It's the Sh'ma didn't your Rabbi teach you to transliterate a shiva with an apostrophe? Unless you learned Hebrew with an Ashkenazi accent I know they pronounce some things differently than an Israeli accent so I am sure the spelling would differ, Just curious!

I'm aware of a lot of different ways to say it, I just say it as "Shema". I can't help it. I'm Scottish, we talk weird :p

Oh no I didn't mean that was wrong, I know that is correct also. So do you have an ashkenazi accent, Israeli, sephardi? I know some Israeli's who speak Biblical Hebrew and modern Hebrew in everyday speech so I just wasn't sure which Hebrew you speak?

Well, I'm not a blood Jew, but if I'm not mistaken, Ashkenazi is European Jews, correct?

Yes most European Jews do speak Hebrew with an ashkenazi accent and are ashkenazi. But it really depends on your rabbi or Hebrew teacher rather than your race because he will be the one teaching you how to pronounce words. A lot of American Jews learn Israeli Hebrew from what I've been learning about Hebrew speakers. But I am sure it differs by who is teaching your Hebrew.

Oh, then yes, my Rabbi is an Ashkenazic Jew. He's from Germany.

But that does explain a lot of things, as to why you don't believe in the divine Messiah. But that's fine I'm sure you have prayed about it before and will continue to ask God to show you the truth about Him - as we all should.

Do you study the Talmud with your rabbi?

That's actually another reason I'm here :) I think we can all learn from each other regardless of our beliefs.

No, we're tackling Torah first before hitting Talmud. Both of us decided to wait to hit the Talmud until I've officially converted.

as for me am i'll soon be 18.for a Christian who has decided to make GOD's word the standard for his life marijuana should go out of the picture.the bible says in ii cor 10 vs 23"all things are lawful 'but all things are not expedient:all things are lawful for me but not all things edify"(kjv)

followed the link... the marijuana anthem. Its fine in their perspective I guess they figure it does no harm but I wonder about the teens listening to the song about validation of illegal substance. Go ahead smoke one down but while you are it DUUUUDE open your eyes. (his eyes drooped the whole song) Perhaps he truly should open his eyes and see what marijuana is doing to him. Just my opinion... not that i wanna buck the agreeing with Lilrush trend I seem to be in. :0)
