I have MEPS next week.
I finally went out and talked to a navy recruiter.

I feel good about it.
And I want to better my life and do something greater/
Provide for my future husband if something happens to him/future children...etc..

You build the life you want to make.
And if you don't have people around to cheer you on, you meet them along the way.

Now let us see if I pass MEPS.
That's the only thing I'm concerned about really.
(laughs inside brain) . :D

...and then I find out, after trying to check but getting no answer...that 2 of the 4 people I'm cooking for won't eat what I was planning to make.

Nice to know three hours in advance.

New plan: catch one of the neighbor's chickens and set it on the table when people get here.
My mother had a favorite phrase around supper time. "I am not running a restaurant." Whether company was coming or it was just the family, she fixed a meal and we ate it. And it was good. If someone didn't like tomatoes he was free to avoid the dish that had tomato. But if we avoided all the dishes on the table we would go to bed hungry.

I would LOVE for someone to fix dinner for me. :) Alas, I must go wrap cheesecake and ponder what I am going to fix for myself for dinner. Probably something with cabbage, onion, beef and garlic. BUT WHAT?? ;)

But of course when I get home I'm hungry as heck and I'm too tired to make food. And of course I get a text saying my grandma had a heart attack. She'll be okay thank God. But this...is not...my week. I'm just waiting for one more thing to happen. When it does....ooooooh it's not gonna be pretty.

Why do people text that kind of news? I'm glad she'll be okay though :)

Artsie: Usually because of the commentary.

Ever seen the Gungirl 2 complete walkthrough on youtube? Sometimes I still say "Yay, money!" as a result of watching that.

Oh dear, so today was my first day out of school (last week on Thursday I was in the library the whole day.) Anyway, my mom told me that my godmother is coming to visit this weekend. So of course instead of relaxing on my day off, I spent all day cleaning the bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedrooms. I'm kind of a neat freak. I love cleaning but now I'm very tired.

And I have to be up early tomorrow.

According to the man, we're not moving back home until next year sometime. Meaning I have to deal with two of my in-laws for another 6-7 months.
I never thought I'd be the type to dislike my in-laws, and for the most part, I love my husband's family. The two I can't stand are his mom and his sister because they have absolutely no idea what personal space is. Not that they're in my face in the ways most people think when they hear "in your face". My sister-in-law calls my kids hers, and that's no Bueno (not to me anyway). My kids are MINE! I did the work to get them here, I do the work to keep them here. My mother-in-law has done that once, telling me that she had to show someone "her baby", almost a week after I had my son.
I can't begin to enumerate how many things my mother-in-law has done to get under my skin, not just doing whatever she darn well pleases with my brand new baby; but also undermining my place as the matriarch of my household. She might have raised my husband, but she has no place taking over my place as mom in MY house, or anywhere else really. I'm mom, if I need help, I'll ask for it.

Anyway.... My rant is over.
On a more positive note, I finally saw a little bit of me in my little boy today.

Have you been able to communicate the above with them? It's so easy to have difficult relationships with your in-laws. I hope you all can work through the stuff, because even a year with resentment is too long.

If you haven't incorporated apple cinnamon chex in an apple cinnamon cheesecake yet, I don't know what you've been doing over there. :p

*eyebrow raise*

Lynxie. I make all of the elements in my cheesecakes. Chex don't qualify.

The tongue burn is because I had a little of my Sriracha cheesecake, made with Ghost, Thai Bird, and Habeniero cheesecakes.

I'd totally try an apple-cinnamon cheesecake, though. Oooooooh there's so many ways this could go right. I'd experiment with that myself if I had the skill or equipment to make cheesecake with.

*Lynx sees the eyebrow and raises Olerica a toenail.

But seriously, I can understand that. But I didn't mean to sell... just to fiddle around with for oneself at home. It would be a tasty experiment.
