After the awesome classic rock of the 70’s began screeching towards the end of the era with a trainwreck of atrocious disco, the 80’s music seemed to be a desperate attempt to escape any affiliation to the likes of KC & the Sunshine Band, Peaches & Herbs, The Bee Gees, and *gasp!* CHER. To me, the 80’s was almost unidentifiable, just all over the place and erratic. The 90’s music tended to be more about dealing with life and finding your place in the world, rather than with just romance and having fun.
I’m not downing the 80’s. I liked a lot of it at the time: INXS, Prince, Janet Jackson, Tears For Fears, The Eurythmics, Bruce Hornsby, Phil Collins. But once the 90’s music came along, the previous music era just faded away for me.

everything is better live
I "discovered" band called Neurosis at a festival and thought they were amazing, but when I listened to the music online later I was disappointed
