Isnt the love of money the root of all evil? How can you serve God while loving money? That is a contradiction of scripture! Would you like to rephrase that?
1 Timothy 6:
8If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. 9But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 11But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. 12Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
I would encourage you to be very active in the forums! You will learn scripture if you apply yourself! In no time at all you will be one of the ones who is followed by babes to learn. Just do it!

Excellent post. I was going to say he's the maniacal tare who loves to begin threads by condemning all of us then for the most part disappears except for sharing a few smug afterthoughts. But you came out swinging and hit a grand slam!
That's why I have finally blocked him. He has scriptural messages that are for the saints but out of a wrong spirit. He says he's giving exhortation but I feel it's more exaltation of himself to try and bring us weaklings to his level. Neither will he accept any humble instruction.Excellent post. Unfortunately I can still see the threads he creates.
I know exactly where you're coming from. In the midst of my very real attempt to be more humble and less confrontational with others, he comes along and kindles my anger with his Pharisaic arrogance. I should put him on ignore but calling him out on his garbage is necessary for the time being.

To clarify, there are many forms of love: I love it in the sense that I appreciate the $$ that helps put food on the table and a house over my head. I love all good gifts that not only meet my needs, but are given by God for just my joy. I do not love it in the sense that I'm dependent on it or do I work for it. In fact, all the counseling that I have done as a licensed spiritual counselor has been for no charge. Money is not my happiness. It is not my Joy. I would have it all without money.
I don't have a longing for it. And I pursue righteousness, godliness, etc. Money has never tempted me to compromise my service to the Lord nor has it tempted me to sin nor wander from the faith.
I bash him because he shuts out the Kingdom of Heaven against everyone. And as far as me being an extremist, you better believe I am. I'm extreme at embracing the grace and sharing it with others, giving all honor and glory to Jesus Christ.
Jesus gives us life, but the mikkos of the world try to take it away. I stand by my words.
