Call me the naive one (or a sinful and willingly 'dead in ignorance' type), but last I went to church was at sixteen. This was around the prime time of questioning as to what I believed and followed and thought that the solution was to head to church after insisting myself weeks prior to it that I'd go. Attended Sunday night mass and left. It wasn't the same anymore. It used to be something that helped me to get through the week even if I didn't know everything about it. The people who attended weren't so bothersome, but there wasn't a connection either.

In a way, I'm glad I was raised in the Catholic church I went to for religion classes and whatnot. It wasn't the best and there were definitely flaws now looking back. But with the way many shun you just because you don't do something they say is what drives one out so quickly. I remember a nun told us that if we didn't attend to every Sunday mass, we would be questioned and ultimately sent to hell. -shrugs-

I've looked into other sections somewhat. Some seem a bit crazier than others, but I'll admit that I'm probably going by stereotype more than anything else.
I have went to many different churches of different belief systems.
Whether it be Baptist, Catholic, Full Gospel, etc. What drove me out/ made me stop attending was they 1. Criticism of our churches. 2. Worried about things that have nothing as far as I'm concerned has anything to do with worshiping our Lord. ( what does it matter what people are wearing?) If you can talk to God naked in the shower. Why does a dress or a suit matter?
Sorry venting.

What exactly is a Full Gospel church? Shouldn't all churches teach the full gospel?

I will be praying for you. I remember having a doctor who said chocolate helped with asthma, apparently there is something in chocolate that helps....it seems to work for me, and any excuse to eat chocolate. :p
I guess, I better start loving chocolate then, huh?

Achildofgod, I am sorry that you have breathing difficulties while you have to do farm work. I lived on my folks dairy farm until I was 28, but dad quit the dairy business when I was 15. I liked the animals and the work was kind of fun then. I sort of wish I was still doing it, but we were tied to the cows seven days a week all year. They need milking twice a day every day, so we had to get our farm neighbors to do the milking for us to get a vacation. I don't remember dad helping the neighbors very often, but they had grown children by the time I can remember anything. Sorry for rambling. Hope God sees fit to cure your medical problem. May God's grace be with you.

Found out why the mouse wasn't scrolling correctly. I had too many "Add-ons" running, and simply had to disable some.

Pain, pain go away.
Trouble me, no other day.
If you don't obey me, it's true
That I will beat you black and blue.

Pain there, pain here.
I wish I had an ice-cold beer.
My wine cooler will have to do
So my CC friends wont say
"Here comes that drunken Blue."

:p

You're fortunate. For more than three years, I have not had one drop of alcohol.... and that is now a lifelong thing.

I have cows on the brain, now. That is not to be confused with Mad Cow Disease. Oh, no, bovine spongiform encephalitis is something altogether different than what occupies my grey matter at the moment. I am thinking of all the seemingly leisurely drives we used to take through the countryside of southern Ontario when I was young, the acutely interminable hours in the vehicle when playing some kind of game to distract from the boredom of a long drive was de rigueur. Fun in those moments was quickly counting cows in the fields as we drove by to see how many you could accumulate before seeing a Volkswagen Beetle on the road, which the rules stipulated you then had to start the count back at zero.

I do not see many cows any more. I spend too much time in the city.

Here is a song by the Cowsills; nostalgia reigns supreme today.

I really like that they have reinserted the original lyrics (@ 2:35):

They'll be ga-ga at the go-go, when they see me in my toga
In my toga made of long, beautiful, blond biblical hair
My hair like Jesus wore it, Hallelujah I adore it
Hallelujah Mary loved her son, why don't my mother love me?
