I'd hardly call your comments harmless. If you honestly believe that watching the grass grow is more productive than engaging in a Bible discussion, then what are you doing here? Go and purchase a lawn chair if you don't own one already and away with you. Your sarcastic comments which permeate this forum are hardly becoming of one who professes to know Christ and somebody needs to remind you of the same from time to time that you might actually change your ways.

Well Said! Preach it brother!

I tried to rep you but it told me to spread it around maybe someone will do it for me.

the old saying that 'you get as good as you give', we have come to find out that in many cases, this is simply not so.

I've been taught the hard way that my expectations should only be towards the Lord and all else is
gravy...

it's very trying and not fun at all to realize that most people are just that, people, with lives that are all
about themselves, without a hint of the unselfish Love that our Father showed us when he nailed Himself to the cross.

mostly it's a lonely and isolated journey, as far as true fellowship goes - hence we must treasure the precious times
that come our way with all thankfulness and joy...for they are God-given times and always come with blessings.

You're tune has the underlying melody of trying to force everyone's fruit to be like yours.
Actually, my tune has been the underlying melody of trying to persuade, not force, everyone's, including my own, fruit to be like Christ's. It's a pity that you haven't yet recognized the same, but I suspect that your own underlying dislike for me clouds your vision.

So, like you really really want to study a book in the Bible?

I really (really lol) would like to see more Bible book studying on this site too. There is one going on now, but it's above my abilities to understand. (Check out the thread on Hebrews Study.)

I'd like one that goes a bit slower and for less educated people. (I'm not completely stupid, but I really don't get parts of speech, especially parts of speech that aren't found in English, and I don't get ancient Hebrew or Greek. I don't get it, and I know I never will at my age and mental capacity.) Something where those interested can join in, but those who join can't simply disrupt under any little whim they have. The topic is that book in the Bible. And specifically the verses being studied. So, I know what I'd like to see.

And it seems like you'd like to see something too. So, obvious question -- what do you want? You brought up a general idea here. Now I'm asking you specifically what you really want?
It might be beneficial if you would post this on the Hebrews thread itself so that all involved there might reexamine their respective contributions to that thread. I hope that it's nobody's desire to speak over anybody's head or in a manner in which cannot easily be understood by all.

If you would like to have a Bible discussion then you should post it and allow for discussion. In every discussion here there are right and wrong comments. The main point is for us to grow together as the body of Christ. Through a discussion with others you may find different angles to something you didn't notice before. You could actually even find that you were wrong on a certain subject. Discussion and study is how we learn and have more than one point of view could strengthen your faith in Christ. So I would suggest posting a topic in the forum you would like to study and allow anyone who wants to contribute to the discussion.

Amen.

That sounds like sound advice to me.

I've already talked to Old Hermit about this. He knows why I dropped out. He knows I think what he's doing is amazing. I really do appreciate he's doing this. I really don't want to lower the grade level simply because I can't keep up. I don't believe in teaching to the lowest common denominator, but I do know people learn at different levels. I'm hoping to get others involved so any level can understand.

That's what this board does already though. Why do it on a small thread on the board? Kind of repetitive, and, by the time it happens, what page will this be for anyone to notice it happened? lol

OK so what subject would you like to discuss? I can start a forum and we can go from there. I don't know everything but I love to study so the ball is in your court.

I don't mind you ranting, but please accurately address what I said. I said it would be more productive to watch grass grow than to engage in yet another of the dozens... yea, "scores" of identical threads that went nowhere, and now join all the others of like ilk that lie in the archives of this forum.

I don't know that it's necessarily an issue of lowering the grade level, but probably more an issue of not enough people sharing their respective views. If you recall, I was originally opposed to the whole teacher/student format because I felt that it would be best if everybody offered their insights on what we were reading and then we might all be able to glean something from each other. I still think that it could work. I'm having trouble with the study more because my life's been very hectic of late and I simply haven't had too much time to focus on the study. There's still time for you jump back in and ask as many questions as you'd like to and even to offer your own insights. The main thing, I believe, is keeping things civil and, amazingly, things have been quite civil there even though we're discussing some controversial topics. Perhaps it will be the catalyst for more studies in the future and perhaps we can best figure out how to make such studies more relative to all of the participants. Practice makes perfect or so they say.

Where did you say all of that? In actuality, you only said this:

Willie-T said:
Nah, I think I'll go outside and watch the grass grow. (More productive.)
If what you're saying now is what you actually had in mind, then I apologize. I can certainly see how beating one of the many already dead horses here wouldn't be productive. By the way, I'd hardly categorize my comments as a rant.

Did my post address those comments and requests made in the five other posts prior to it? Yes. That is why it is expressed as a reply that I would rather do something else that would prove to be more productive.
