I remember being told writing cursive is one of the most important things I will need to learn for the rest of my life in 4th grade... To this day, I only use it for a signature. One of the biggest lies they tell you in school. Lies I say!

My middle school teachers told me that in high school the teachers wouldn't accept anything that wasn't in cursive. Yet everyone turned in print and typed assignments galore!

Handwriting is such a lost and dying art. There's nothing better than sending or receiving a real hand-written letter in the mail, meaning the good old-fashioned postal service, and something that's at least 2 pages and not just 2 sentences long.
Every year, my Christmas cards are a pretty big production for me. Last year I sent out something like 60 cards (I try to start in October) and each card gets a 4-page typed "newsletter" of what's happened in the last year. However, it's important to me to always hand-write the envelopes and cards, in which I ask about their families, personal situations, and sign off with a tailored-to-their-own-life best wish or prayer for their life.
Of course, the only way I'm able to do this is that I'm single with no pets! (And this was my long way of saying, "You Go, Cmarieh!" because handwriting (along with neatly organized archives) are amazing things that often seem lost in today's world.

I too love to write out letters and little notes rather than texting or sending an email because it loses its sentiment, although face to face is much better, but what else can we do? I have so many notes and letters that I never gave out. Lol. I remember back before cell phones were popular and yes there was a time like that, lol. Anyway, my friends and I would pass notes back and forth talking about a cute boy in class and what not. The worst part was we got caught and the teacher read the note to the entire class. Thats how a guy found out that I liked him
i sponsor a little girl, and i love receiving her letters in the mail. as for me, i send my letters via the ministry website. i do this because it keeps a copy of my letter in my profile. since her writing back takes a while, i often forget what i said in my last letter lol.
i had a friend who was in jail for a while, and i would write to him often. sadly, after he got out, our friendship kinda disappeared. idk why, but i know he's doing ok, so that's good.

Would be interesting to see her reaction if he was a weirdo/someone strange or in a "bad neighbor"...

when i was in college, i was on my way to my internship when my tire went out. it was scary for me because i was on the highway, at 5ish pm, and every exit led to another highway. gah! thank God, i made it to a gas station. of course, i don't know how to change a tire. i called my then boyfriend, but he wasn't able to get to me. that's when a random stranger approached me and asked if i needed help. he changed my tire.
i think the reasons why i didn't freak out was because 1) i was at a busy gas station, so several people were around, and 2) it wasn't a night.

Seriously, this thread is filled with joy and peace ad love and you jump in here and immediately perceive a conspiracy against you? You've been asked several times to lighten up. Almost everyone in this room has attempted to fellowship with you but you keep being unreasonable and offensive.
Let me remind you of the 2nd rule listed on this site:
2. No conduct that is offensive or counterproductive to fellowship.
We like to welcome all to Christian Chat, but if anyone is not here for fellowship (or for wanting to know about Christianity), but simply for disrupting fellowship, offending people, whatever, then that person is not welcome.
I am going to report you if you don't stop disrupting the fellowship in this room. If you feel you have a legitimate complaint, contact the Administrators only. Don't keep punishing everyone in this room.
