The KJV Biblical doesn't say "day of rest" or “the day of rest.”

It was God who entrusted the Israelites to preserve His calendar and the Scriptures. The calendar that God presented to Moses became the responsibility of certain appointed Levitical priests and, centuries later, the Jews. We often refer to the calendar in honor of its source—God’s sacred calendar. God's Sacred Calendar is completely based only on the movements of the sun and the moon. We need to consider carefully the record of the fourth day of creation.

“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” compared with “Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) (Genesis 1:14 and Exodus 23:15)

time appointed an appointment, a fixed time or season; a festival; conventionally a year, the place of meeting, a signal appointed beforehand, a solemn place of assembly, feast, season and time involving synagogue appointment, an assembly convened for a definite purpose.
Appointed time

A DAY”

Precisely every 19 years, the Hebrew calendar is given a reliability test. If it were ever out of sync with the 19 year time cycle, then many would stand ready to announce this imperfection. In recent centuries, the calendar has always accurately meshed with the 19-year cycles as it must have done anciently, due to adjustments that were implemented for this very purpose. They added a month of 30 days every 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] or 4[SUP]th[/SUP] year as a “leap year” of 13 months.

As I was studying something else, I ran across this article explaining how the original God-given calendar of feasts and Sabbaths has been lost to us today and thought you might find it interesting.

Establishment of the Permanent Jewish Calendar
The next emperor, Theodosius, was again a virulent anti-pagan Christian. He not only set about to undo what Julian had done but to Christianizing the empire more than ever.

He passed a series of decrees that affected the Jewish people. One was that he forbade the meeting of the Sanhedrin. Among the consequences of that was the effective abolition of a Jewish calendar, because, as we have discussed before (see the article on The Men of the Great Assembly), it was dependent upon declaration of the dates by members of the Sanhedrin. Without knowing the dates of the Jewish holidays there is no way for Jews to survive as Jews.

When the Communists came to power in Russia in 1917 they banned the Jewish calendar even before they banned the prayer-book. They realized that without knowing the precise dates of the Jewish holy days no Jew could possibly maintain his religion. If one Jew thought Yom Kippur was Wednesday and one thought it was Thursday and another thought Friday the structure of Jewish life would collapse. Therefore, they banned the calendar first.

More than any other decree, this decree of Theodosius impelled the establishment of the permanent Jewish calendar, as we know it today. Starting in 380 CE there was serious discussion to officially adopt it. By 415 CE, it was officially adopted by the Jewish people.

The permanent Jewish calendar, based on mathematical calculations,[1] had always been known to and used by the Jew leaders. The Sanhedrin met because, within certain parameters, they had the power to adjust the calendar. For instance, the Sanhedrin had the power to lengthen a year by a month if the farmers needed it or if the date of Passover would not fall in the spring or other possible considerations. This flexibility was its genius. It allowed human beings to tweak it as needed. Nevertheless, the Sanhedrin always had mathematical calculations to guide them – and it was those calculations that were used in the permanent Jewish calendar.

The permanent calendar operates on a nineteen-year cycle. Every nineteen years there are seven leap years (years with an additional month). It is so accurate that even now, after 1500 years, the Jewish calendar is only off by a couple of minutes. Compare that to the Julian calendar, used by the Western world, which already centuries ago had to be corrected by more than 11 days.

The permanent calendar was made official by the Prince of the people of the time, a man named Hillel, who is not to be confused with the more famous Hillel who lived four centuries earlier. In fact, this Hillel would be the next to last Prince of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel. He saw that Christian persecution was ruining Jewish life, including making it impossible for the Sanhedrin to meet and set the dates of the Jewish calendar. It was he who proposed, at a clandestine meeting of the Sanhedrin, that a permanent calendar be instituted.
After successfully doing that, he was then able to get the permanent calendar instituted in all Jewish communities throughout the world no matter how remote. From then on, there were always Jews who could figure out the calendar no matter the situation.

There are stories of Jews who were shipwrecked on islands (for example, after they were expelled from Spain in 1492) or imprisoned in Nazi concentration camps who were able to use the principles of the Jewish calendar to recreate it accurately for themselves. Some of these calendars are on display in the Israel Museum. There is one Jewish family that was shipwrecked on an island for 11 years! Can you imagine? There was this Jewish family alone on a desolate island celebrating Passover and Yom Kipper, etc. at the correct times.

