I find it amazing that mwc68 and fordman are so deceived by the Roman Catholic Church. To them the Roman Catholic Church is the Truth. To them the Roman Catholic Church is their God.

No wonder God removed His True Children out of the Roman Catholic Church 500 years ago!

So telling you what the Pope Francis teaches is lying about the Pope?

Tell me mwc68, who really is your God? All i see from you is Mary this and Pope Francis that. I have yet to hear anything from you about how God is you one and only God.

I totally understand how difficult it is to break out of a Cult, especially a Cult that encourages you to Worship Mary as your God. But you really need to focus on God only and reject Mary and reject the Catholic Church and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and follow Him only!

Very few people ever leave a Cult. Once in a Cult they are doomed for life in that Cult. But you must try your best to leave the Catholic Church and embrace Jesus Christ as your God.
You said Pope Francis says Muslims are our brothers in Christ! You lie! He never said such a thing and you are a liar! Plain and simple. You lie!

Priests and nuns don't have time for a family. God is their focus and if you hold that view there is something wrong with that, well then we have to agree to disagree

The ONLY thing God did through Mary, was give us Jesus.

Wow! Would you tell one of your friends that the only thing their mother was good for was for giving birth to them? if you did, I don't think they would be your friend for much longer. But for you, its okay to disrespect Jesus and talk about His Mother in this manner? Good luck in explaining that to Him when your time comes. Besides, she must have done something special to have "all" generations to call he Blessed. (Lk.1:48) Do you include yourself as part of all generations? And do you beleive Scripture to be true, and follow what Scripture says to do in this passage?

Umm, no she is not. Mary does NOT pray for us. She does NOT intercede for us. Not to be disrespectful, but Mary is a pile of bones and ashes now in a grave somewhere. Her soul may be alive in heaven, but she DOES not hear, answer or intercede our prayers.
Umm.... no disrespect, but how do you know this? did an angel of God appear to you and devolve this information? If this is nothing more than your personal belief, I would have no choice than to dismiss it as such. That is unless you can prove to me that your personal opinions and interpretation of Scripture are infallible and without error.

THE ONE AND ONLY intercedent is JESUS. It is JESUS whom you should be praying to and asking intercedence from, not Mary. As long as you trust in MARY to answer your prayers, you will find yourself gravely mistaken and don't be surprised to not get an answer from her.
I'll ask you the same thing I asked of kenAllan:

"Do you talk regularly with your pastor and ask him/her to pray for you? If so, I'm pretty sure your pastor doesn't turn you away by saying, "Don't talk to me! Don't ask me to pray for you! Go straight to Jesus!" No, I'm pretty sure your pastor has compassion and "intercedes" (stands in the gap) for him. I'm willing to bet He/she prays for the congregation and for individuals. He/she has compassion and wants to assist people in their relationship with Christ. Or how about a family member or close friend? ever ask one of them to pray for you? Or maybe they asked you to pray for them. Do you tell them "No! don't talk to me! Don't ask me to pray for you! Go straight to Jesus! THE ONE AND ONLY intercedent is JESUS. It is JESUS whom you should be praying to and asking intercedence from, not ME." I would hope not.

So....... can't you see how baseless your arugement is? Asking others, either in heaven or here in earth to pray for us in no way diminishes Jesus' role as the Lord and Saviour.

The fact that Catholic priests and nuns do not marry is because the Vatican wants it that way. If you look into their history you will find that Popes had wives in the beginning. The rule of celibacy came later. In fact, some even got divorced. Some were involved in orgies.
[h=2]Popes sexually active before receiving Holy Orders[/h]
[SUP]
This is just a small list on this article. The reason they started the celibacy order was because of money.
And, because the priest live on campus. The only church were there is almost as many priest living off the bounty as there is members who follow. How can you be married if you live on campus when the church is paying for your room and board?
It is not because they can get closer to God if they do not marry. This is not correct. In the scriptures, Jesus healed Peter's mother in law.
It is impossible for a man not to marry and not have sexual impulses and urges. That's why they get busted all the time for having sex. the Catholic church thinks that they are above God. In the scriptures it says that a bishop should have one wife. And, if you want to be sexless you should castrate yourself. And, that's in the bible. How can you make a rule that goes against nature.
Catholic church is total brainwash. How can they justify graven images and statues that they kneel down to and pray. I saw a Catholic priest kissing a statue once. I saw a Catholic priest smoking a cigarette outside of the church. And, many are winos. They have access to wine 24/7, and they drink all the time. I walked backstage into a room to talk to the priest before a wedding and it reeked of alcohol. Who do they think they are fooling that they are all that and a bag of chips.
The Catholic church is a cult, might even be the whore church mentioned in the bible. They break all the rules. Praying to the virgin Mary is just plain ignoramous. They would rather have a relationship with Mary than to talk directly to God. And, if you look into their explanations they have elaborate answers that you'd have to be a scholar to understand, not for the average man. Its the blind leading the blind.
I guess if you can not get close to God unless you are not married, then most of us must be not as close to God as we thought we were. If it isn't in the bible it is man made. Period.[/SUP]

