So I believe in the God head three in one father spirit son, I have a deep and personal love and relationship with both father and jesus however I don't know the holy spirit at all shouldn't I have such a love and bond with him as well?
I wonder what he is like and how he would interact with me I have always seen him as a combination of love power and fire maybe I am wrong maybe not.

But is it the same as building a relationship with Jesus and God? Do I simply just talk to him?

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me (Jn 15:26)

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.
All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you. (Jn 16:13-15)

What a wonderful question!

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ Whom we receive when we are born again. Since Father Son and Holy Spirit are One, we don't have to worry that we are leaving anyone out when praying to God because He will hear.

In Acts 19, Paul finds some disciples who have not received the Holy Spirit: they were believers but they hadn't received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Paul recognized their lack and laid hands on them, following which they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

Having received the Holy Spirit, He is in us and will guide us into all truth. He prompts us to speak (or to stay silent) and propels us forward in ministry in whatever capacity God has given us. When we receive Him we know we are different on the inside, and He becomes the dynamic power of our new nature, inseparable from us, giving us the desire and the ability to serve God acceptably.

I believe there are many believers like those in Acts 19 who have not yet received the Holy Spirit. In my case, when I was converted I just asked the Lord Jesus to come into my heart and into my life and change me, and He did. I was ready to let go of all things I had previously leaned on as true, in order to receive Christ. Pretty much immediately I realized things were different: I was feeling promptings inside me and knowing things I had not known before. Having said that, it was a little while later that I understood the new experiences were because I had received the Holy Spirit, who comforted me powerfully from the scriptures as though they were lit up to my heart with a heavenly highlighter pen :)

It was a while after that I received the baptism with the Holy Spirit, a powerful personal experience that we are promised. Immediately I was thrown forward in faith and in ministry, and the manifestation of the gift of tongues followed.

When I pray I say Father, or Lord, and if I am asking anything, I ask in Jesus' name. The reverance isn't lacking at all as it is in my heart towards God, rather than the words I might utter. With the Holy Spirit, all my stutterings and stumblings over words become no obstacle because God looks on the heart. Without the Holy Spirit, no amount of pious King James speech will make the words acceptable :).

I hope that helps! I love your boldness.

If you do not have the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in you, then you better figure out how that is achieved. I suggest you read the Book of Acts..........

"how that is achieved"?? Dear me. "How" is not our department, it belongs to God. Our part is to believe like a child...and then receive likewise. Nothing complicated. All freely offered to us according to His promises.

Honestly? That's why I tend to call God "God." When I do what you're doing I get all mixed up and then start wondering if I haven't placed three gods in my head instead of the one and only. I know they're different, but can I really consider God a "they?"

Trinity stuff! (shaking my head slowly) Utterly confusing, but just knowing God is above what I can imagine is part of why I know he's God. If I could understand him completely, that just tells me I made him, and I made him too small.

All that said, it helps me to place the Holy Spirit in something like the right spot by knowing he's the one who showed up on Pentacost. He seems to be the one who gives us our "doer," -- our ability to move in God.

But one fateful night in my room I was yet again depressed i was in the state of mind where i didnt care if I died, i took a look at my life everything i did everything i had and saw it as trash i had no reason to be alive and I knew it. I then got on my knees thinking to myself how Christians always seem to be happy and have a reason to live and I wanted that, next thing you know being the cry baby i am i was bawling again and I begged God to save me, I said I didnt care if he took my video games or everything I own as long as he would come into my heart. I then crawled into bed still drenched in tears and said to myself he won't answer i wouldn't even answer me and went to sleep. I don't think I even dreamed that night but I woke up the next morning different.

as soon as I woke I could feel how the holy spirit was alive in me like a burning fire loaded with power and life, i didnt even need coffee to wake up like i always do i jumped out of bed dancing with joy and I swore to him that I would give him my all in return for what he did for me. however I didnt have anyone to teach me about being a Christian, I walked up to a church nearby and asked a pastor to teach me.
You stated in this post here "however I don't know the holy spirit at all".
So what happened since "Blain's testimony 2- A journey into faith" where you stated "as soon as I woke I could feel how the holy spirit was alive in me ?

