Take Mary for instance. You goofballs keep sayin we worship Mary and you are wrong! Yet you continue to say it. Show me where we are cpmmanded to worship Mary? You people are so backwards on this I'm starting to suspect racism

Whomever you pray to, that is who you worship.

Yep. Luther was certainly wrong on that account. And he's been wrong before. Especially regarding the terrible things he wrote about the Jews.

But, then again, your "church" hasn't exactly been "friendly" to the Jews either. (The whole 'burning them at the stake' thing).

Your church teaches it canonized the Bible in 390 AD at the council of Hippo.

In 240 AD Origen names all the books of the Old and New Testaments.
In 270 AD Eusebius listed all the New Testament books.
In 326 AD Athanasius of Alexandria lists all the New Testament books.
In 370 AD Cyril of Jerusalem lists all the New Testament books except Revelation.

Also, the Apostles themselves immediately put their writings into circulation (See Colossians 4:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:27, 1 Corinthians 1:2).

The Apostles written Epistles were being read in the churches long before the RCC "compiled" them to "give" to us.

Peter was already calling Paul's Epistles Scripture while they were both alive.

The Ethiopian eunuch was reading the Scriptures when Phillip came up to his chariot.

People have always had and read the Scriptures in areas not controlled by the RCC.

The Catholic Churches claim that they "gave" the Bible to the world cannot be true because they have not been the sole possessor of the Bible at any time.

That's any easy one:

"All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. So that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16)

To sum up:

The Bible is given to us for:

1. Doctrine.

2. Reproof.

3. Correction

4. Instruction in Righteousness

5. And to be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

And 1 Corinthians 4:6 warns us not to go beyond what is written.

So, um...what exactly do we need your "church" or anything else for?

And yet again, why would any true Christian show "respect" to a religion that is leading billions of people to hell, Ford. You never answered that.

It's the same as showing respect to Satanism, or Buddhism, Hinduism, Mormonism, or any other religion that is damning souls!

Would you kiss the Satanic Bible, Ford? How about the Book of Mormon? Would you kiss the Koran?

Will Muslims make it to heaven, Ford? How about Buddhists, Hindus, Satanists, Mormons, etc.?

"Ha-ha.... now thats funny!!! You mean kinda like when I've been askin you to show me where it says in Scripture that the bible alone is sufficient as a sole rule of faith. Just one passage.... thats all I'm askin!!! But nooooooooo...... you and the rest of your minions have been avoiding that like the plague! So don't you be playing the "your avoiding the question" card with me! sheesh..... {rolling eyes}"

Are you ready? Here it is! But do you SEE it?

Romans 10:17
Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God

Ephesians 1:13
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,

2 Timothy 2:15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

You are talking as if Mary is still alive, as a walking talking breathing entity. Sorry but she's been dead for MANY MANY millenia.. :/ A pastor is a living person, NOT a dead corpse's soul. Keep believing what you want. Someday you're gonna find out differently.
Jesus said that he is the true vine, and we are the branches. When a Christian (one branch) dies physically and is taken up into heaven, he isnt broken off the vine. He remains in Christ (Rom 8:38-39). The deceased Christian is still united with the vine(Jesus) and with the other branches (all other Christians, living or dead). This communion of saints makes possible the sharing spiritual things with other Christians including intercessory prayer.

You keep on believing what you want, but remember this. No one prays to dead saints, because those in heaven are more alive than we are. The Lord is God of the living, not of the dead. The fervent prayer of a righteous man is very powerful (Jas 5:16). Those in heaven are surely righteous, since nothing unclean can enter heaven (Rv 21:27). Those in heaven are part of the Mystical Body of Christ and have not been separated from us by death, but surround us as a great cloud of witnesses (Heb.12:1)

They stand before the throne of God and offer our prayers to him (Rev. 5:8) and cheer us on as we run the good race. Intercession among members of the body of Christ is pleasing to God (1 Tm 2:1-4) and even commanded by him (Jn 15:17). Those in heaven have a perfected love, so how could they not intercede for us? Once again, Christ is the vine, and we are the branches; if we are connected to him, we are inseparably bound together as well. Can the eye say to the hand, "I need you not"? Neither are we to say we dont need the prayers of our brothers and sisters (alive here or in heaven), because salvation is a family affair.

Of course it doesn't diminish His role as Lord and Savior. BUT the ONLY person(s) whom we are to pray to in heaven is GOD and JESUS. You praying to Mary idolizes her and idolatry is a sin. Mary was a sinful human who died a sinful human's death.
Again, Is this your personal opinion? If this is nothing more than your personal belief, I would have no choice than to dismiss it as such. That is unless you can prove to me that your personal opinions and interpretation of Scripture are infallible and without error. Sorry.

Luke 1:48 refers to JESUS being called "blessed." It is NOT referring to Mary.

Ummm....
Someday you're gonna find out differently. Until then, you should look closely at Lk.1:46-56: (Mary's Song)

46 And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; 49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. 50 And his mercy is on those who fear him from generation to generation. 51 He has shown strength with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts, 52 he has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted those of low degree; 53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away. 54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, 55 as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity for ever." 56 And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her home.