As would be true throughout history, this is a prime example of how the attempt of the Christian world to break the Jewish people and religion only strengthened it.

[1] The Talmud (Rosh Hashanah 25a) says that, based on calculations and a tradition going back to Sinai, Jewish months are calculated at 29.53059 days. Only first with the advent of modern technology — solar satellites, hairline telescopes, laser beams and super-computers — were NASA scientists able to determine the length of the “synodic month,” i.e. the time between one new moon and the next. And that figure is 29.530588 days. (Blessing of the Sun by Rabbi J. David Bleich, ArtScroll-Mesorah Publications, pp. 47-48.)

Galatians 4:8-10
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

Don't let anyone tell you that the "weak and beggarly elements" are the commandments of the "Living Almighty God." Using these verse to teach that they are is the false doctrine which permeates the church of today. Verse 8 clearly states, and relates the "weak and beggarly elements" are things that were practiced before they knew God, and they did "service unto them which by nature are no gods."

We are supposed to adhere to God's "days, and months, and times, and years" (verse 10) and not "days, and months, and times, and years" that have been endorsed to make God's "days, and months, and times, and years" obscure.

Get real church! Has not God's calendar been replaced by Julius Caesar during Jesus' time on earth, and Pope Gregory's to date? What on earth do you think the church in Galatia was practicing that got Paul's' attention? God's ordinances? I think not.

Using this scripture to teach us that it's God's "weak and beggarly elements" they were observing, and being put under bondage to, is pure "blasphemy" against God Almighty!

When the Bible mentions “the day of the Lord” it is not one particular day of the week.

Many of today's churches have been led astray by false teachings and doctrines. Today we don't even know which day of the week it is (according to scripture) because we live by a calendar that is man made and not God's. The Julian Calendar (named after Julius Caesar 46 B.C.) was a solar calendar, and the Gregorian Catholic Calendar (1582 was named after Pope Gregory) used in the world today was imposed on the world by the power of the Catholic Church. Both calendars disregard the moon rotation around the earth, only recognizing the earth's rotation around the sun. These calendars subtly, and deceptively turn our our unconscious attention away from God's creation. It is not known for sure when the system of fixed 7-day weeks, with no relation to the lunar cycle, came into use, but probably lie in Sumerian/Babylonian culture. With God's Biblical calendar, the “new moon” has to correlate with the seventh day.

The formula they adopted results in a Jewish calendar, which is a 19-year cycle of 235 lunar months. This is known as the Greek Metonic cycle and was a part of Babylonian Chronology dating to 626 B.C. which is very close to the time of the writings of Daniel while he was living in the confines of the Babylonian Empire.

“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” (Daniel 7:25)

Please follow the following explanations very close, because it can get a little “mind boggling” if you don't concentrate.

כִּי לְיָמִים עוֹד שִׁבְעָה "For yet seven days” (Genesis 7:4)

Sheva (pronounced Shaba with a hard “B” sound) is a mark placed under a letter that doesn't have a vowel to enable the speaker to pronounce the Word correctly. Sheva is written as “שִׁבְעָ" (in Hebrew) is the word for “seven” therefore comparing “pronunciation” or “pronouncement” to the number “seven.”

שִׁבְעָה (in Hebrew context) adds the letter “hey” (ה) meaning “reveal” to the “pronouncement” of “seven.” Therefore “seven days” is actually a revealed pronouncement that God gave to Noah.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week” (Daniel 9:27a)

Now let's see how a “week” fits into the number “seven” ( שָׁבוּעַ ) week meaning “sevened” letting the hearer know that the revealed pronouncement “is” the official announcement.

שָׁבוּעַ (in Hebrew context) adds the letter “hey” (וּ) meaning “secure” according to the “pronouncement” of “seven.” This letter is in-bedded in the “week” so as to exemplify “keeping watch” represented by the letter “עַ.”

So in reality we could read Daniel 9:27 as “And he shall confirm the covenant with a single announcement.” I'm not saying this is all the truth in this scripture but it does need to be considered as inclusive, but not exclusive.

“Holy Sabbath” (שַׁבַּת-קֹדֶשׁ ) Or “Sabbath consecrated” reading right to left.
“And he said unto them, This is that which the Lord hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the Lord:” (Exodus 16:23a)

So we see that Sabbath is not the word seven, neither is it the word week. The only two letters that are in “seven” “week” and “Sabbath” are שַׁבַּ which by themselves are not a word. שַׁבַּת "Sabbath” means an intermission or a time of rest. שָׁבַת "shabath” (notice the pronunciation) means to repose, cease and desist. “ ת" (tav) by itself represents a “sign of light.”

