I know you mean well...but I have personal issues when someone says " HE (GOD) let all the suffering happen to you to make you closer to HIM." Let's be totally honest here.....Have you ever begged GOD to allow suffering to come to you so that you will end up closer to HIM? Has anyone ever prayed "Dear GOD, please give me suffering so that I can be much closer to YOU and if that is not enough, give me MORE!". I do know that GOD chastises HIS own,as a good Father would do so that His child will learn from mistakes and grow spiritually, but I can't imagine GOD forcing cruel, or harsh suffering upon people just to get them closer to HIM..makes NO sense to me. I do know that JESUS will be there for us, that HE will help us THROUGH the trials and the valleys...but I never read where HE dumped them on us so that we would be forced to draw nigh to HIM.
I have given GOD the praise and glory for healing, or deliverance and such...but while you and I are on earth the gift of LIFE comes with a price..We are gonna get our load of trials and temptations and sufferings because of the aftermath of S.I.N. But we are NOT abandoned by GOD....we are sustained by GOD. We either recognize HIS touch or we vainly tell others that GOD 'LET" the sufferings occur just to make you closer.

Well I disagree with you. He used my suffering to lead me to Him. I thought I was a Christian and thought I had the world whooped, and at the peak of my admiration of myself and how I had made such a great life for myself I was in a motorcycle wreak that ended up taking all function out of my right and dominate arm. This sucked needless to say, and even though I had called myself Christian for 5 years and wore a cross I couldn’t cope. I was blessed with an awesome family and unbelievable support system but all that could keep me from getting to a point that all I could think about was killing myself or just plain wishing for death every 5 minutes of every day for 2 years.

I got to the point that I couldn’t leave mysons by suicide, but knew that I could do nothing at all for myself and hit my knees one day and gave up, not calling out Jesus or even sure I wanted to believe there was a God anymore. Just my pride died that day and I woke up the next morning a new creature. My suffering lead me straight to the place that I could be saved, and I honestly don’t see any other way that I would have ever stopped to even think about this stuff. So God used the suffering heaped onto me by this world to lead me right to Him. My injury actually causes extreme pain to flare up in my arm still and gets so bad it doubles me over in pain at times. When this happens I pray thanks to God for taking this arm because it lead meto Him. So I can absolutely tell you that He can work that way and did on me. Thank His Holy name for it too.

Yes, its true that the vatican works for the evil forces of darkness! That organization was established on demonic foundation and the bible has gotten hard proves to back up these claims. If the Vatican top authorities had understood that their true identity is reveal in somewhere in the bible, bet me, they woüld have extracted these verses away as they´ve done with the other books. The vatican´s identity is in the bible but if there is still a dark veil across your face, you can´t see it because it is a mystery, though the Christians read pass it everyday. I so much thank The Almighty for unveiling to me this mystery.

Your testimony made me put some things in my life into perspective. :)
I never really had it bad. I was saved 10 years ago and all my problems were avoidable. God always provided a way out but I was too stubborn. Really. I can't fathom God's great love for going out of His way to always take me back when I'm headed the wrong way. The same God of mine has saved you from the mess you were in. But it's true, isn't it? What the enemy meant for evil, God turns for our good, yeah? I'm believing for your continuous journey in God. This walk by faith thing, I'm just learning to do. But it's good. I like it. I like God. God likes me too, and you and everyone. This has blessed me. Thank God for your, Blain.

Suffering despite grace. We live in a world of real cause and effect. Things are going to happen a particular way or God is going to intervene.

The gospel is saying in the mess, love works, it helps sort things out, puts everything into focus, it makes the high places level and fills in the low valleys. The promise of this grace is not to remove the suffering, but to show love works despite the suffering. In this perspective people have called it a privilege to suffer for Christ, to be deemed worthy to be trusted to survive suffering and still rejoice. We are frail and weak, and sometime suffering does bring the realities of what matters to life, rather than just playing games.

The flip side of what you reap is what you have sown, sometimes until people reap the consequences of their behaviour they do not see how bad it really is. The aim is to bring perspective, and so people get the idea suffering helps see what matters. I am not a fan of over emphasising this idea, because it is close to being nuts.

Equally arguing all christians should prosper and everything work out to prove they have got it right, equally becomes, the only reason you follow these ideas is because you love wealth and the easy life. It is true though we follow Jesus because we believe love is the way to live and is life itself, whether rich or poor, happy or sad.

Man...I constantly forget how young you are. I guess you seem kinda wise beyond your years, and given your testimony, that makes sense.
This is powerful stuff you've got here. It's left me speechless. I am so moved after reading the responses; how much love everyone here has for you. God's love is just radiating out of you, I can practically feel it coming out of my screen! God is gonna use you for so much greatness; never stop telling your story :)
God bless you my wonderful brother in Christ <3

Blain, I never knew that at such a young age you went through so much pain, suffering, abuse, etc at the hands of your parents. I am glad that God brought you here and always remember that you are a child of the one true king, who is Jesus. *crying internally* :(. God bless. Have a beautiful day!

I hear your heart..and I truly understand..for, in my own immediate family, my brother-in-law lost both of his arms in a farming accident two years ago, and yes, he was a CHRISTIAN before the accident, however.....in YOUR case...this tragedy forced you to begin to realize there is a spiritual side of things and you began to make positive choices, which did lead to finding CHRIST in you life, indeed! Praise GOD for that...positive can come out of negative. In my brother-in-law's situation... he already knew JESUS...but was not very close to HIM.. Now, he makes it day by day, but his relationship to CHRIST is very minimal, if not cast aside at the moment. His marriage, his attitude and more has become sour. I cannot imagine not knowing JESUS in times of suffering. You are a very exceptional fortunate person and GOD will and has begun to use you mightily....the sky is the limit to what and where you can go. As for my family member, he has the same opportunities as you..but it has to be a choice..a mindset, and attitude of gratitude....on his part. I would say that, GOD, in HIS infinite wisdom, will change a person's life in times of tragedy, but forcing HIMSELF upon someone, giving them pain for His future atonement does not line up with Biblical meanings. For instance, GOD allowed Adam to 'name the animals"...GOD did not interrupt or say "Uh, Adam, do you really want to call that creature a platypus? lol

I understand your comments. There was a time in history when religious leaders would actually flog themselves, causing whelps and drawing blood and giving themselves scars in order to be humbled due to self inflicted pain. They honestly thought they were making themselves better, spiritually speaking. There is a thin line between suffering and claiming that it makes a person stronger. The difference is the connection of the Holy Spirit with the spirit of the suffering person. Otherwise, self infliction or putting one's self in harm's way as a deliberate way to gain a higher level of spirituality is superfluous.
