I would LOVE for someone to fix dinner for me. :) Alas, I must go wrap cheesecake and ponder what I am going to fix for myself for dinner. Probably something with cabbage, onion, beef and garlic. BUT WHAT?? ;)
so what did you make? What is the beef? A round steak? Do you have mushrooms as well? Shred and sautee the cabbage and use instead of noodles for a stroganoff.

Ground beef? I make a mean SOS. That is good over wedges of steamed cabbage.

Both are delicious and low-carb!

The filling for what my people called Runzas (or kraut burgers) Ground beef, onion, shredded cabbage, garlic, some buttah, a spice blend called "Spike". We used to wrap a few tbsp of the mix into bread dough, seal the seams and bake it... but now that I don't eat wheat (gf dough does not stretch that way) I just eat the filling plain.

I'll eat the same for lunch tomorrow with a vinegar and cucumber salad.

Dinner went fine. We had pizza. After getting 'no' to two different dinner ideas, I was done. And MIL and her boyfriend were too giddy to eat much anyway. He seemed nice...hope it works out.

I don't know why I get all stressed out over things. They almost always turn out totally fine.

So my school is obsessed with football and I got to thinking. Is it normal for people to not know anything about sports? I feel a little left out because I don't know even what a quarterback does or anything about other sports like baseball and basketball. This is coming from someone who was in pep squad throughout high school and lives in Texas (the football obsessed).

My brother loves the Spurs and he named his kitten Kawhi Leonard. I asked him what Mr. Leonard does and he said "small forward." I thought "oh right, small forward!" :p

I know nothing about sports. But then again, I wasn't the least bit athletic and I didn't see the point of them. Also, I was almost always the last person to be picked for team games. That kind of coloured my view of sports. And the fact that P.E. teachers would generally support the really good players and leave the less than good ones to fend for themselves. I tried really hard, but only ever really got a C, because I wasn't good at sports. Shouldn't attitude and participation count for something?

Oh, and I was tiny.

Don't Texans pretty much idolize it? From the pros (Cowboys and Texans) to college (University of Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, Texas A&M, Baylor) down to even the high school level?

I was always picked last. But I was the chubby kid who was always the slowest runner. I hated dodgeball  LOL I remember praying to God for rain so that they would cancel P.E.

Most people love sports here...I don't know why! For me, it's way too hot to be outside. I prefer to be inside, reading.

I was always picked last as well... and I hated it... so I ended up with swimming... that way I didn't have to go through that anymore... hahahahaha

I wasn't really good at that, but at least I was by myself and if I lost nobody would be mad at me... hehehehehe

I loved dodgeball. I was never the most athletic kid, but in high school I took volleyball and basketball as classes. I was decent, but never good enough to join some type of team. In college, I played intramural soccer.. Intramurals are like a type of club. they have them for your typical sports, but also for things like ultimate Frisbee. It's just something fun for the student body to do together. A lot don't count this as a sport, but I bowled competitively for 7-8 years before transferring to university. I was actually on the bowling team in high school, and we went undefeated my senior year and won states. I've actually wanted to pick it back up since graduating, but it took a while to find work. Now I have a job, I'm set to start grad school in seven weeks, and along with being heavily involved in church, I don't know if joining a bowling league would be the best idea, even though I do miss it. But I just love playing and watching sports in general, with my favorite to watch being football and favorite to actually participate in, bowling.

Well those emotions I don't admit to having are a jumbled mess. But on the bright side I somehow did manage to get everything (well everything important to me at least) into the suitcases without going over the check in weight. And all the breakables are pretty securely packed. Skyped mom this morning and she's literally counting down the days till I get home. I'm just kind of counting down my to do list so I get everything done.

I was thinking how cool it would be to throw you a surprise welcome home party, but then I remembered...introvert and aversion to being surrounded by people (you, I mean. Well, me too, but I meant you) and also, I'm not where ever home is anyway. So it wasn't really a particularly well thought out idea. But! Then I thought, well maybe we can just have a welcome home party ON CC for you, but I also thought it would be good to check with you first and find out when you'll even be home.

Anyway! If you want, I can just hush and pray for safe travels :D

I can stand to watch football, and I can even be excited when my husband's favorite teams win...but honestly, I never have any clue what the heck is going on at any given point.

During one game, and I don't have any idea who was playing...I said, "Oh gross, why did they pick THOSE colors?" And my husband...he just shook his head like he couldn't believe I was doing a fashion critique. WELL! They clashed...