שַׁ represents fire, water, and precise diction enabled by the tongue and teeth
בַּ represents the place prepared for the family (Kingdom of God)

So in reality the “Sabbath day” (“day” meaning a time period set) is vaguely related to “seven” and “week” but doesn't have anything to do with a particular day in relation to Saturday or Sunday according to a Roman dictator or a Catholic Pope. For "Sabbath keepers" to argue with "non-Sabbath keepers" over which day of the week it falls on leaves us with the end result of totally excluding God's Lordship of a true Sabbath time. Both sides of the argument are ridiculous by disputing about a day according to a man made calendar.

In summary;
1. God makes a pronouncement (decree)
2. He reveals His announcement within the decree
3. It is set, unchanging, and secure
4. The decree is confirmed by His light. (Galatians 4:4)

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” (Exodus 20:8)
“Remember the “sign of light” that has been prepared by fire and water, and the sword of His mouth. Keep this consecrated, and cease from you own works. (Exodus 20:8)

“For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” (Hebrews 4:10)

“And there are three, which bear record in the earth, the Spirit, and the Water and the Blood: and these three agree in one.” (1 John 5:8) [1599 Geneva Bible] seven, week, Sabbath

Now all New Testament Gentiles can observe the 4th commandment without feeling guilty for keeping a Pope's day.

There are so many exegetical mistakes in the OP, it is hard to know where to begin.

First, letters are letters. Although in proto-Hebrew, they may have had meaning, interpreting letters as words is just WRONG.

We also already had this discussion with MarcR, who has studied Hebrew since he was a young man. He agreed that while the letters did have meanings at one time, that is not the way they are used in the Bible.

שִׁבְעָה (in Hebrew context) adds the letter “hey” (וּ) meaning “secure” according to the “pronouncement” of “seven.” This letter is in-bedded in the “week” so as to exemplify “keeping watch” represented by the letter “עַ.”
This is just WRONG! If you had studied Hebrew, instead of reading kooky nonsense, you would understand that this and the other letters you believe stand for a mysterious code, are also just WRONG!

What makes them wrong. Are you a student of Hebrew? Just asking. Each Hebrew letter is a picture that has representation unlike English. Also, there is a difference between Aramaic and Hebrew even though both languages use the same letters with some additions in the Aramaic for pronunciation purposes.

Most professing Christians have rejected the TRUE holy days of God, the annual festivals of His Word (Lev.23), and some THINK they observe them, but have been misled, and keep a false “Passover,” a false “Pentecost,” and even the wrong days for the other holy days, and reject specific commandments of God when they do so. Most reject the TRUE calendar of God, the New Moons, and the proper calculation of the Hebrew months, and therefore the holy days. Many accept a false, “fixed” (civil) Jewish calendar that replaced the true Biblical calendar in 357-58 A.D. in the time of Hillel II, by a Catholic Pope named Gregory.

And these are only SOME of the false teachings of modern day, end-time “Nicolaitan”-influenced churches which claim to be the true remnants of the Church of God and assure the people that they have the bona fide “TRUTH”!

see this thread

But Jesus declared, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth,” and “The Scripture cannot be broken” (John 17:17 and John 10:35b), Then earnestly consider, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God” (Matt.4:4; Luke 4:40). This includes the first Sabbath of a 7 day count during the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] month after Israel made their exodus from Egypt being the 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] day of Lyar.

What sources are you using friend? Do not be deceived, there is a one who "thinks" to change times and laws..doesn't mean he's done it. Messiah said not one jot or tittle..
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High,

and think to change times and laws:

and they shall be [given into his hand ] until a time and times and the dividing of time.

yes week and worldy is not Gods feasts spoken here.

LEV.19
[26] Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood:
neither shall ye use enchantment, (NOR OBSERVE TIMES).

[27] Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
[28] Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you:
I am the LORD.
[29] Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom,
and the land become full of wickedness.

[30] (YE SHALL KEEP MY SABBATHS), and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

-You shall not observe times, BUT you shall keep my sabbaths says the Lord in one chapter.

DEUT.18
[9] When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee,
thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
[10] There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his
daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination,
OR AN OBSERVER OF TIMES, or an enchanter, or a witch,
[11] Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits,
or a wizard, or a necromancer.

