I think the Bible is to instruct, to edify, to encourage, for prophecy and contains promises to believers.

I believe God wants me to be well and able to not only take care of my household but to help others.

So when I pray for His help and blessing and expect to recieve it, when I take hold of a scripture like Isaiah 53 and expect God to extend mercy and healing, why would I be considered a WoF heretic?

If I can ask my earthly father for help and expect it why should I not be able to ask my heavenly Father?

I don't understand why some feel it necessary to kill hope and faith........

Anyway I'm going on record as believing God loves me, He has forgiven me because of Jesus and He intervenes everyday in my life to make straight the path before me and I thank Him daily

Bless the LORD o my soul and all that is within me bless His holy name.

Confidence in the Lord is often times seen as arrogant, I have experienced this before. You are on the right path

Sweet Sister, as soon as I read your post, this song rang in my heart. I haven't heard this lovely song in over 10 years but your op brought it right to my mind. (II Timothy 1:12) :D

It is always good to confess the Lord's words as belonging to you.
After that is deep in your heart, expect everything, and accept what is.

That is the hardest lesson to learn. Because when He is in your life, no matter what your circumstances, it is all good. He is there with you.

Thank you, truly. I love the Lord and it just seems He is portrayed as either a nit-picker or cold and removed from us.

that's not the God I know....

singing "I love to tell the story of unknown things above, of Jesus and His mercy and Jesus and His Love.."

Do you really feel like a heretic or was that sarcasm?

There is not anyone who can kill your hope and faith! You can say that but
its far reaching isnt it? It is a false perception. Your hope and faith is between you and God alone!
I say that with all due respect. I am not here to cause strife but merely offer my point of view. So plz take what I say as a gentle voice that speaks frankly :)

Did someone call you WOF person or did you assume this label?

There is a vast difference between name it claim it and believing in Gods promises.

WOF take Gods word and twists it. If there is stink in the air about certain thinking and "preachers" its worth looking into. The Lord says there is wisdom in the multitude of council. That means WISE men have gathered and made a decision! We measure whether they are wise against Gods word and whom they choose to hang out with. We look at their history and history of those opposing them. Then we weigh it against scripture again!

Some will get defensive and not choose to look at it reasonably and some will change their thinking because they want to honor God alone and not a man. We all falter in our walks! Its a process with guidance from our merciful loving Father. There is not one living person who is infallible.

The SUM of scripture is how we determine our answers and not just SOME of scripture.

I think the issue is that some take scripture out of context. Ill give you an example:

Psalm 37:4
Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

What that scripture is saying is when we align our hearts to Gods will our desires will match his desires. ie Mind of Christ. It is simpler said than done! We have to apply ourselves. It isnt easy believism. 2 Tim 2:15

Some will naively use that scripture as their compass that whatever they ask for;God will deliver. Thats simply not true. Gods ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He also tells us that our hearts are very deceitful.

We cannot know what God wants for our lives until we submit to his will. We must apply ourselves so that we have the mind of Christ.

Confidence in Christ is great as long as we are using the Bible as our guide! Its not arrogant to have the faith of a child but it is naive to assume that whatever you ask for you will receive

For the record:

I second this!!

"Anyway I'm going on record as believing God loves me, He has forgiven me because of Jesus and He intervenes everyday in my life to make straight the path before me and I thank Him daily

Bless the LORD o my soul and all that is within me bless His holy name."

May the Lord bless you abundantly!

If you believed that God was ALWAYS going to bless you, ALWAYS keep you wealthy, and ALWAYS keep you healthy, then you would be guilty of ignoring so much Scripture, that yes, you would be a heretic.

God tells us that we will have trials and tribulations in this life, but he will be with us (Isa. 43:1-4). He tells us we will suffer, but that he will use it to give us endurance, and that will produce a godly character. (Romans 5:3-5) We are even to "count it all joy," when bad things happen. (James 1:2-4)

The problem with believing that nothing bad is ever going to happen to you, is that you will not have a strong Biblical theology when the tough times come. It may even drive you apart in your relationship with Christ.

But believing in God's love, caring, forgiveness is ALWAYS right! So we can rely on God to be there for us, change us, and carry us through to death. It is never about us in the end, but about God.

Putting God first means you are not a heretic. Personally, I have not read anything in your posts, Psalm6819 that indicates to me that you are a heretic. Just my two cents worth!

Thank you, Angela, last night I had a one woman revival, I reminisced with some of the oldies but goodies (ty VR)
Ie, The Old Rugged Cross, Blessed Assurance, It is No Secret What God Can Do, He Touched me, He Walks with Me and just remembered His mercy and lovingkindness.

I live in the real world so I know it's not a picnic but I know my Jesus overcame the world, so like Job, I'll trust Him and no other.
