
Were you there?
LOL.
This is how carbon dating works....they have a date in mind and then keep doing test until they get what they want...The known text styles of that period are much more accurate than some voodoo science called carbon dating. You make ridiculous statements and then you refuse to back them up with any sources other than your imagination.
The accuracy of carbon-14 dating of the Great Isaiah Scroll is confirmed by other dating methods.
Do you or anybody else want to dispute that?
Dispute it with some sort of credible evidence of course.
The who hid the DSS appears to a matter of considerable controversy to me.
ITS CALL FAITH jACK...we have our faith (Christ) and you have your faith (evolution)Were YOU there when Noah got off the boat around 4400 years ago?

From the big S and the big W, we can guess who he means .... spare me !
I do wish this thread was not headed as it is. No one who is genuinely trying to find truth should be called a total joke. And whilst I think he was foolish in his behaviour about his taxes, he is paying heavily for it. I do not think we should make fun of him. I don't know who you are, but God bless you Kent.
Where did you get your information? Everything i read above is not True. i use to be a Correctional Officer in a Prison. And nobody is put in "the Hole" because of an outside phone call. Also When people are put in "the Hole" that is not made public, even the inmates inside would not have known the reason Mr Kent was put in "the Hole". If they got a phone call from outside, and for some idiotic reason they wanted to protect him and put him in "the Hole" they would just come in and take him without announcing to anyone as to the reason they are taking him.
Also prisoners do not get jealous that an inmate is getting out, instead they take advantage of that person that is about to get out, by trying to get their STUFF, they will say, "i want your blanket or __________, when you leave" If they do not comply either immediately or before they leave, that is when they will try to get that person in trouble in order to jeopardize their getting released. Most of the time there is no problems, most inmates who are getting out, don't want to keep any of their STUFF, and are more then willing to give it away before they leave. Inmates who want to KEEP all their stuff are the ones that has problems with other inmates before they get out.

Dr. Dino (Kent Hovind) is not genuinely trying to find truth, in my opinion.
In fact, I think he willfully distorts the truth.
Obviously he distorts the truth with respect to some matters, the evidence being that he is currently incarcerated for fraud-related felonies.
What's your take on the "Obama the Christian" thread where the president of the U.S. is made out to be a total joke?
well to be honest I haven't taken much notice of it. I don't really know enough about him to comment or criticise, and have no views about him..
However, the Scripture is clear. 'Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those who exist have been instituted by God. Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed. -- respect to who respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.' And respect and honor are due to the president of the USA even if not to his policies.
Obama, for good or bad has been placed there by God and is due to the respect that should be shown towards a God-chosen leader. We may not agree with him but we are to respect him because of his office for Christ's sake.
with regard to Kent. I think his views on taxation are foolish although he may well sincerely hold them. but he is paying the price for his foolishness. 'tax to whom taxes are due' whether we agree with them or not.. however I have no reason to doubt that his theological views are sincere and so I think he should be treated with respect, even while we discuss and either support or tear up his views.

I don't know anything about Ken Ham. And carbon dating is not even reliable on things we know the exact age of...so why would any one trust it on an age we don't know....see that's the trick...it works great unless you can really prove the age of something. You got it backwards.
Ken Ham says he has a dinosaur fossil and he is going to shock the world and prove that it is thousands rather than millions of years old.
As in, 6,000 or less years old of course.
He knows what his conclusion is before he does the testing.
The age of the Earth, according to scientists, has changed over the years.
That's how real science works - it is self-correcting.
The analysis of the text style of the Great Isaiah Scroll among the DSS confirms the carbon-14 dating of the manuscript.
It makes little difference to carbon-14 dating if the subject is 2,300 years old like the Isaiah Scroll or 10,000 years old.
In most cases, you are going to get reliable dating and often it can be confirmed by other dating methods.
Fascinating concept..... the Scripture is clear.
'Let every person be subject to the governing authorities.
For there is no authority except from God, and those who exist have been instituted by God.....

Ken Ham is the dude who is building a replica of Noah's ark, with a whole lot of taxpayer's money he hopes.
Do you know who Pat Robertson is? He told Ken Ham to stop making Christians look foolish with this 6,000-year-old world nonsense.
So give me some significant examples of where carbon-14 dating was totally wrong, with links please.
You must have hundreds of links to support your contention that carbon-14 dating is worthless.
