Here's more information I have studied concerning the construction of Sukkot/Sukkoth/Booths

I'm taking it slow so everyone reading can digest it all before going on to something else.

All these attributes used for building Sukkot (dwellings/tabernacles) represent the fullness of Christ Jesus. Therefore, “The Feast of Tabernacles” are for us to have a deeper understanding of the character of our Lord and Savior.

“And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.” (Leviticus 23:40)

Boughs = reward
Goodly = is a type of citrus representing freshness within the dwelling. The vegetation of citrus fruit presents a sweet aroma of freshness under duress. This cleansing aroma is given by substantial words of enlightenment, and our Lord’s creative works continue for all mankind.
Branches = represent the hollow of a held out hand that feeds
Palm = erect and stable

“And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.” (Nehemiah 8:15)

Palm branches are in relation to “dates” = representing the church of Christ Jesus, i.e. His bride.
“And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” (John 1:16-17)

The terminology in between Leviticus seem to be conflicting to those in and Nehemiah. The reason for this seeming discrepancy are two fold.
1. two different locations
2. translations from Hebrew to Greek to English cause differences in descriptions. (Reason?) There was more than one person involved.

It is interesting to note that these dwellings were built on a “Sabbath Day.” Sabbaths are for or benefit, and a time set aside by God to observe His greatness and a time to do His work. Building these tabernacles was no easy task. It took sweat and hard labor.

“Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.” (Leviticus 23:39-40)

“And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” (Mark 2:27-28)

“For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” (Hebrews 4:10)

On the seventh day, God began instructing and leading Adam. Therefore as God continues in His rest, He establishes in us what He had foreordained even before the previous six days of creation began.

In another thread, the Feast Of Tabernacles has come up and I would like to explore this topic regarding the NT Covenant in Christ. I know others have some knowledge and understanding to share... so I thought we could catalogue it here.

**** This is my thread so I am going to specify... the intention is to have a DISCUSSION... so if anyone has "other" intentions, choose another thread or MAKE YOUR OWN!... thank you in advance for your cooperation*****

[SUP]16 [/SUP]And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, Holiness Unto The Lord; and the pots in the Lord's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts(Zechariah 14:16-21).

This is concerning the millennial reign of Christ.God will spare one sixth of the world that fought against Israel at the battle of Armageddon, and that will be the people that Jesus and the saints will rule over for 1000 years.

They have to go to Jerusalem every year to worship Jesus, and keep the feast of tabernacles, which the only reasoning I get from this is because they cannot be spiritual for they took the mark of the beast and went against Israel, but God spared them during the millennial reign of Christ, and since they cannot be spiritual they have to keep that physical feast of tabernacles to be right with God.

Which shows you how important the feast of tabernacles was in the Old Testament,so in spiritual meaning it would be very important to the saints, for if God required people that took the mark to keep the feast of tabernacles,it would be very important in the New Testament for the saints to keep it in a spiritual sense.

mpaper,
thank you, can you specify WHAT EXACTLY you mean "keep in a spiritual sense"? Please state clearly what that differentiation is... vs. literal meaning you have indicated for millenial reign jews?

I haven't seen this sequence of events in Bible prophecy. Do you have Scripture about 1/6 of the world being spared that took the 666 mark?

Revelation 14:9-11
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
[SUP]10 [/SUP]The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Ezekiel 39:1-9
1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord God; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:

I have always taken Ezekiel chapter 38-39 to be before the final battle of Armageddon. It appears to me that the battle of Armageddon is between the Jesus' armed forces of heaven and Satan's forces on earth with his (Satan's) army that have the mark of the beast.

Revelation 19:13-21
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
[SUP]18 [/SUP]That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Yes, the "Feast of Tabernacles" will be observed during the millennial reign of Christ, (Zechariah 14:16-19) but I doubt very seriously that anyone who received the "mark of the beast" during the "tribulation period" will be present to celebrate it.

Boughs in Leviticus and branches in Nehemiah are leaves obviously a covering or to cover.

The branches/boughs of thick trees are the highest branches of the tree in representation of the high priest that covers and bears the sins of the congregation by consuming the sacrifice. This is a representation (foreshadowing) of Christ Jesus, supreme, and above all.

Stand up and bless the Lord your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise. (Nehemiah 9:5b)

He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. (John 3:31)

Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. (Proverbs 10:12)

And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people. (Isaiah 51:16)

Goodly trees are the Olive branches bearing the fruit of the olive which is bright, yielding illuminating oil.

