It's official. I've lost all hope in humanity. Lord Jesus come quickly... :p

You know, it's actually kind of funny because I can predict bazaar outcomes to situations now and be exactly right. Not because I'm a "prophet" or something, but because I have become so accustomed to people's behavior and the nature of evil.

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

- 2 Timothy 3:1-7

Transposing or transcribing?

In other news, here is your "El-Paso-Culture-In-A-Nutshell" comment for the evening:

"You're 37? How you a 37-year old man and no kids?"
You figure out the answer, let me know eh? I'd like to know that one myself, for myself.

Transposing. :D When you're on the worship team you have to do that a lot. :p Someone ends up saying something like, "The key of C doesn't work, we'd be better off doing this in F#!" and then the fun begins! It only takes me like 10 seconds because I've been transposing songs since I was 13 but the rest of the team has to catch on.

It's so easy though. Most songs only use the 1sts, 4ths, 5ths, and (minor) 6ths (like if it's in the key of G - most worship songs just use G maj., C maj., D maj., E min.) of keys anyhow (and surprisingly the majority of the time IN THAT ORDER). So you just gotta know what those are for each key and the rest kind of fills in the blank for itself...but if you know your major scales then it's a cake walk.

But nobody else actually understands that, so when we change the key to a song, I usually am the one to tell the bassist what notes most likely need to be played, and tell the pianist what the chord progression is.

WOW that was a lot of unnecessary rambling. I'm tired. XD I have an open house tomorrow and I'm not even going to be there for it, I'm gonna be gone! ALL DAY! Blaaaaahh.

It should be fun, though.

You make a good point there. And at least it was....semi-educational rambling? I dunno if people could actually make heads or tails out of it.

But thank you! I shall. :D

What if this temporary world that we see around us is actually witnessing to the eternal reality within us?

I started going into the chat room a few days ago after a hiatus from it for months. But the only two rooms which are occupied are the Lounge and the Bible Study rooms. And those two rooms are chaotic, I don't stay long because it's hard to have a conversation. And I don't do the pm thing with folks I don't know. *sigh* :p

Seriously, "now" does not exist but for a nanosecond, like a vapor it's gone. Time is an illusion. We're either reflecting about the past or contemplating the future. But "right here, right now" is gone before you can even say those words. The only firm and invariable "now" is in the eternal equation.

I'm a music nerd (so don't let this give you the idea you were comprehensible... :p ) but I understood it perfectly. And good thing you can do that. Some people don't have the vocal range to just drop or rise an octave, and transposing to a different key is all they got left.

But really... F#? Why not just go to G and save the pianist a lot of trouble?
