If you read that chapter all the way and not just that verse it is pretty clear who the unknown God is, since Paul makes Him known to them. God bless. The unknown God is the Christian God.

The Judeo-Christian God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.....
 
I've heard that the Greek pagans in their Pantheon of gods had a statue to the 'unknown god' just in case they missed one.
That way they had all their bases covered.