There are times I need to say Father - we all have those times. To receive a loving embrace.
There are times I need to say Jesus - mostly in praise and thanksgiving. To submit myself to.
There are times I need to say "Comfort me Holy Spirit" because His name is Comforter. To ask Him to quicken the Word to me.

But it was when I began saying "my" in front of all these names that something clicked in my spirit. "My father" "My Jesus" etc.

It is good to even go through the Psalms and look at the way David addressed God "My rock" "My high tower" etc. So I learn from his example and make it more personal such as " Lord, my strength" - "my healer" - "my wisdom"

John 14:16-17
16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:26
26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Maybe I should have explained myself better lol.
as GracethroughfaithinChrist posted when I saved I encountered the holy spirit in a supernatural way, as posted he was like a fire burning inside me a power that flowed through my veins. I noticed that ever since then ever since i became saved fire has always been a major part of me, my faith and my love with God. some could call me giving into the (feeling) of the holy spirit or(feeling) the fire burning inside me but I don't seek this fire it just happens. randomly at any point of the day even as I could be typing on cc I am sometimes consumed by this fire, this fire is very interesting it makes me strong very strong but it also seems makes me seek and know love and trust God more than I usually can.

Convallaria mentioned many things I experience a lot, firstly I have no doubt that when I was saved that experience I had was the baptism of the holy spirit John said that he baptized with water but Jesus would come and baptize by fire. I also have seen clear a s day thatas i grew closer to God I saw my heart begin to obtain his deisres to seek what he seeks to love what he does and to hate what he hates almost as if our hearts were slowly becoming one like a special connection of the hearts was made, and When I don't have the words to speak to God I let him read my heart, even as I prayed the other day when I spoke to him about the promises I made to him in the beginning of my faith how I would be strong like him that I would see only through his eyes and his alone that I would be love above all else that his heart would be mine that I would seek a a love relationship and faith with him that is of a dangerous level because the cost of such a thing may mean I suffer greatly and severely for his sake and for others and that I am not afraid of the cost even if it was so severe I would suffer in the fires of hell for the sake of just one lost child no matter how cruel or evil their hearts are no matter how stained their souls are with blood.

even as I say these things i can hear the small whispers of doubt trying to sneak in trying to make me think my promises to him were mere empty words and vain promises and so I boldly said to God Lord search my heart look into the deepest depths of it and YOU tell me if I meant what I said if I am not willing to go that far if I will not give everything. I was not afraid and had no doubt what he would find I don't rely on my own strength or the strength of my faith I rely 100and 10% on his power on his love his ability not my own which is why I can boldly challenge him to search my heart.

the fire that is always burning inside me makes me pour out my heart, I don't have to feel it it doesn't have to consume me for me to know that it is always burning that it never weakens and only continues to always burn stronger more intensely and always out of love. The holy spirit has been extremely active in my heart and faith however I notice that while i talk to God whether I am talking to father or Jesus I feel as if I am talking to both and sometimes I speak to one of them directly but when I speak to the holy spirit himself it's the same as when I first began learning to pray to God, I don't know how to speak to him it feels odd speaking to him directly like when you first meet someone and you try to talk to them but there is that awkwardness that uncertainly of what to say or how to say it until you get to know them more.

II Cor. 13:14 “The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” John 3:16 tells us that God the Father so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. But here we are told that we can have fellowship with the Spirit because he seeks partnership with us in life and ministry.

Fellowship is speaking with. Enjoying the presence of.

Once again God is Spirit and that is His essence. There is Father and Son who are God who are Spirit.
Jesus is our comforter in person and our another comforter in Spirit. He is our one AND only interceder and meadiator. the bible clearly tells us this from beginning to end.

it's not as though these are of a different heart, or have a different character in any way at all.

He is one God, and He does not change.

The Holy Spirit resides within every believer to bestow guidance and empowerment.

Our culture does not train us to hear and discern voices from within.