"from henceforth, all generations shall call me Blessed." ---Luke 1:48.

You are talking as if Mary is still alive, as a walking talking breathing entity. Sorry but she's been dead for MANY MANY millenia.. :/ A pastor is a living person, NOT a dead corpse's soul. Keep believing what you want. Someday you're gonna find out differently.

Of course it doesn't diminish His role as Lord and Savior. BUT the ONLY person(s) whom we are to pray to in heaven is GOD and JESUS. You praying to Mary idolizes her and idolatry is a sin. Mary was a sinful human who died a sinful human's death.

Luke 1:48 refers to JESUS being called "blessed." It is NOT referring to Mary.

What church is the one who forbids to marry, or should say in the past has forbid their priests and nuns to marry ???
You really should do some research before making such a doltish statement.

Your first and most basic confusion is thinking of priestly celibacy as a dogma or doctrine—a central and irreformable part of the faith, believed by Catholics to come from Jesus and the apostles. In fact, the Catholic Church forbids no one to marry. No one is required to take a vow of celibacy; those who do, do so voluntarily. They "renounce marriage" (Matt. 19:12); no one forbids it to them. Any Catholic who doesn’t wish to take such a vow doesn’t have to, and is almost always free to marry with the Church’s blessing. The Church simply elects candidates for the priesthood (or, in the Eastern rites, for the episcopacy) from among those who voluntarily renounce marriage.

If you'd had done some research before posting such nonsence, you'd have learned that there are married Latin-Rite priests who are converts from Lutheranism and Episcopalianism. Bet you didn't know that! And guess what? the majority of these priests that converted have children! So do you think the Catholic Church told these converts... "well... before you can become a priest you have to denounce you wife and children" Not at all.... they were welcomed with open arms!!!! Sorry about having to blow your argument plum out of the water! Hey.... but at least now you know, and won't have to make the same silly mistake. :)

Also you never answered my question I asked before, does the Catholic church still hold the position that divorce is never allowed ???

Some lines from the Catechism of the Catholic Church

1640: Thus the marriage bond has been established by God himself in such a way that a marriage concluded and consummated between baptized persons can never be dissolved. This bond, which results from the free human act of the spouses and their consummation of the marriage, is a reality, henceforth irrevocable, and gives rise to a covenant guaranteed by God's fidelity. the Church does not have the power to contravene this disposition of divine wisdom.144

------------

Divorce:
2382: The Lord Jesus insisted on the original intention of the Creator who willed that marriage be indissoluble.173 He abrogates the accommodations that had slipped into the old Law.174
Between the baptized, "a ratified and consummated marriage cannot be dissolved by any human power or for any reason other than death."175

2383: The separation of spouses while maintaining the marriage bond can be legitimate in certain cases provided for by canon law.176
If civil divorce remains the only possible way of ensuring certain legal rights, the care of the children, or the protection of inheritance, it can be tolerated and does not constitute a moral offense.

2384: Divorce is a grave offense against the natural law. It claims to break the contract, to which the spouses freely consented, to live with each other till death. Divorce does injury to the covenant of salvation, of which sacramental marriage is the sign. Contracting a new union, even if it is recognized by civil law, adds to the gravity of the rupture: the remarried spouse is then in a situation of public and permanent adultery:

If a husband, separated from his wife, approaches another woman, he is an adulterer because he makes that woman commit adultery, and the woman who lives with him is an adulteress, because she has drawn another's husband to herself.177

2385: Divorce is immoral also because it introduces disorder into the family and into society. This disorder brings grave harm to the deserted spouse, to children traumatized by the separation of their parents and often torn between them, and because of its contagious effect which makes it truly a plague on society.

