Thought this would be the place to post a strange idea tuhst popped into my head just now. Hoping this place would be the least judgemental..? Lol anyway.

adam, eve and the devil...
could adam and eve represent or even be our spirit.. the devil represent or actually is our flesh.. or human side?

Hope that someone else can see your thread and comment on it.

interesting thought. i always thought adam and eve represent a golden age until they disobeyed our Lord.

the flesh IMO has a sinful nature within it, we can sin without the help of satan, but as we grow in spirit it strengthens our spirit but no matter how much we grow satan will always test us. by testing us it keeps our free will turned to the Lord. hope that made sense

No, not at all. Be careful not to entertain decidedly Gnostic, and therefore non-biblical, notions about Adam and Eve and the Devil and the nature of sin.

Adam n Eve spirit side of the human our thoughts, Evil fleshly side of the human taken into action.

everyone at one point in our lives has thought in a sinful way doesn't mean we have sinned but if we act on it then that's a whole different ball game it's sinning, for Adam complained about Eves actions but God told Adam what I tell you to do Adam basically Was not to follow what Eve was doing but Adam did and blamed eve for his own actions.

Ill elaborate a little more.

Adam and Eve where created in His image. He is Spirit (no?)

Our flesh is our free will and could represent the serpent?

we have always been in conflict between our flesh and spirit. (Adam, Eve Vs flesh? (or serpent?)?) Human spirit vs flesh

We chose to entertain the desires of the flesh .was not through the help of a third party (perhaps?) But is our free will in action.

the more we entertain the flesh the less the spirit is noticed and the more the flesh is noticed

Jesus has given us the opportunity to find our spirit again. Sacrificed the flesh to make the spirit known again.

I don't know if one can be perfect without the possibility of free will. So to make his creation perfect it had to have a free will? (flesh?)

When you think about it, it could make sense....? It would help stop people from blaming the devil or god. We can just blame ourselves instead for entertaining our flesh for so long...?

It's messing up my mind to try and comprehend this kinda stuff so ill stop now

There is some truth to what you say, but I'd stop over-spritualizing early Genesis. It's truth, but it's also history. Read it as history. Trying to make everything a parable does great violence to God's Word.

Wasn't trying to over spiritualize genesis. There is a major element of mankind that wonders where we came from and why. I am just trying to look at it from a different perspective.
I reckon religion would do well to re-set what we think we know, become like children and pray God shows us the truth from Him, not man.

Okay, that's good. But we have God's Word the Bible. That's the truth He's given us, and Holy Spirit to guide us.

True, but you wonder how much of what is commonly taught about the bible has been thanks to the guidance from the Holy Spirit.
You don't have to look far to see so much disunity due to scripture. Dare I say due to scriptures miss guided interpretations from man

True. There are things we have to unlearn and others we have to relearn. But there are many teachings that are correct. Can you give some examples you can think of that you have trouble with? Also, it's translations like the KJV that have often led to many strange teachings. If more people read modern translations and studied them, they would be better off.

One of the things I find the hardest to believe is one that is fundamental to Christianity actually.

I believe that people can find God through other religions because I don't believe people find God because of what we are taught within religion. And I do take all belief structures as a religion, including Jesus because it is a religion to others.

People find God because they are searching with a sincere heart. Imo

Well, that's one area I'd have to disagree with you on. There is only one Way, one Truth, one Life. And that is Jesus Christ. People can look for Him in other religions, but they will only see how empty the counterfeits are. By the way, it's God who draws people to Him, not people who find God. God has opened His hands to all of us, with the gift of Grace. But not everyone has chosen to take this Grace for themselves and received it.

I believe Jesus has pathed the way for all to know God. He is the grace of God. I don't believe the Grace of God is limited to the walls of Christianity. God draws ALL people to Him. All people are victims of our upbringing which includes you and me. Hypothetically if we were born in a strict Islamic state under a strict Muslim traditional family there is little chance that we will give Christianity the time of day. But our heart on the other hand may be crying out for the truth and God. God searches the world for HEARTS that love him.

Sure all religions will lead you to God but only one religion will lead you to eternal life.

The problem with your concept is that the flesh vs spirit conflict is not relevant until a person receives Christ and receive a New Spirit...the flesh having the sin nature. No one has a "good" spirit until they are born-again.

Maybe not relevant because the flesh is all we know. We are so blinded by our fleshly desires and choices that we don't even know the spirit is there. But it is and more real than we know.

I would think our spirit was created perfect (in His image), Our flesh on the other hand is a reflection of our own choices and free will compounded by time of living within it's desires only.
We started of realising we where naked and it has just snowballed since then...

Maybe your point is relevant to Adam and the time before sin came to dominate mankind...But the New Testament principal of flesh and spirit is based upon us having received a new and perfect spirit...

And many of us are not blinded by our flesh but walk in the spirit.

Im not trying to dis your thread or your thoughts...just thought New Testament understanding should be brought into the picture. :)
