really? all they did was complain the whole time they were going to the promised land.even moses got mad. instead of talking to the rock he hit it with his staff. moses or none of them got into the promised land but roamed the desert eating manna. what a deal they got

that's RIGHT! they complained and murmered and spent forty years in the desert when the journey should have taken about 10 days.... WHY??? because God was displeased and ALLOWED the entire generation to DIE before getting to the bank of the Jordan... and even MOSES didn't get to enter the promised land for his final disobedience.

Where do you get none of them got into the promise land ???

The disobedient who went back to idol worship that did not come back to God when given the chance was destroyed as God commanded, as the Levite's were charged by God to carry this out.

Those who did return to God did get to enter in the promise land, and Moses was the only one who was not let to enter the promise land as that was his punishment for striking the rock.

So barlygurl with that answer to what they did with it , let's go back to question 1 why did God make the law?
Look at it as a cause and effect.

why does god expext humans to do what even he cant do? god is jealous. we cant be. god is boastfull. we cant be. god don't forgive without some kind of sacrifice. but we have to forgive. god even wished he never made man. how can an omnishant diety act so humane? hes always mad. and look what he did to job. u might say satan. but god said look at me most righteous servent job and satan said he wouldn't be if he wernt soo rich. so god and satan make some kind of bet that job wouldn't be so faithfull if u took certain things from him. so god says go ahead? I thought god was omnishant. and what should god care what satan thinks.so god gave satan permission to do everything to job but kill him

I hafta go to bed... this will need to wait until morning... But thank you for conversation.:)

What if I told you that observance to God's commandments from the Law in no way, shape or form could have the fruit of effecting our actions positively(and permanently) over the long term? What if following the Law actually stunted your sanctification, and actually works against you sinning less in your daily walk? What if I told you that observing the Law does not aid in sanctification? What if I told you the means to overcoming sin has nothing to do with observance to the Law but having to do with a renewal of your mind to who you now are in Jesus Christ?

So true.

If you set out to obey the Law, you would set out to observe it absolutely, because breaking the Law in place breaks the whole Law (James) And part of the Law obeying the Law is not only outwardly, but inwardly. "Love the Lord with ALL your mind..." So, taking this literally and out of context, I set out to do this... I almost went insane, or so it felt.

Because to harness total obedience by your mind, you constantly analyze what you think as well as what you say. You would have a snarky thought about someone, remember an offense of someone against you that you should have forgiven already, or have an unnecessarily critical thought of someone's action, petty annoyances, etc.

The Law magnifies sin, in that your sin because more apparent to you (Romans). Some people, it drives them into despair that they can't live holy... others who evaluate themselves poorly may feel validated by the Law, that they kept it and so they boast. For me, I broke down and prayed something like "If this is what it takes to be holy and pure, just let me die because I can't do it."

The Law is adversarial, in that it either praises or it condemns. You observe the Law long enough with the mindset that you either pleased God or failed to please God, may fall away realizing total obedience is an impossibility... or you may rebel against the faith because you think that is what it teaches, either by forgetting the grace taught or never fully understanding it in the first place. Or even worse, you may go out and make someone else twice a son of hell as yourself because you boast in it.

I'm sorry, I just don't see how you can have it both ways. God's grace is something you do absolutely nothing to achieve, but you keep that grace by taking the burden grace released from. Um, what?

Do unto others is a great summation of what the "Law" is for the believer.

Enlightened. You see things a little different than what there are....do you want me or someone to explain?

so your going to interpret the bible the way you see it. I know what the book means. I look at everything through my eyes. I ask myself, if I were god would I do that. I'm just a humane. but I know what is right and what is wrong. and I hold god to a higher standard then me. he is omnishant ,omnipotent, omnipresent.and benevalant. so what ever he says is good is good even if its to kill

if you eat lobster or any shell fish its an abomination unto god
you cant work on the Sabbath. and that's actually Saturday. the week starts on sunday
its the same as being gay. a sin is a sin. if u broke one commandment u broke em all

he created us inperfect and commands us to be perfect?

Salvation is not bought with or sustained by the obedience of man to a set of rules man crafted from his interpretation of a religious book. That's what I mean.

In my post, the person "you" is general.

why would god put a tree in a garden tell us not to eat the fruit when he knew we would. this is my point. and then he is outsmarted by a snake?

First, you need to get saved, then you need to keep silent until you get to know God.