2 CHR.33
[3] For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father
had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves,
and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
[4] Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof
the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
[5] And he built altars for all the host of heaven in
the two courts of the house of the LORD.
[6] And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom:
ALSO HE OBSERVED TIMES, and used enchantments, and used
witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards:
he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger

Enchantments, witchcraft, familiar spirits, and wizards.
Its speaking of the occult. Not about following sabbath days.

God's Sacred Calendar is completely based only on the movements of the sun and the moon. We need to consider carefully the record of the fourth day of creation.

.
Psalms 104

He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

God used the moon phases for to tell seasons,

man uses the sun

When the Bible mentions “the day of the Lord”
it is not one particular day of the week.
yes the bible does not say anywhere the day of the lord refers to any day of week.
and man labeles sunday as the lords day, the bible says the beast has changed it.

Amos 5:18
Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you?
the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.

-John was in a vision, about a future day,

10I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day,
and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

-the day here, referes to a year, right before Christ returns

Isaiah 34:8
For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance,
and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision:
for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

5What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the Lord?

I don’t usually quote from the King James Version, but I found this on the BibleGateway Website:

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11 KJV

The seventh day was set apart and made holy and sanctified at creation...
Gen 2:2-3, Exo 20:10-11

God (Jesus Christ) revealed the seventh day to Israel for forty YEARS.
Every meal they were reminded which day the Sabbath was.

Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

"By calculating the eclipses, it can be proven that no time has been lost and the
creation days were seven, divided into 24 hours each."
—Dr. Hinkley, The Watchman, July 1926 [Hinkley was a well-known astronomer].

"The human race never lost the septenary [seven day] sequence of week days
and that the Sabbath of these latter times comes down to us from Adam, though the ages,
without a single lapse."—Dr. Totten, professor of astronomy at Yale University.

"Seven has been the ancient and honored number among the nations of the earth.
They have measured their time by weeks from the beginning.
The origin of this was the Sabbath of God, as Moses has given the reasons
for it in his writings."—Dr. Lyman Coleman.

"There has been no change in our calendar in past centuries that has affected in
any way the cycle of the week."—James Robertson, Director American Ephemeris,
Navy Department, U.S. Naval Observatory, Washington, D.C., March 12, 1932.

"It can be said with assurance that not a day has been lost since Creation, and all
the calendar changes notwithstanding, there has been no break in the weekly cycle."
—Dr. Frank Jeffries, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and Research Director
of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, England.

There is no question about which day the seventh day of the week is.,
And is recorded in the oricals of God, given to us.

The weekly cycle, the break between the shift from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar?
There was a well known break of 10 days.

In 1582, please notice that Thursday the 4th was followed by Friday the 15th.

The weekly cycle was not interrupted.

Now take a look at 1752, Wednesday the 2nd was followed by Thursday the 14th.
Again, the calendar had to be adjusted to correct it to the seasons

but the weekly cycle remained unchanged.

Creation is the PROOF of God—of His existence. It—the act of creating—identifies Him!

So God took the most enduring, lasting imperishable thing
man can know—a recurring space of time—the only day that is
a memorial of the act of creating. He took the only day which
points, constantly, every seventh day of the week, to the existence
of the almighty, all-powerful, all-ruling God —the Creator!

And God set that particular day apart from others as His
day—God made that particular day sacred and holy to Him—
designating it as the very day on which He commands His
people to assemble for worship—the day man is commanded
to rest from his own work and physical pleasure—and to be
refreshed by assembling with other obedient worshipers in
spiritual fellowship!

No other day is a memorial and reminder of creation. True,
Satan has deceived a deluded world into supposing Christ’s
resurrection occurred on Sunday morning at sunrise—the
very time which has always been the time of pagan sun-worship.

Obviously the women preparing spices were observing both an annual sabbath
and a Julian sabbath according to the commandment.
-I have never heard of this 2 calanders for feasts idea.

my understanding was on wednesday was the passover, in 31 a.d.
they prepared for the feast, the first day of U.L.B.,
[the night to be most remembered], was on thursday.
Mary rested on this [high holyday]a feast day, no work allowed.

-the bible in the new test. says to keep this special day, not easter.

1 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV)
Therefore let us (keep the feast), not with old leaven, neither with the leaven
of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

on friday, the day before weekly sabbath, a workday,
spices where prepared

then the 7th day, the Sabbath, another restday.