But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. (Hebrews 1:8-9)

When we properly represent our Father in heaven, we glorify the height of His character as supreme above all. We climb toward the top where we find the newest, and most tender covering possible. Understanding that He watches over us in love, we know that His divine plan has always been intact through these thousands of years of Biblical history. By understanding His perfect government, we are given the capability to be taught, and to take part in this everlasting covenant that He has promised to us who believe in Christ Jesus as the true Messiah, and Savior from a certain death. His words are nourishment to the soul, and our work is motivated by His gift of faith. We are responsible for our actions as His children to properly represent our Father, and His family, in truth, and in Spirit. He has made a way for us to see our depravity and rebellion, and be forgiven when we truthfully confess what we see in ourselves, as we look into this perfect law of liberty. We are convinced that our Savior, His heir, and Son will continue to consume this old nature as we continue denying, and dying to ourselves daily.

Related scriptures are Leviticus 5:5, Psalm 32:1-2, Romans 4:4-8, and 1 John 1:8-10, Psalm 50:14-15. “And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing: Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”

This is a very interesting thread and I am so happy to see that people can share ideas without the nastiness I have seen since I joined cc. At last - a place where edification is a priority!

Here is a small hint of what it is like to celebrate the "Feats of Tabernacles."

Wondering... for those who "participate" in Sukkot... what are the calendar dates used?

*Feast of Tabernacles, Sep. 28-Oct 4, 2015

*Last Great Day, Oct. 5, 2015

First Day of Sacred Year Apr. 9, 2016

*Passover Apr. 22, 2016

"And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain."

When the Bible says people will keep the Feast of Tabernacles after the great tribulation, it does not mean that they will be ritualistic and hold the ceremony. It means that the true believers will worship the Lord. They will have rain, meaning that the word of God will be there for them to flourish. It goes on to say that those who don't worship the Lord will not have the word (rain) to flourish and prosper. Notice that the terminology is to go up to Jerusalem. That means that in the spirit they are raised up in the inner man to be part of God's group of people. Notice that the Bible here in Zechariah 14 uses the word 'left' to describe those that remain in Christ after the great tribulation. This should be compared with Matthew 24 which mentions some being taken and others left. People have traditionally thought of the word 'taken' meaning taken up to be with the Lord. However, it actually seems to mean taken in judgment. Whereas, those that are 'left' are the one who are still in the Lord.

In much the same way that keeping the Sabbath does not mean going to church every Sunday or Saturday, but rather means to be saved by the Lord so that we rest in him while he does all the work of saving us, so also to keep the Feast of Tablernacles does not mean to keep a ritual, but rather to be in what it represents in its parable language of the gospel.

It means what it says

And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. Leviticus 23:40

Thick interlaced, entwined, and dense.
Willow interwoven, braid, branches to make baskets

This is to confirm the the Word of God cannot be separated from itself. If we cut away certain parts of scripture for other parts, our dwelling is not cohesive and is rendered weak. We then are exposed to the elements in difference with our Lord's desired protection for us. Our tabernacle is then constructed by our own devise, and not according to our Lord's direction.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3:6)

All scripture doesn't mean just part of it now because we are in the New Covenant times. It is clear that the New Covenant had been established by the time Paul wrote to Timothy. All Timothy had at the time Paul wrote to him was the Old Testament scriptures.

Brook, or river narrow valley, winter runoff, stream

For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. (Isaiah 66:12)

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: (John 7:38-39a)

We cannot be in two places at one time. Many would say we have several choices in this life but there are really only two. We can choose to be separated from the world’s values, and be secure within in the family of God, or we can choose the ways of the world and be separated from Christ Jesus “Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Galatians 1:4-5) Sooner or later, everyone will see the evils of sin by the light of Christ, for the Bible says in Romans 14:10b-12 “for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” We have been created to have a mind that understands redemption. Along with belonging to the family of God, comes the responsibility to work according to the original intent of His testimony. Even though the valleys of our own life can be quite lonely and scary, we know that spiritual rivers, shade, and flowers are found there, because Jesus is the Lilly of the valley who surely can relate with our burdens, and is able to bring us comfort through our trials. In 1 Peter 5:7 there is an exhortation to continue “casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” He is our Father and we are His children, interwoven together in love through Christ our Lord.

