Hi everyone! I am posting this because i think it is drastically important that Christians focus on what is important and that we learn and discuss what the Bible says. This is for everyone, if you have questions or want to start a bible reading plan or just want to discuss something message me and i'll give you my email and we can :) Thank you and God Bless.

you'll have to forgive us.
we've recently been studying together what the Bible says about sarcasm.
;)

& you are right, it isn't much help to be rude!

but this whole section of the forum is for bible study, where we can speak publicly and openly, so everyone who reads can contribute. feel free to talk about anything you like here, either in this thread or start or reply to another.

dcon's right -- you'll do well not to be easily offended around here! for the most part all of us mean well - but we're all not that great at communicating it - and #1 we all want to discuss and learn about the things of God together.

I'm sorry that you were greeted in such a manner. You'll find many people here who are willing to discuss the Bible amicably with you, but you'd better keep your armor on around here. Just sayin'. Welcome aboard, by the way.

But with this is for people who want to talk one on one about a bible topic, i feel if i post something there will be tons of different answers and many of them wrong. Just looking out for others :) And its not just for a discussion, its for a bible reading plan we can do together or a bible study.

I proposed a Bible Study board. Apparently no one thinks it can be doable except for me.

My little friend. If you consider a harmless little post about watching the grass grow to be a problem for you, let me advise you to put on a thick overcoat. I have never told anyone that they weren't a Christian, or something equally shocking, but it won't be long till those that do will find you, and really show you what can be in store for you on this forum.

No, it shouldn't be this way, but it is. So, smile, and watch the weather warnings. You could be in for some sailing lessons you never dreamed imaginable.

I'd hardly call your comments harmless. If you honestly believe that watching the grass grow is more productive than engaging in a Bible discussion, then what are you doing here? Go and purchase a lawn chair if you don't own one already and away with you. Your sarcastic comments which permeate this forum are hardly becoming of one who professes to know Christ and somebody needs to remind you of the same from time to time that you might actually change your ways.

Id like to be part because I've read the bible but haven't studied it so I have some questions that someone could explain literally not with scripture quotes.

Like why Christians have to endure persecution? As someone that does it seems like nothing but a game compared to more pressing matters like all the starving now.

God doesn't have time to save all those people but he has time to make sure that we suffer apparently ESPECIALLY if we don't deserve it , why is that? Thanks for your time.

Wait?

This section is for Bible Study? Then why is it I've only seen one Bible Study in it since I joined this site? Mostly it seems where people have this biblical (or unbiblical) concept and then everyone chews on it until they're done and spit it out. And, despite my skills at sarcasm, I'm not even going for poorly done humor here. I'm really asking.

So, like you really really want to study a book in the Bible?

I really (really lol) would like to see more Bible book studying on this site too. There is one going on now, but it's above my abilities to understand. (Check out the thread on Hebrews Study.)

I'd like one that goes a bit slower and for less educated people. (I'm not completely stupid, but I really don't get parts of speech, especially parts of speech that aren't found in English, and I don't get ancient Hebrew or Greek. I don't get it, and I know I never will at my age and mental capacity.) Something where those interested can join in, but those who join can't simply disrupt under any little whim they have. The topic is that book in the Bible. And specifically the verses being studied. So, I know what I'd like to see.

And it seems like you'd like to see something too. So, obvious question -- what do you want? You brought up a general idea here. Now I'm asking you specifically what you really want?

People, at least wise people, generally reserve 1 on 1 discussions for people they know and feel comfortable with.

Build some relationships online and you might find someone to 1 on 1 with you; but you have no basis to expect that from strangers.

Actually, as of late, I've been wondering what I'm doing on this site too. I live in Philly. On every other street corner is a group of same-aged people talking day after day after day. They're friends, and that's their corner. They discuss stuff like sarcasm, the fate of the US, who's out to get whom and why, whose shagging whom, conspiracy theories, where's the best place to buy..., etc. (Check out some of the discussions on the first two pages. Look familiar?) I could learn as much from any one of those discussions as I can on here.

So, why am I still here? I keep hoping we'll get back to God and the Bible instead of fruit inspection. Willie's been around here since before me. He changes his tune. You're tune has the underlying melody of trying to force everyone's fruit to be like yours. I'm still hoping we'll get back to God and the Bible. My hope is dwindling.

At least watching grass grow is different than fruit inspect. Alas, I live in Philly. Even our grassy parks don't have grass. They have weeds that look like grass as long as they're mowed often enough. lol
