... and Muslims claim theirs is a "peaceful religion," too. Anyone can say anything. The only thing yoga cures is ... uh ... is ... hmmm ...The Bible clearly states homosexuality is a sin, but if people can be cured of it by practising yoga,
then that's the best proof there's nothing evil about yoga. Either that, or we're in the End Times ...
Yoga means to yoke. To what is yoga seeking to yoke you to? It's not much to wonder at. One can even see in this article the subtle agenda that it's purpose is to proselytize the abominations and shame of India.
Be not troubled though. Anyone can be forgiven. You don't need to do yoga to stretch.

then pray for some common sense
Is a "bear crawl" or "crab walk" unacceptable, as well?

What's the history of the crab walk? How did this practice come about? Is it tied to false religions as a means of worship?
I dunno, but we learned these in elementary school gym class. Good workout.
Lol, I think you'll be okay with the crab walk don't worry. Remember, anyone can still stretch and exercise just fine without doing yoga.
and indians dont even believe that dream catchers trap evil spirits to hover around, they believe it catches bad dreams and nightmares from reaching the sleeper. it actually started out as basically a placebo effect because people were having nightmares
then i suggest all those who stand up on their toes and reach their arms to the sky and get a good stretch better stop, because you are practicing yoga
its the same!!! what you do with your heart and mind is what defiles you
Let me share a relevant story... when I was a teenager, I played Dungeons and Dragons. When I started hanging around Christians, I heard that D&D was dangerous. I rejected that idea, because my experience had been neutral. I wasn't playing anymore, but I couldn't see what was so wrong. Then one day after I became a Christian, I heard a preacher addressing D&D, and again I reacted. Then I paused and asked myself WHY was I reacting so strongly? I realized that there was indeed something wrong with D&D, not because my experience of it had been negative, but because something in me rose up and resisted the suggestion that it was wrong. I went forward at my church to address this with a prayer team, and have been free of it since, with no inclination to participate, or defend it, again.
It is not the same. Yoga very specifically has a purpose, and it ain't exercise. Apply the three questions about the crab walk to yoga.
What is the history of yoga? How did this practice come about? Is it tied to false religions as a means of worship?
Perhaps we Westerners could coin a new term for Western Yoga -- any ideas?
History of Yoga, as interpreted by PeacefulWarrior:
1. All I know about Yoga is that it involves breathing exercises and physical exercises (poses). During breathing exercises, some yoga groups practice meditation -- if you're a Christian I suppose you'll pray or recall scripture, if you're a Hindu I have no idea what you'll meditate on!
--So yoga, to me, is a peaceful exercise.
2. My aunt teaches a yoga class. My aunt is a Christian woman.
--People I trust, do 'yoga' (exercises).
