Looking Back!

1. Look back Just one year, how far have you gone with God for that year?
2. What can you do better within yourself for the year ahead?

I know we are not to look into the past, but I thought to throw you just a couple of questions for you to think about regarding you and God.

Write down how far you felt you had gone, and what can you better for the year ahead.

well, last year was a bad year for my family and myself. Different members ended up in the ER, along with myself. On Thanksgiving day, my dad was shoveling snow and suddenly couldn't breathe..He went in the house and my mom called 911. Turns out an artery in his heart was blocked so he spent two weeks in hospital and had stents put in his heart.

On Christmas day, my brother got kicked by a horse and broke his wrist. He went to ER where they set the wrist and released him. He still has problems with it and may need surgery.

Then my turn came for the ER. THREE times. :( I had a herniated disk in my back, so bad that I was stuck in bed from November-March, and lost the use of my left leg for awhile. It's still pretty weak.. After the 3rd ER trip I was hospitalized for 3 days. They gave me pain meds around the clock, because they needed to do an MRI, and I had to be comfortable enough to lay still in the machine.. It wasn't until 2 days later that I could finally endure through the MRI..

During the time I was stuck in bed here at home, BEFORE I went to the hospital, I was in such agonizing pain, omgosh.. I couldn't move, couldn't walk or stand.. My neighbors had to take out my trash for me because I couldn't do it.. I lay here contemplating if I'd ever be able to move again.. I relied on God to get me through.. If you read my pain testimony, you'll see how he helped me.. :)

I guess what I learned through all that was that I can't rush through life, sometimes I need to let God slow me down. I literally was forced to take baby steps during those months.. Hard to do for someone who is used to moving at extreme speed. I would say my faith has definitely been strengthened and my ability to defeat the devil is still intact.. :) Read my testimony, Richie.. It's at the top of this forum..

I've gone light years ahead with God in the last year.

That probably didn't make any sense? Sorry.
It does to me.

One of the things l'm working on, is making sense, so others can understand me a little better.

I know what you mean and it made perfect sense. My relationship has been that way with God this past year and for that I am truly thankful. Thanks for sharing :)

I had a lot of heartbreak last year my grandpa, whom I was very close with passed away and as a result of that my grandma was placed in a memory care facility. My sister and her husband found out she was pregnant, only to find out that she miscarried a week later. I was verbally assaulted by a church elder who followed me to the parking lot, my dad ended up in the ER because the EMT's thought he was having a heart attack and honestly, that is just scratching the surface of what happened. Anyway, as a result of this happening I blamed God and told him it was his fault for taking my Grandpa away from me because I really needed him to hug me and say everything was going to be okay. It took about six months before God really spoke to me and made me realize I was completely wrong and needed to make amends with him and I did. Looking back I realized this heartbreak made me stronger in Christ. The start of 2015 was a bit rough, but it began getting better as each passing day. I have actually made several friends and found I am a total flirt. Lol. But seriously God has been teaching me to put all my trust and faith in him and I have and yes, I do have my bad days where I question things but I know that God is always faithful to his promises and so until that promise is fulfilled I am to be obedient, worship him, and be reading/studying the living word of God.