Related scriptures are 2 Corinthians 6:17-18, Ephesians 2:19, Psalm 19:7, Deuteronomy 6:5, Psalm 23:4, Song of Songs 2:1, and Isaiah 9:6-7. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” For He says to us; “I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.” Praise God Almighty “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”

"And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain."

show us where this is some pattern for your statement.
I can show you several where the righteous are taken and the wicked are dealt with afterwards

The moon and it's phases determine the Jewish Calendar.

So,you have to back up a few days before tabernacles to understand the portal the 3 feasts opens to the spiritual discerning believer.

Trumpets is first. (new moon)

Then day of atonement

Then booths (tabernacles)

Trumpets;
The
Mishnah contains the second known reference to Rosh Hashanah as the "day of judgment".[SUP][5][/SUP] In the Talmud tractate on Rosh Hashanah, it states that three books of account are opened on Rosh Hashanah, wherein the fate of the wicked, the righteous, and those of an intermediate class are recorded. The names of the righteous are immediately inscribed in thebook of life and they are sealed "to live." The intermediate class are allowed a respite of ten days, until Yom Kippur, to reflect, repent and become righteous;[SUP][6][/SUP] the wicked are "blotted out of the book of the living forever."

The above describes three important stages as the spiritual order of the Ten Days of Repentance (the ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur) unfolds: On Rosh Hashanah God "'opens' the 'books' of judgment" of creation and all mankind starting from each individual person, and in those books it is first "written" what will be decreed, hence the emphasis on the "ketivah" ("writing"). The "judgement" is then "pending" and prayers and repentance are required.

Yom kippur;
Yom Kippur is "the tenth day of [the] seventh month"[SUP][3][/SUP] (Tishrei) and is regarded as the "Sabbath of Sabbaths". Rosh Hashanah (referred to in theTorah as Yom Teruah) is the first day of that month according to the Hebrew calendar. On this day forgiveness of sins is also asked of God.
Yom Kippur completes the annual period known in Judaism as the High Holy Days or Yamim Nora'im ("Days of Awe") that commences with Rosh Hashanah.

Now Tabernacles;
The Hebrew word sukkōt is the plural of sukkah, "booth" or "tabernacle", which is a walled structure covered with s'chach (plant material such as overgrowth or palm leaves). The sukkah is intended as a reminiscence of the type of fragile dwellings in which, according to theTorah, the Israelites dwelt during their 40 years of travel in the desert after the Exodus from slavery in Egypt. Throughout the holiday, meals are eaten inside the sukkah and many people sleep there as well.

My God,if you can not see the pretrib rapture in these three feasts........................

The phrase "fragile dwellings" really stands out to me.... gonna think on that a bit...hmmm.

What are there now, something like 30,000 man made religions? Wow, the instructions of our Creator are so simple, yet explaining them away as if they are obsolete gets into a tangled mess of unrecognizable...babble.

This is our 2nd year for the Feasts, which are more accurately called appointments for rehearsals of good things to come. You're comment about fragile dwellings made me want to say, that was one of the many overwhelming realizations to me last year in our sukkah, ..how beautiful and fragrant the cut myrtle branches were at the start, how dry and withered at the last, and that caused me to carefully consider how short life is. How quickly it's over. How am I going to use my time? It's another thing I've learned..it's not really my time, it's His.

And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. Leviticus 23:40

And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written. (Nehemiah 8:15)

Mount = the hill country is Nehemiah’s promotion
This is an exhortation of Nehemiah to go to the hill country where rivers flowed between the hills in relationship to following the Spirit of God as the river runs to its final destination, sustaining life as is directed between its two banks, as it continues on.

Myrtle branches are usually an evergreen shrub up to 10 ft tall. Almost the entire plant has a fragrant spicy oil used in perfumes. The berries, though aromatic, are edible.
Myrtle leaves were foliage replacing the willows by the brook, yet could very will have the same attributes.

Israel has experienced complete disorder while in bondage in Egypt learning to hate their existence, seeming to have no future hope. As a last resort, they call out to God for deliverance and He answers because He loves them. Starting with Passover, God gives them a sign concerning the first born, as He looks for the blood on the doorposts. Israel begins to see the process of events promised to Abraham and believes it. Through the chaos of that first Passover, they begin their journey of freedom with haste, eating bread with no yeast because there was no time to allow it to rise, and arrive at a place called Succoth. God protects them as He provides a way for escape, leading them with fire, a cloud, and a wind to part the Red Sea.

After three days God provides Israel with water made fit to drink because of the tree.

