Had to go to my local yarn shop for batting to stuff the Christmas ornaments I am making and found new Yak Down Wool had just arrived!! The softest wool I had ever seen. Internal debate immediately began as I held the sweet beautiful hank of yarns in my hand. My yarn stash is not as impressive as some but certainly large enough to warrant a mild intervention by close friends. If I buy two I could simply adjust the monthly food budget to accommodate the purchase. I could simply watch the weekly sale ads and plan weekly meals around what is on sale and after two weeks it will pay for these beautiful pink and grey hanks. it's Yak Down!

Week, Honey. 200 a WEEK. About 65 a day. But I'm taking today off. I have a light day because I wanted to try to take this week off, just want to check stock and I've decided I'm just going to do what I planned and take a break.

IT HAS BEGUN.

One of the weirdest/awesomest things about living here, having moved from where there 4 seasons to where there is two is that it nearly feels the same year round. We have rain days which are chilly, and sun days which are nice, warm but not hot.

heh. my skin doesn't do that. I go from the tone of 'paper' to 'manila folder'I'd rather watch my skin change to tan.
I'm lucky I guess... getting dark is in my filipino blood. Maybe my dislike for rain and fall weather is too..

May have nothing to do with this thread but after seeing the yarn above, I've always wanted to learn how to crochet and go byond just making a long string.

My mother-in-law is getting married. To this guy we met. They've known each other less than a month.
I'm trying not to be all judgy about it...she says it feels right, he's the one, all that. And I mean, I don't really have any objections except that it seems fast, even if they're waiting til spring.
But...I'm also relieved. And happy for her. But relieved, because...she'll move to where he is, which is four hours away (not too close, not too far). I love her, but sometimes even the best in-laws are just a leeeeetle better when they're not here all. the. time.

There is someone who always manages to turn just about EVERY convo (no matter what it is) and make it about them and their looks. Full blown attention seeker. I want to tell her so bad but I'm not sure how to do it without hurting her feelings.
Maybe silence is best.
