In all reality, I'm not ready for one. I'm just becoming independent and learning the ropes of being an adult after being in college.

Life is good. If God's will for me is to marry, then so be it. If not, so be it.

I'd just rather do what He calls me to do.

It makes me glad to see this. So many lonely hearts waiting for "the one."

Thank you, Siberian. This is encouraging.

I know my desire is to be married and to raise a family one day. However, I am perfectly content in walking this journey with Jesus. Regardless of what the future holds...if it's marriage or not....my joy doesn't come from marriage but from Him. He makes my life worthwhile.

I am not less of a person because I don't have someone in my life, and I won't become more of a person because of someone who will enter my life. I am already whole.

I cannot base my joy and my happiness in the hands of others.

Because God told me to spend more time on Him.

I've done it all, i waited, i look around, i flirted, but guess what? All i got was a heartbreak, i got wordly men, who only wants me for my flesh, with that i leaved them instanstly, because i will not throw my beliefs and virtue, no matter how much i love the guy.

I learned my lessons...hard... it is a futile case to search for love, it will just give you a heartbreak, so as for me, i will continue my growth in Christ and if HE will give me a partner, thank u but if i will be single for Life, i trust HIM that He will take care of me.

Oh don't be so melodramatic. :p

There's always risk in carnal relationships. People are...difficult. But I believe there's always a ghost of a chance we can find someone to love and, hopefully, make it last.

I'm focusing on the many plans the Lord has for my life, and dating someone eventually is just one part of those plans. Seek HIS kingdom first! ;) I don't know what changes God wants to make in me. We're all different. But there is great work to be done. None of us are perfect. We all stumble in many ways (James 3:2) and we all have areas where we need to be more like Him. If I daily submit to His process, even in the pain, He will change me. The whole point of prayer is to grow in relationship with God. The more I talk to Him and listen, the more He shapes the conversation. As I grow closer to Him, my desires shift from what I want—what I think I need—to what He knows I need. His desires become MY desires. His Will, and not mine. I thank God for this opportunity to praise Him, to grow in my faith, to grow in my dependence on Him. Giving thanks for the things I most want Him to change. Often I have to pray for the grace to do that! But obedience has the benefit of producing good fruit!!

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

Bless.

Waiting for the right woman, one who I can marry, and not just fool around with. One who would be a good mother, and a smart, free thinker who knows right from wrong.

Your comments remind me of a lot of single Christian females I know, they are not getting any younger and still trotting out the "I am waiting for the right man" quotes.

Problem is Christians seem to think they are going to get this big arrow pointing down from the skies with "heres the one" written on it, they then go through whole of life thinking they are going to have some special supernatural experience when coming into contact with the right person, that they end up rejecting all the decent people God sends along to marry.

Jack, your comments, "One who would be a good mother" , seriously ? How will you know that? only way you will know that is if you marry someone who already has kids.

Many women spout out comments like "He has to be a real man of God", I mean what is that supposed to mean? Problem so many have this shopping list of things, both men and women I hasten to add, that only person who will meet the criteria is Christ.

I know I can make someone happy if they just give me the chance and see me for who I am, but they all want a super hunky Jesus instead.

I didn't mean it like that. It's not like I base my criteria on looks. I admit, that last one is a bit hard to tell, and I guess at some point, I might settle. But I just want someone I can trust. Who at the end of the day, I know we both love eachother.

I agree Agricola...

The truth is...we need to be content with ourselves in Christ first and foremost because if we aren't...we end up assuming that an individual or significant other will be the one that fulfills us or makes us complete...too many of us (myself included at one point) believe that God has this "soul mate" (stupid term) out there for us...our "soul mate" is Jesus Christ...not Jane Doe, John Smith or whoever...it's Jesus and we already have him! Putting that into perspective, means changing what we are "looking" for. Instead of someone who will "complete" you, look for someone who sees you through the eyes of Jesus and will want to walk with you drawing you both closer and into a more intimate relationship with Christ...a marriage is not a 2 person thing...a marriage is Jesus you and that significant other...