2386: It can happen that one of the spouses is the innocent victim of a divorce decreed by civil law; this spouse therefore has not contravened the moral law. There is a considerable difference between a spouse who has sincerely tried to be faithful to the sacrament of marriage and is unjustly abandoned, and one who through his own grave fault destroys a canonically valid marriage.17

I find it interesting that the Catholics are defending their right to Worship Mary!

Do you even understand fordman that God in His Scriptures calls a lot of other people Blessed?

Matthew 5:3-12 (NKJV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] "Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

You do know fordman God HAS Blessed us True Christians greater than Mary!

Luke 11:27-28
[SUP]27 [/SUP] And it came about while He said these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice, and said to Him, " Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts at which You nursed."
[SUP]28 [/SUP] But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and observe it."

I am Blessed more AND Greater than Mary fordman!!!!

So pick up your toys and leave us True Christians alone. We really do not need your crap from the corrupted Catholic Church! We do not need you to shove your God Mary down our throats! We do not need to listen to how great your Pope Francis is because your Pope Francis believes Muslims are our brothers in Christ!

There is nothing good anymore in the Catholic Church today. Its nothing more than a Cult today. So go away and spew your hatred of God some where else. God has told us not to cast our Pearls before Swine. You fordmand and mwc68 are nothing more than swine Worshiping and following Mary as your God.

What else could you do but laugh, (out of frustation that is) because you can't or won't ascertain historically documented truth. Now Budman, (is that your username for the partaking of the "king of beers?") if "you' don't beleive it was the Catholic Church that compiled the bible, maybe you can enlighten all of us with historic documentation on who did! Your own Martin Luther seemed to know who did, when he wrote in his Commentary on St. John: "We are compelled to concede to the Papists (Catholics) that they have the Word of God, that we received it from them, and that without them we should have no knowledge of it at all." So are you calling the father of your own reformation a liar?

Yep. Luther was certainly wrong on that account. And he's been wrong before. Especially regarding the terrible things he wrote about the Jews.

But, then again, your "church" hasn't exactly been "friendly" to the Jews either. (The whole 'burning them at the stake' thing).

Your church teaches it canonized the Bible in 390 AD at the council of Hippo.

In 240 AD Origen names all the books of the Old and New Testaments.
In 270 AD Eusebius listed all the New Testament books.
In 326 AD Athanasius of Alexandria lists all the New Testament books.
In 370 AD Cyril of Jerusalem lists all the New Testament books except Revelation.

Also, the Apostles themselves immediately put their writings into circulation (See Colossians 4:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:27, 1 Corinthians 1:2).

The Apostles written Epistles were being read in the churches long before the RCC "compiled" them to "give" to us.

Peter was already calling Paul's Epistles Scripture while they were both alive.

The Ethiopian eunuch was reading the Scriptures when Phillip came up to his chariot.

People have always had and read the Scriptures in areas not controlled by the RCC.

The Catholic Churches claim that they "gave" the Bible to the world cannot be true because they have not been the sole possessor of the Bible at any time.

Ha-ha.... now thats funny!!! You mean kinda like when I've been askin you to show me where it says in Scripture that the bible alone is sufficient as a sole rule of faith. Just one passage.... thats all I'm askin!!! But nooooooooo...... you and the rest of your minions have been avoiding that like the plague! So don't you be playing the "your avoiding the question" card with me! sheesh..... {rolling eyes}
That's any easy one:

"All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. So that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16)

To sum up:

The Bible is given to us for:

1. Doctrine.

2. Reproof.

3. Correction

4. Instruction in Righteousness

5. And to be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

And 1 Corinthians 4:6 warns us not to go beyond what is written.

So, um...what exactly do we need your "church" or anything else for?

The bottom line is the Pope was making a gesture of respect to Islam
And yet again, why would any true Christian show "respect" to a religion that is leading billions of people to hell, Ford. You never answered that.

It's the same as showing respect to Satanism, or Buddhism, Hinduism, Mormonism, or any other religion that is damning souls!

Would you kiss the Satanic Bible, Ford? How about the Book of Mormon? Would you kiss the Koran?

Will Muslims make it to heaven, Ford? How about Buddhists, Hindus, Satanists, Mormons, etc.?

Baloney. When you ask the "saints" to intercede for you, you are praying to them.

The Bible tells us to pray to no one but God. Our only mediator is Christ. (1 Timothy 2:5)
