The collapse of currency, the grid shutting down, supermarkets raided, you know the speal. So, stock up on MRE's meals ready to eat) that last 25 years, buy a hand held water filtration device, more. You've seen the ads on the Internet and magazine.

Are you preparing like that? Are you scared? What should we be doing? Have you bought into this whole thing? or Are you going to let come whatever? Should we be worried.

I kind of feel the same way, I don't think that I would last long, someone would knock me in the noggin and take what I have. :]

I have my heart prepared but I need not worry about supplies God always takes care of his own and what we should be doin is seeking God with all of our hearts and being filled with his love and all of who he is because I have been saying that something major is coming and if our hearts are not prepared none of us will stand and I didn't think this because of all of the hype all over youtube and the internet but because something in my spirit told me so.

it is going to happen but as to how it going to happen or when I have no clue I only know it's huge and has to do with the end times, regardless of what happens or doesn't happen in the end I live the most amazing life of seeking God everyday so if it happens fine if not fine as well:)

By default, we are. But only because God took us out of middle-class, social-norm, Americana back at the beginning of the century. We're back to the ways my grandparents made it through the Great Depression:

1. Make do with what we have.

2. Economize on utilities and and bills. (The law says I have to have insurance for the car and house, but it doesn't say I have to pay high-end on them. I have to pay taxes, but I'm also responsible to get our rebate back.)

3. Grow stuff to cut down on cost of fresh produce. (It's possible to grow veggies and herbs but still have a pretty garden.)

4. Don't have a buy-it-because-I-want-it mentality.

5. Neighbors help neighbors. Wen I bake something, I pass some of it along to my neighbors. One neighbor had a lot of pumpkins for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I asked him if I could have them when they were done with them. He got a homemade pie from his pumpkins. We got a pie and pumpkin muffins. She got upset because our sidewalk was broken and she was afraid guests for her daughter's engagement block-party/serenade would get hurt. We had the concrete already to fix it, but we needed a day with little pain and no rain to do it. Another neighbor heard her yelling at us. He patched out sidewalk. He got homemade muffins. We got to hear the Italian version of a marinache band serenading the daughter in front of our house.

6. Consider walking instead of using the car. (We need gas about once a season.)

I don't buy into dystopian, except in a good novel, but it doesn't mean we aren't survivors already.

Well, yes, but not for the reasons stated in the OP.

I live where a significant earthquake (and subsequent tsunami) are overdue. Should those things happen, my area will be cut off from the outside world. I do keep a few months of supplies going so that should this happen, I'm being a good steward.

Personally, I am not afraid. If I die, I get to go home. But if I don't, I would like to be able to help people as well.

Not into it. My days are numbered, and I am not afraid to go. As others have posted, God will provide. When it is my time, it is my time. Why would I want to live with any more misery in this world than there already is?

Seriously, I don't understand what are you talking about!
Because I've never heard that in Canada or by my Mom etc...

ROMANS 1:17.
The just shall live by Faith.....

Faith is the most important commodity that we should 'stock-up' on!

the 'collapse of the house' is self-evident, for the foundation of not of God....

how many will go into virtual shock when the power is cut=off and the stores are empty???
we have already seen what 'katrina' caused, not to mention all of the looting and crime...
right in our 'back-yard'.....

preparing for the inevitable is certainly not wrong, but if the physical preparations out-weigh
the Spiritual Preparations, then, in the end it will not work.....
for Only God will lead us to a place of complete safety.....

Even on a totally secular level, I dont understand the whole gather up your supplies and fight to live thing :p I mean if society did collapse, what is there to fight for? You will be struggling to continue to struggle, haha. People will be coming to take you have stocked up on anyway, and if you havent stocked up, you will be wandering around looking for people to take from, and they arent gonna give it to you peacefully.

So the whole thing feels kinda pointless to me :p Id rather be one of the people killed when that horrible event happens, to be honest with you :p Life is not that important to me, haha.

Although, for people who take care of loved ones, the idea of seeing them struggle does sound terrible.

Fluid intake has the biggest effect on immediate survival. Our bodies tend to have several weeks worth of reserve energy from food stores, but lack of fluid causes problems with kidney function within a few days. When someone is no longer taking in any fluid, and if he or she is bedridden (and so needs little fluid) then this person may live as little as a few days or as long as a couple of weeks.

Where are you going to get your water?

I am not a fear-monger, but shouldn't the church discuss this.

Romans 8:5-6
king James version(KJV)

5.)For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6.)
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Has nothing to do with the subject.

Sounds carnal to me.