-she rested on thursday, and on the sabbath, by Gods calander.
the Greek word translated “Easter” (pascha) in Acts 12:4 should be translated “Passover.”

3 days 3 nights only sign given to us by God, to know the truth.

If Jesus were in the grave only from late Friday afternoon to sometime before dawn
on Sunday morning, then the only sign He gave that He was the prophesied Messiah
was not fulfilled. The claim of His messiahship rests on the fulfillment of His words.

John:19:31 preserves a crucial point that provides insight into the other narratives.
The "preparation day" on which Jesus was crucified is described as the day before the Sabbath.
But John clarifies it by stating that this approaching Sabbath "was a high day."

This does not refer to the regular weekly Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset)
but to the first day of Unleavened Bread, which is one of God's annual high days,
or holy feast days (Exodus:12:16; Leviticus:23:6-7

-the apostiles keep this feast of God

Acts 12:3 (KJV)
And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also.
(Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

Acts 20:6 (KJV)
And we sailed away from Philippi after (the days of unleavened bread),
and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.

we are told to keep the feast day, first day of unleavened bread once a year.
The true Sabbath has not been lost,or why even record future events like

But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
if we do not know the correct day of the sabbath, this verse above would be useless.
or why even record the oracles of God, if the day is unknown to us.

A group in Asia Minor known as the Quartodecimans rigorously defended the original biblical truths.
They insisted on an observance of the Christian Passover on the correct biblical date,
the 14th day of the month Nisan on the Hebrew calendar.

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High,

and think to change times and laws:

and they shall be [given into his hand ] until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Admittidly, I am confused about the point of this thread. To be clear, my post has to do with whether we can be sure that what we call "Saturday" is the very day identified as "Sabbath" in the Bible. To further clarify,( in reference to weekly Sabbath as in the 4th commandment).

Again, I'm speaking of the weekly Sabbath and no other. It is determined by counting days and not the moon phases, which to my understanding is what the OP is trying to claim. Lunar weekly Sabbaths are not Biblical.

What is "time, times and half a time" in reference to the verse you quote? Is it not referring to the beast in Danial and Revelation as well? What is that period of time? Are these additional verses helpful?

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. (Revelation 13:5—7)

But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. (Revelation 11:2)

And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. (Revelation 12:6)
+++++++++++++++++++++++
...so, to sum up Prove-all, I think my post and your post together makes for confusion. I'm saying that the weekly Sabbath that Jewish people all over the world observe is the same day Messiah observed. The weekly Sabbath has not been lost!
What say you Prove-all? Has the weekly Sabbath been lost?

...so, to sum up Prove-all, I think my post and your post together makes for confusion. I'm saying that the weekly Sabbath that Jewish people all over the world observe is the same day Messiah observed. The weekly Sabbath has not been lost!
What say you Prove-all? Has the weekly Sabbath been lost?
-yes the Sabbath has not been lost by God or the saints,

saturday on our calander is still the 7th day of the week,
and I believe it is the correct day still, no weekday change from the calander changes.

Here is the patience of the saints:
here are they that keep the commandments of God, [and] the faith of Jesus.

but man[or the beast kingdom] has [changed] Gods Sabbath,
and made sunday the lords day of worship.

the true meaning of the Sabbath is lost to the world, that mans traditions they follow.

How Time Was Changed

This same power is mentioned again in the 17th chapter of Revelation, here pictured as ruling
over the kings and kingdoms of the Earth, persecuting the true saints.

In every possible manner, this power has changed time!

God begins the days at sunset, but “the little horn” has changed it so
the world now begins the day in the middle of the night by a man-made watch.

God begins the week with the ending of the true Sabbath, the seventh day of the week,
but the world begins the working week in the middle of the night, the second day of the week.

God begins the months with the new moons, but this “little horn” has induced
the world to begin the months according to a clumsy man-made calendar of heathen origin.

God begins the year in the early spring, when new life is budding in nature everywhere,
but ancient heathen Rome caused the world to begin the year in the middle of dead winter.

God gave His children a true rest day, designed to keep them continually in the knowledge
and true worship of the true God—a memorial of God’s creation—the seventh day of the week.

But the “little horn” has fastened upon a deluded world the observance of the days on which
the pagans worshipped the sun, the first day of the week, called Sunday.

the understanding of God’s great plan of redemption, shown in His Holydays.
For these annual days picture the different epochs in the plan of spiritual creation,
mark the dispensations, and picture their meaning.
