You kind of skipped over a point in the question and so let me restate it. Must we maintain our salvation, besides the fact that we must continue to believe (which a believer will do)? If your answer is yes, how do you maintain it?
Let's continue. This is the answer to your last question.
We are to worship in spirit and truth. Next question, are we to maintain our salvation through obedience?

I will answer with scripture on this one. "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" Romans 6:16

I sincerely believe if the desire to be obedient to God isn't present in our heart, that salvation is not present either. Therefore it is confirmed in scripture that disobedience confirms sin unto death.

"Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams." 1 Samuel 15:22b

Would you care to answer my question now referencing to Paul's form of worship?

Next?

Let's continue. This is the answer to your last question.

So are you saying that we do maintain our salvation or that we do not maintain it? That is the question, lets not move past it, its very important. :)

Also, can you define what you mean by "Paul's form of worship" so that I can answer that question?

Paul said "follow me as I follow Christ" as Christ was the example that Paul was following.

Jesus being the perfect example in all things as he is the example of the father.

So? Paul was a Jew and worshipped the True God and believed the Law was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ...
Galatians 3:24-25 KJV
[24] Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. [25] But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
So after Paul's conversion, that led to his arrest, he worshiped believing all things that were written in the "schoolmaster." It's quite simple actually. Right?

Concerning maintenance of salvation. Paul's example is what we are to follow. So the way Paul worshiped is salvation being maintained by the indwelling spirit of God. The answer to my question then will give you the correct answer to your question. I believe as Paul concerning your question.

amen.

And is given through love and grace,

We love BECAUSE GOD LOVED US FIRST.

I do not obey Gods commands because the law tells me to. I obey Gods commands because I learned the law of love, And gods love flowing through me causes me to serve people. not take from people. and not to serve self.

the law of love, on these two commands HANG ALL THE LAW..

OH... but NOW you say you OBEY GOD'S COMMANDS!!!! Good grief... HOW DO YOU KNOW what the commands ARE if you didn't get some INSTRUCTION somewhere????

So then we don't maintain our salvation, that is in the hands of God? Reminds me of the verse that says Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith. :)

From what I gather with our discussion, you see the Law as having beneficial principles to live by. Everyone agrees, I would hope. The distinction that needs to be made is that of the Law having beneficial principles to live by and being required to do these principles. So my next question is this, must we obey all principles of the Law, or is it beneficial to do so, but we are not required to do so (such as not eating pork)?

Paul said "follow me as I follow Christ" as Christ was the example that Paul was following.

Jesus being the perfect example in all things as he is the example of the father.

so how did paul say as a means to not fulfill the lust of the flesh?

[SUP]16 [/SUP]I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. [SUP]18 [/SUP]But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

[SUP]22 [/SUP]But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [SUP]23 [/SUP]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. [SUP]24 [/SUP]And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Why do you refuse to answer the question. Your sidestepping it, No one can know what you mean by this answer,

Is yes and no with a reason why to much to ask?

Paul is referring to the promises of the Messiah and the resurrection from the dead...those were pointed to in the Law. Sometimes I think you just like watching yourself type. :)

How did Paul do that as an example to us? Please don't be evasive, for that will only deteriorate what is happening good between us. Now please respect my question to you as I have respected yours before we carry on.

Flash!!! Some 'Christians' still haven't heard that God's law/nature has been written on the heart of the regenerate!

I don't think Paul was picking and choosing only these certain things you mentioned in the law. "so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: Acts 24:14b

OH... but NOW you say you OBEY GOD'S COMMANDS!!!! Good grief... HOW DO YOU KNOW what the commands ARE if you didn't get some INSTRUCTION somewhere????

what does that have to do with the law. The law says do not do this or that. And do this or that (love God and others)

I already had the schoolmaster lead me to Christ if I am born again, so why do I need to keep hashing over the same commands I

1. Already agreed with (since I repented)
2. Already know

do we keep rehashing the same things over and over.

can the law which says do not covet make me not covet? How can it. All it does is say do not do this, it does not tell me how not to do it. So it is useless in all aspects of my life but one, To tell me I have coveted, and have been cursed by Gods law. and since I am cursed by Gods law. I am subject to Gods judgment, which is death.

How do I then not covet? By the law of moses, or the law of love.

The law of love says love your neighbor (agape love) which means your neighbors needs and wants are more important than yours. If I love Like God loved me, I praise God for giving my neighbor such great blessings, If I am doing this, I WOULD NEVER COVET WHAT HE HAS.

Oh, and this is not just my words but paul agrees with me

[SUP]14 [/SUP]For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Sorry, But as I have said 1000 times, th elaw will never help me stop coveting. All it can do is prove to me I am a sinner, well I already know that, and it lead me to christ, I do not need the law to keep condemning me, and tearing me down in fear. I have Gods grace to keep me moving forward.

as paul said.

Romans 8:15
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

OH... but NOW you say you OBEY GOD'S COMMANDS!!!! Good grief... HOW DO YOU KNOW what the commands ARE if you didn't get some INSTRUCTION somewhere????

oh and by the way, will you do us all a great big favor and show where I have ever said we do not have to obey Gods commands, it would be appreciated (since you made the accusation)

lol. You have not even answered him, He just interpreted what you said wrong, and you did not even call him out on it. Why is that?

Ok, have it your way, Paul was on trial for keeping the Law ...sheesh

Do what as an example? Worship? Follow Jesus? Again, I need you to explain clearly what you mean by "how Paul worshiped" from an earlier post. Remind me of your question and better yet, why don't you just make the point instead of dragging this on? lol :)

Also, please don't ignore the next question I posed. Repeated: Must we obey all principles of the Law, or is it beneficial to do so, but we are not required to do so (such as not eating pork)?

He gave us a mind to learn it. That's a substantial part of loving Him along with our heart and soul.

I call it born again, a flash flood...Romans 5:5 KJV[5] And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
..no Rabbis necessary.
