From my understanding the bible only says heaven is there and its a good place. the exact details are not there and if they were we probably coudnt understand them.

so when you imagine what its like what kind of image pops into your head? and what did your parents tell you when you were a kid?

But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—

So I know its a lot better than we can imagine!

but I do believe that we will be out of the three dimensions and into many dimensions. And that is beyond my imagination or dimension!
:D

Can you imagine........'Im going to Orion's belt for my morning coffee, I will be back in a bit."

I don't think heaven is a place. I think it is what your life turns into after you repent of you sin:

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV
I think the place we go when we die is the resurrection.

They say home is where your heart is, my heart is in God's arms. Heaven for me is simply being in his arms forever and ever, even if it was in hell as long as I am in his arms and I am his and he is mine then I have my heaven

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
As long as this is accurate, that's all I care about.

The heavens are the waters above the earth and in which the earth stands in the midst of. One day the heavens shall pass away with a great noise. Therefore we look forward to a new heaven and a new earth.

Of far more interest to me than what heaven will be like, is what it won't be
like.

To begin with; according to Rev 21:8 and Rev 21:27 there won't any
dishonesty in heaven.

One of the more common forms of dishonesty is dissembling, which can be
defined as concealing your true feelings by deliberately giving people the
impression that you feel some other way. Now that you know about
dissembling, watch how often you do it in the weeks to come. I think you'll
be surprised how often you've been practicing dissembling without thinking
because it's so natural.

Other aspects of dishonesty are:

Bald faced lies
Whoppers
White lies
Deception
Side-stepping
Denial
Guile
Half truths
Making promises with no intention of keeping them
Slander
Pretense
Feigning innocence
Falsifying information
Putting up a front
Misleading information
Rationalizing
Embellishing
Deliberate omission of pertinent facts
Hyperbole
Semantic double speak
Insincerity
Sophistry
Spinning

If we can go by the Beatitudes, then we can safely assume that heaven will
be a place of peace and kindness; which means there will be no cruelty of
any kind; for example malicious gossip, demeaning comments, thoughtless
remarks, name-calling, toxic rejoinders, discourtesy, chafing, quarrelling,
bickering, mockery, relentless ridicule . . .

. . . fault-finding, nit picking, spite, carping, bullying, heckling, intimidation,
wiseacre retorts, needling, taunting, biting sarcasm, petty ill will, yelling,
ugly insinuations, cold-shouldering, calculated insults, snobbery, elitism,
arrogance, subterfuge, antisocial behaviors, sociopaths, crime, war,
despotism, oppression, injustice, human rights abuses, character
assassination, etc, etc, et al, and ad nauseam.

Heaven will also be a place of sexual purity.

†. Rev 21:8 . . But the vile and the sexually immoral— their place will be in
the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.

The koiné Greek word for "vile" is bdelusso (bdel-oos'-so) which essentially
means to stink; viz: disgusting.

When it comes right down to it; heaven is not everyone's cup of tea. Some
people would be very frustrated if they couldn't be themselves there. They'd
really be out of their element.

Rev. 22: 1-5

The River of Life Then the angel1 showed me xthe river of ythe water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 through the middle of zthe street of the city; aalso, on either side of the river, bthe tree of life2 with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were cfor the healing of the nations. 3 dNo longer will there be anything accursed, but ethe throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and fhis servants3will worship him. 4 gThey will see his face, and hhis name will be on their foreheads. 5 And inight will be no more. They will need no light of lamp jor sun, for kthe Lord God will be their light, and lthey will reign forever and ever.

The glory of God so magnified that our breath is taken away.
Celestial music so beautiful that we must join in and worship.

What my parents told me as a kid is irrelevant. What I imagine is irrelevant. From my understanding of the Bible the one and only purpose of heaven is to worship and glorify God forever. And that is what his family will want to do. That is joy!

i asked my mamaw when i was a kid and she said everyone was dressed in white and we would sing all the time. this made me think of ancient greece with the greek columns everywhere and everyone wearing those white toga robes singing all day and all night. this thought kinda weirded me out when i was a kid as i really didnt want to wear goofy white robes or sing all time, i just wanted to go fishing and swimming or play starwars.

For me personally I like to imagine. Honestly, the thought of sitting around on my knees for eternity and singing, doesn't seem like fun to me.

Thats why I think there will be many dimensions and we will see and be with the Lord no matter what we choose to do. His omnipresence will be seen there.

If we decide to go check out the new heavens and explore his creative genius, that is worship and He will be there with each and every individual personally.

If we decide to go check out the new earth and explore there, He will be with each and every individual on a personal level.

I would love to mine for Gold and I would do it for free in this life if I could. Someone has to mine the Gold for the new streets! I think it will be an active place and we will worship the Lord in everything we do and have perfect fun doing it.

I used to think in a narrow-minded way regarding God´s "needs"... If God wanted robots, he woud not have created angels self-willed and, if you see (on the Bible) that "out there" in Heavens there was a huge rebelion that brought out Satan and ITS fallen angels, you may see God gave THEM free will, to make their own choices (and humankind also has it).

1) If God "lacked" anything, like being worshipped ALL THE TIME, He could be SELFISH not giving other creatures their own life to live (and enjoy)... Were we created to be God´s pets, by the way?

2) If He was so "selfcentered" (as so many ppl insist on believing He is) I would not love Him, I could not love Him, because I lacked free will (and Jesus showed He placed His placed His will under God´s hands).

3) I like what the Scripture says, regarding the place of free will, wooed at, with LOVE bonds:

Jer 31:33 Here is the new agreement that I, the LORD, will make with the people of Israel: "I will write my laws on their hearts and minds. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

"Heb 10:16 "When the time comes, I will make an agreement with them. I will write my laws on their minds and hearts.

I liken heaven to this Brother. Remember when we were kids before "cares" came into our world. Everything was new and exciting. Not a care in the world. even going out and digging the bait or catching the bait to go fishing was FUN. Riding the horse down to the river and imagining you are your favorite hero.........Innocent.