In these passages, we see God's boundless love manifested in the promise of a Redeemer. As the events leading to the birth of our Saviour unfold we see all the prophecies, promises and prayers of the Old Testament being fulfilled because "God so loved the world that he gave us his only Son". Mary accepted her mission with uncompromising faith and obedience. She acted with unwavering trust and faith because she believed that God would fulfill the word he had spoken. Her great hymn of praise echoes the song of Hannah (see 1 Samuel 2:1-10) and proclaims the favor of the Lord: God exalts the lowly and he fills the hungry.

Nope. He didnt lie! You'll see here that your pope referred to the catholics, muslims and jewish to having the same father. What he said is true! Jewish are atheist and muslims and catholics worship another god. You cannot refute video evidence.

Pope Francis to Jewish, Muslim and Catholic group: We have the same Father

Awesome evidence that the Pope, and his church, are completely apostate, and blasphemous.

Sorry..... but anyone that can read, clearly can see that these Passages "DO NOT" show where Scripture says that the bible alone is sufficient as a sole rule of faith! But by all means.... keep trying.

The Catholic church is the Obamacare of the Roman empire days. It was used to manipulate everyone in the vicinity and beyond. They used the church to gain power that they were losing. Once established they picked the clergy. The church was corrupt from day one. And, it is corrupt today. With millions following that have no clue as to what they believe in. they gained a lot of popularity today if at all because of the magnificant structures that they own.g but, they are only stone ,brick and stained glass. They sure put on a Hell of a show, with their incense and Latin mumbo jumbo.
Would any church in the United states accept government endorsement and use that power to take away free choice. People were terrorized in to joining the church, they had no choice. gaining memberships through ignorance which goes on today. Following man made rules and superstitions imposed on them. What a great church. that's why people have a phobia about leaving , they are still afraid that they will get condemned; it is infused into their DNA by their ancestors. Look it up.
God said you will know my people.
I talk to my Catholic relatives and not one know the gospel. But , they sure know the Hail Mary's. If you go to a wedding and funeral you are subject to listening to repetitious prayers.
Like if God wants us to do this. And you will do a lot of stand up and sit down. UGH.

At 62 years old, I would expect (and Jesus also) that you would have looked for Jesus by now; you haven't. Furthermore, you are posting lies here because the god you believe in is telling you that lying is ok in order to get people to believe what you say. The true brethren of Jesus know well the devil is the father of liars, and therefore it is only the devil who is speaking to you now.

You let me know when you're ready to look for and accept Jesus that was born of the Virgin 2000 years ago.

I certainly will, here in the next 15 minutes. :) And I will at this holy mass share the precious body and blood of our Lord and Savior and God Jesus Christ with you, Mec, and everyone here at CC forums. You will be truly blessed.

I hope this does not offend you. For as our Lord said... (see my sig below)

blondie - you are quoting Scriptures that were written by Catholics to Catholics. Dear, unlike you, I took the time to learn Christian history; I took the time to learn Christian beliefs and practices of the first centuries. If you do the same, you'll learn there were (5) Popes by the end of the first century; you'll learn the apostles participating in electing Pope Linus, who succeeded Pope Peter. Christians were called Catholics before the end of the first century.

Now, you have to decide if you want Jesus in your life or do you want the jesus-god that was created by the man-made religions. Common sense dictates the Church Jesus started 2000 years ago is the only true Church, and all those which were started by man after Jesus are false and creations of the devil

You are mistaken in your line of thinking - the Jews are called God's first born, therefore they have the same Father as Christians. The muslims claim to follow the God of Abraham; of course we know they are deceived, but the God of Abraham is Our God. The muslims CLAIM Our God as their Father, however Our God has not claimed them as Children.

I find it amazing that mwc68 and fordman are so deceived by the Roman Catholic Church. To them the Roman Catholic Church is the Truth. To them the Roman Catholic Church is their God.

No wonder God removed His True Children out of the Roman Catholic Church 500 years ago!
Your comment is outside the realm of lucidity. Jesus started the Catholic Church 2000 years ago, it was the only TRUE Church then, it is the only TRUE Church now. the events you speak of 500 years ago were prophesied by Jesus. Jesus warns they will come in the future, this is exactly what happened.

Mt:24:11:
11 And many false prophets shall rise and shall seduce many.

Mt:24:24:
24 For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect.

Mt:24:5:
5 For many will come in my name saying, I am Christ. And they will seduce many.

Lk:21:8:
8 Who said: Take heed you be not seduced: for many will come in my name, saying: I am he and the time is at hand. Go ye not therefore after them.

Mt:7:15:
15 ¶ Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Jews are atheists until they claim Jesus as the risen Christ. They follow a god they have made up in their minds. Muslims claim to follow God but since they have much error in their religion;they follow a god they have made up in their own minds. I dont expect you to grasp this because you have made up your own god as well.