Thirty days after the Passover was killed, Israel is provided with manna from heaven, and water from the Rock witin the time period that would become known as the “Feast of Weeks.”

On the Forty-eighth day from their exodus, the children of Israel arrive at Mount Sinai, receiving their first instructions recorded by Moses. Ten days later, God gives His “Ten Words” to Moses written on stone.

Through the next forty years Israel was consistently reminded of Passover, and the suffering their forefathers endured for most of the four hundred and thirty years they were in Egypt. They remembered victory by the undying love of God that encouraged them to worship with responsibility, adhering to God’s law, and all that had happened before reaching the Promised Land.

Now that they had arrived, they were required to govern themselves according to God’s commandments, and take care of the land that they had conquered. Planting, and harvesting would exemplify the spiritual completeness of God’s perfection, giving incentive to teach their children of these things for generations to come. Taking care of their livestock taught them the spiritual reality of a shepherd’s staff, the yoke of oxen to cultivate, and the binding of a sheaf of grain. Still, by the words of prophets, they would see their sinfulness, and the harsh judgments of God that promised to consume and destroy their sin, salvaging His own again and again. And at last, God sends His only begotten Son to put the last, and most important piece into place. The law and love of God continues to shed light on darkness, and giving promise of redemption, and rest. Jesus tells His followers that He is the Shepard that binds, yokes, and teaches with His rod and staff. He exhorts His disciples of their responsibility by the testimony He presents. He teaches of being united into the family of His Father that is not of this world, and calls Himself the door of entrance into the security for those who choose to enter in. He says of Himself that He has power against the weakness of man, the manifestation of sin, and the evils of Satan. And finally, at the end of the Old Testament, it is proven that He is the seed that continues, the heir of the Kingdom, and the firstborn Son of His own Father for deliverance, and salvation. He brings His own into a new birth, divided from the physical world, with new beginnings, and the spiritual process of events that continue as it was from the first Passover, not for Israel only this time, but for the whole world.

"Booths," are now a spiritual designation for us to see in retrospect, observing our present state by the commandment of succah/cukkah to God's miraculous protection of Israel during their forty-year sojourn through the desert en route to the Promised Land. This protection was not only furnished to the Israeli people while in the desert, but in His infinite kindness, God extended this protection by saying in Leviticus 19:34 that “the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.”

People are influenced by those actions that they do on a regular basis. Their thoughts are drawn to that which they do constantly, whether it is good or bad. By observing God’s instruction unto righteousness, we focus our thoughts toward that which is good, and we are to remember, and worship Him by conducting ourselves in an honest and righteous fashion.I think Paul had this in mind when he wrote in Philippians 4:8-9 saying; “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

For those celebrating Sukkot......

We had our Sukkot preparation meeting last night. We'll be camping out for 8 nights. We're going to have 4 more Bible Studies, 4 evening teachings, a worship night, movie night and evening Bible stury and a variety show (we don't use the word "talent" because there isn't always a lot of "talent" that shows up that evening.) We'll also have various family activities throughout the week , 4 community breakfasts and have community dinners each night.

What are you all doing for that week?

I am resurrecting this thread for further discussion and sharing in the same intent as the OP explains... As the time of the Feast is coming up.

There are so many that are not interested in this that it might be somewhat vain. I would say that whatever you are interested in to ask questions, one at a time, and see if there is any response. I am saddened that so may seem not to care, for this feast, and what it represents in a type of rehearsal for the millennial times of Jesus' reign. As you know I have defined (to the best of my ability) the spiritual concepts of the foliage, but there is much more spiritual understanding yet to be discussed about the offerings, the meaning of days, relationships to creation and God's chronology, and the amount of oil and flour used.

Leviticus 23:39-40
[SUP]39 [/SUP]Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
[SUP]40 [/SUP]And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.
[SUP]41 [/SUP]And ye shall keep it a feast unto the Lord seven days in the year. It shall be a statute *for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.

Obviously this is for Israel including the Jews.
Is The Feast of Tabernacles supposed to be observed physically? Not necessarily.
Is The Feast of Tabernacles supposed to be observed spiritually? Absolutely IMHO :)

Jeremiah 31:31–33
[SUP]31 [/SUP]Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that *I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
[SUP]32 [/SUP]Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
[SUP]33 [/SUP]But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. Romans 10:12
Sadly, the very passage you used to support your view shows God will make a new covenant with the house of Israel. Not like the one he made with the fathers.

Which would mean the covenant will not include all these things (spiritual or physical)
