So I believe in the God head three in one father spirit son, I have a deep and personal love and relationship with both father and jesus however I don't know the holy spirit at all shouldn't I have such a love and bond with him as well?
I wonder what he is like and how he would interact with me I have always seen him as a combination of love power and fire maybe I am wrong maybe not.
But is it the same as building a relationship with Jesus and God? Do I simply just talk to him?
What a wonderful question!
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ Whom we receive when we are born again. Since Father Son and Holy Spirit are One, we don't have to worry that we are leaving anyone out when praying to God because He will hear.
In Acts 19, Paul finds some disciples who have not received the Holy Spirit: they were believers but they hadn't received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Paul recognized their lack and laid hands on them, following which they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
Having received the Holy Spirit, He is in us and will guide us into all truth. He prompts us to speak (or to stay silent) and propels us forward in ministry in whatever capacity God has given us. When we receive Him we know we are different on the inside, and He becomes the dynamic power of our new nature, inseparable from us, giving us the desire and the ability to serve God acceptably.
I believe there are many believers like those in Acts 19 who have not yet received the Holy Spirit. In my case, when I was converted I just asked the Lord Jesus to come into my heart and into my life and change me, and He did. I was ready to let go of all things I had previously leaned on as true, in order to receive Christ. Pretty much immediately I realized things were different: I was feeling promptings inside me and knowing things I had not known before. Having said that, it was a little while later that I understood the new experiences were because I had received the Holy Spirit, who comforted me powerfully from the scriptures as though they were lit up to my heart with a heavenly highlighter pen
It was a while after that I received the
baptism with the Holy Spirit, a powerful personal experience that we are promised. Immediately I was thrown forward in faith and in ministry, and the manifestation of the gift of tongues followed.
When I pray I say Father, or Lord, and if I am asking anything, I ask in Jesus' name. The reverance isn't lacking at all as it is in my heart towards God, rather than the words I might utter. With the Holy Spirit, all my stutterings and stumblings over words become no obstacle because God looks on the heart. Without the Holy Spirit, no amount of pious King James speech will make the words acceptable
.
I hope that helps! I love your boldness.