I believe that if you pray for help in recognizing the Holy Spirit's voice; God will indeed help you to build fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

even as I prayed the other day when I spoke to him about the promises I made to him in the beginning of my faith how I would be strong like him that I would see only through his eyes and his alone that I would be love above all else that his heart would be mine that I would seek a a love relationship and faith with him that is of a dangerous level because the cost of such a thing may mean I suffer greatly and severely for his sake and for others and that I am not afraid of the cost even if it was so severe I would suffer in the fires of hell for the sake of just one lost child no matter how cruel or evil their hearts are no matter how stained their souls are with blood.

Hi Blain, What we go through as children of God is sometimes hard to express in fleshly terms. What you say here reminds me of Romans 8:26 "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

The motion and intent of the Holy Spirit in us is to accomplish the will of God. You are right, suffering is something we have to go through, but this is because God is forming Christ in us, making us truly spiritual people able to hear His emotions and feel His love, and live and move in His powerful truth. The things of God cannot come by fleshly means: the flesh would opt for an easy life but suffering furnishes us with aspects of the character of Christ. We don't have to understand it, just submit to the process and trust Him to complete it. Suffering for righteousness' sake like you outlined is what the fellowship of Christs sufferings is. Your willingness to go through that tells me God has His hand on you.

I am wondering if you received a gift of tongues at some point. This is an example of something we can't understand "how" but we know God is accomplishing something by it. If it is prophecy then others will be comforted, challenged, exhorted, encouraged etc; if the tongue is intercessory, things will change in the heavenlies on behalf of those we intercede for and their circumstances change for the good, according to the will of God. Again, we may not know what we are saying...though sometimes a vision or interpretation may accompany the prayer tongue which will reveal the situation prophetically.

Keep pressing on. Remember this is not a popularity contest: the more clearly you hear God and respond to His Spirit, the more you will attract criticism from those who settle for the doubtful comfort of the religious flesh.

Much love and God bless you!

Oh, but you DO know Him. It is only by the Spirit that you know Christ and God. It is only by the Spirit that you prophesy and give wisdom. And you do prophesy and give wisdom my young friend. Not to bloat you of course but to inspire fire in your belly! And that's really the gist of it all, you need to know God and Christ to best discern how the Spirit is going to work thru you. The Spirit is the active agent in this age, and everything He does is going to be modeled after Christ, Who is modeled after God. By knowing God and Christ, you will discern the true Spirit from the imposters. And you will need that in these days of miracles ahead.

Father God, I believe it is time. Baptize this young man in Your Spirit, that the fire in his belly be fed by Your flood.

Amen!

That scripture reminds me of how God and I are sometimes, before I even knew that scripture when I was still brand new in faith God and I would have intimate moments where he and I would pour our feelings of love for each other into each others hearts, these feelings for each other were too deep for words in a literal sense the human tongue could not express the depth and richness of the love for each other, God and I have always had a very deep and intimate love for each other and so it's very easy for him and I to connect this way.

I do not have the gift of tongues as far as I know but perhaps prophecy. I do have prophetic dreams some have come true some haven't I have been told by a few ppl they think I am going to be a powerful prophet one day, I still am not comfortable with the idea of being called a prophet though. I was also told I am a type of prophet called a seer which considering the things i see I suppose makes sense. I see things in my minds eye, sometimes it's something like what I described as what I see the holy spirit as sometimes it's God's heart sometimes it's the face and eyes of Jesus other times it's a series of events showing what looks like a future me in God and many other different things, in fact the first and only time I met an angel I saw him with my minds eye not my physical eye.

anything that I have or am strong in at all is not because of me but only by the grace of God. He has been far more than generous in teaching me showing me and growing me in faith love and who he is. I am always eager for him to show me and teach me I am always listening always ready always willing and whatever he gives me if possible I intend to give back at least three times as much. I am nothing on my own I have no power no strength and if I don't rely on him 100% I have no hope of ever understanding the things of God.

btw your sig is excellent I have said the very same thing many time here in cc:)
