That's simply not so. The assembly of the ekklesia as given to us in the NT, mainly by Paul, I'm whole heartedly in agreement with.
I'm a hundred percent for it, it's what I'm all about. It's what I long for. It's what I hunger for. So I cannot figure why some oppose me and accuse me of putting the 'church' down. It never happened and it never will.
Im glad we cleared the air! God bless one and all!

But you do criticize men we pay to spend the necessary time it takes to prepare a sermon that doesn't bore the congregation stiff.

You mean captain obvious is trying not to sound obvious? Many churches are unbiblical one man show. Rubbish. It's All idolatry and man pleasing. May God give his people eye salve to see through this. Ah but you know when you touched their sacred cow. When they protect it as a mother bear robbed of her welps!!! Bingo.

Again, I do not blast the the NT design for the open meeting assembly.
And yes I do expose that which is contrary to scripture....don't you? If not, why not?
You have been drugged by the traditions of men and by pagan liturgy whereby the word of God has no sway with you.
You keep defending that which is unbiblical at best and satanically inspired at worse!
If it keeps the body of Christ in perpetual babyhood, which it does, would calling it devilish be to harsh?
You either have no limited knowledge of NT scripture or you are part of the conspiracy to keep the body from coming into its full potential. I pray it's the first reason.

When I seen the title I knew it was you...!

I AGREE with almost all your points, so I don't have much issue with your bashing :)

That is just the point of giving a man the time and opportunity to spend the hours and hours necessary to create good, informative lessons for the body.... rather than expect some over-worked volunteer with a regular job to throw together a half-developed sermon for Sunday morning. Trust me, it shows when you have a part time guy trying to be a pastor.

How much time does it take to get a sermon together...most real sermons are taught us by the Holy Spirit as we walk out our daily lives... I have to agree with Yet on the issue of building these "ministries" for the ego of men. Having said that I give to those ministries where I know their real focus is the teaching of Christ and helping of the needy.

Just the fact that you asked a question like that speaks volumes.

What? did you not read the rest of my thought? I have actually preached and taught sermons and the idea that a man cannot work a real job and be a good minister of the Word is just not true...Paul makes this very clear and as I said the best sermons are those that are taught by the Holy Spirit in a living way, not based on theological theories.

Hebrews 6:1-3
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.[SUP]
3 [/SUP]And this will we do, if God permit.

Acts 20 for the millionth time. The elders are to work secular jobs. Not to lie around sponging off of the flock.

Yes, I have suffered through countless "sermons" where the speaker thought he was delivering a good lesson.... and no one had the nerve to tell him the truth.

Isn't that where someone feel asleep from the endless droning, and fell out of a window?

The senior minister at one of the churches I went to , whom I knew well and personally spent most of his time ministering to people either off the phone or in person. He was a hard man to get a hold of at times because he was always with someone. The depressed, suicidal, downcast, weak in the faith. I know why too, he oozed love. Was filled with wisdom and was lowly of heart. I prayed many times for God to make me like him bit God assured me it takes time and I have my own place within the body too.
I have no idea how he could've done what he was doing and work a regular job, ministering 7 days a week and nights. His wife earned good money as a very experienced nurse. I guess that helped their finances a lot.
The current church I go to now, the senior ministers didn't draw a 'wage' from the congregation for years, even with a mortgage and debt. They refused too, they probably just survived on wife's income as an accountant. I'm not sure what changed but I'm glad to help support the church with paying the rent at the community hall, missionary trips to the dirt in India, and supporting them in their day to day lives too. It is more blessed to give than receive.
I guess all churches aren't as bad as some make it seem.

So whats your point? does getting paid make someone a better minister? Is the Pope more godly because he is treated like a pop star? Was Jim Jones more spiritual because he deceived folks into giving him their SS checks?

You're actually asking that seriously? You don't pay a car mechanic to make him good. You pay a good mechanic, so that he will be available to repair your car. Same with anyone. If they are good, and well worth holding onto, you pay them.

If you don't, they have to do like anyone else, and spend hours working to support their family. Hours that he is not available for your congregation...... in ANY capacity.

sure im asking seriously ...what part of Jesus and Paul preaching the gospel free of charge have you missed? What part of these crooked and greedy preachers that have no spiritual truth or insight have you failed to notice.

I would say VERY FEW actually are walking in the intention of why God wants us to support those who labor in the word..and its true what Yet has said that for the most part its just about building a man an his ego...not about the true work of the church.

So what? someone falls asleep and you think that reflects that Paul was boring? That is false biblical logic to me...as if preaching the truth is supposed to be entertainment and a real man of God is supposed to give a song and dance...think about what your saying Willie...its completely unbiblical and carnal.
