First off, anyone who clicked this "gender-neutral" option instead of "male" or female" would be held on a VERY tight reign; no flirting allowed by them whatsoever, nor may they discuss body issues with another member, under penalty of immediate ban. In theory it'd mainly be used by those did not want to flirt or be flirted with; they would only allowed to be treated in a totally platonic way and act so themselves. There would also be those who honestly have confusion issues in that area of life and have come here hoping to get said issues resolved. Another group would be those who are content being celibate, yet do not identify with the gender with which they were born (like a certain former user). Also self-described "gender-fluid" seekers who have come to the site wanting to learn and hopefully get issues resolved (I talked to a girl with such a mental condition a year ago). There are also those to whom Matthew 19:12 pertains:
[h=2]For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.[/h]

Some of the folks about whom the preceding verse mentioned may prefer to click the "non-specified" button, though I don't consider those men to be any less masculine than "standard" ones :).

Any user who clicked said button would not be able to see the Women's Forum or join the "Men's Discussion" chat group, and his/her screen name could perhaps be green instead of blue or pink.

Hi all, it's probably more of an issue in the chat rooms where women often get hit on a lot. Giving them the option to not say whether they are male or female specifically, would, imo, make it easier on someone who is shy and ONLY here for fellowship. I think I unintentionally made it sound like I found it acceptable to claim to be a mature Christian and insist that one is gender-fluid or a different sex than the one which he or she was born as, which it is not.

Anyway, like I mentioned, I think it'd mainly get used by people who just don't want much attention, and to help with that end result, they'd rather not give info about themselves :).

Btw, I'd prefer that people not be able to hide their age anymore, like the way it used to be on this site; made it easier to catch those who were fibbing.

I'm sorry, but I'm totally confused about the purpose of this thread. Has there been a spate of inappropriate flirting going on? I don't open every thread but I haven't seen much if any of that.

Yes, but you can't change your age without a mod's intervention. A number of people tripped themselves up by claiming to be a different age than the one shown and were reported; to be a "good" liar you have to be careful, and most people aren't.

It happens a lot in the live chat rooms, as I mentioned in post number eight :).

OOPS!! Net disconnected before I could fix the post in time. Here's how the bit to Ember should read:

why should we change to stop people flirting on the chat room, we shouldn't be encourage lying. all you do is not speak to these people and they soon go away. i think you can block them.
or tell a mod and they can have a word with them or kick them out

huh

well, come the wedding day, I guess that would have become noticeable

I'm so sorry...I know you are serious...but I can't be serious in my response to you...might have something to do with the fact that I am on Tylenol 3's for pain...had a tooth removed...big ole molar guy...cause it was beyond redemption...and I have dense bone (maybe brain too) and roots that tickle my toes and it took an hr to get it out...in pieces

I'm being ridiculous but enjoying it

Hmmmm..... I'm thinking of putting a picture of my grandma on here and editing my age to 70.... No just kidding. Lol. I don't have the wisdom of knowledge that she did, yet. Yea there is some flirting. I've had messages sent. I brush them off and go on with my day. It's a great site. I like the fact of knowing if I'm talking to a woman or a man because there are some things I would discuss with a woman that I would not to a man. Just my opinion though.
