Wow, especially that last verse is just... It shows with how much passion and led by the Holy Spirit he was filled.

I accepted that word in the same rational as you used it. But truth be known, in some parts of the world, it is the same as the other word. Try tush, bottom, butt, seat, derriere, tuckus, rear, posterior end, south end of a north bound donkey, bum, or sacrum cushion to stay on the safe side. (The advantages of writing a novel for middle graders. I've learned a lot of words to replace the words I'm thinking. lol)

I had THAT grandmother. You know the type. You didn't want to curse in front of her or you feared she'd have a heart attack. Butt and bum were acceptable. Rear end or derriere was preferred. Butthead got a stern look, but neither a heart attack nor a spanking. The word we're debating here might have won me a thump with her silver thimble upside my head. Sometimes that hurt worse than her spankings. (She had arthritic hands, so, granted, her spankings never matched her hubby's spankings nor my Dad's. lol) The one none of us dare say was heart attack worthy, even if we were talking about donkeys. But she sure taught me what was or wasn't grandmother-approved language. lol

Lol I hear ya! We learned some new words in school that got us in trouble.I remember dropping the F bomb cause I heard another kid say it.Shoot by the time I got a spanking,Bible verses and a good tongue lashing I felt lower than a snakes belly in a wagon rut. I was a lot more careful of trying out new words after that!

It gets worse. I was 14 and my 16 year old cousin went to the UK for a few weeks with a church group. (Episcopalian, and the pastor who took them was a family friend. The pastor was also over my grandmother's house that day, as we all gathered to celebrate my cousins return. BIG family gathering.)

Out in the yard, my cousin was telling stuff about the trip he didn't want the adults to know. He sneaked away one day and went to "a cat house." Well, I have always, always been naive, so I pictured a museum with a cat theme. He had a Siamese cat. His sister and brother both had Siamese cats, so it wasn't outside the possibilities of what a cat house was... at least in my mind. Although, I didn't really understand why my older brothers got excited about this. They didn't even like cats.

So, after the story was over, we all went inside, where that same grandmother, the pastor, my cousin's parents, and all the other parents were. The pastor was talking about how some kids sneaked off. He looked at my cousin and said, "So where did you sneak off to?"

I was very excited and said, "Yeah, tell about the cat house."

It took me 2-3 days before anyone told me what a cat house really was. Even then, I had no idea why he'd want to go to one of those. Ewwww! :eek:

Imagine that then... That he had to speak directly to the church to get their house in order so they don't judge each other. I would assume if their house (the church) isn't in order than the same rule applies towards the judgement of the non believer

I for one believe as many who will walk away from another who is in the world and judge them. Just the same will love on them. I have seen both sides and also have partaken in both sides. I was raised in a Christian home and was taught to never look down on anyone. While in my teens and early twenties I seen where homeless people would use the money they collected from passersby to support their drug habits which in turn made me twist my head and turn away from them.

When I truly gave my life to CHRIST and decided to live a life for HIM, HE gave me a heart to reach out to the lost. I'm involved in a church now that is all about outreach we go out in the communities and evangelize where others may not even know they are there. We go on Missions and feed, clothe, minister, provide aid, support, make friends and disciples, Internationally and Domestic . Yes it is truly Awesome! So I get where your coming from with the post, but it is very stern in your approach and for one to truly grasp it we are to love. Love is the key is grasp the heart, spirit and soul of a person and then you have the attention to share your heart. Just a thought. So now my question to you is please share what you are doing for the lost and not judging them?

Yes. It took me more than 30 years to find it, and when I did, it seemed like I had never actually been in a church before.... despite the fact that I have attended or visited scores of churches over the span of my life.

Yes, I know what you mean... I asked that question before reading further, which after reading the whole thread I realized that is the church you attend. In my early days as a Christian I was part of a huge congregation and also attended the smaller congregation of the Vineyard. I used to go to prayer meetings at the pastor's house; they discussed baptizing me, but I was going through the Alpha course at the large church at the same time, and baptism was the planned outcome of that for those who were up for it, and I certainly was done with my wandering the wilderness after more than three decades of it.

I found it very interesting to discover that John Wimber was a founder of that church. I am a huge fan of modern praise and worship music, and for many years listened almost exclusively to songs on their label, knowing that it would be an awesome rendition.
