Just got back from an employment agency. Nice lady, not too sure of herself on the computer, had to help her find my flash drive in the system. Ok...so my music video sample doesn't show on their system...since it's in DivX format. And I say that they'll need to download divx to watch. Stravinsk - think - they aren't going to do that. You need to convert the video yourself to another format that is easily read by Windows systems without them having to download anything.

Nice! Style? Instrument?
Main instrument is piano/keyboard.
Main style is rococo classical and baroque (yes, composing style). Although, I have written compositions in a number of other genres, including blues, progressive heavy metal, a tad bit of electronica, a smidgen of jazz and some popish type rock.

Main influence is baroque/classical. Main influence outside of this genre is symphonic or operatic metal.

Did with the former community I was part of. Publicly, small stuff, not large compositions. Privately with people I trusted, some of my larger works.

Heh, when I finally "come out" and share serious works under my real name - I think it will be fairly easy for a few people to figure out who I was. That's actually sort of scary, a few things considered.

Totally understandable. It would not take an exceptional effort to find me either. Such as it is to have a public-ish life

Thank you, Molly. You are a sweetheart.

This too shall pass.

Would you like us to pray for you?
Please pray for my dad if you would. Thanks.

What does this mean? Are you ok??
My dad's condition has gotten worst and I have little energy or patience left because I haven't had a day off or any real time to myself for the last 2 weeks or so, plus these past few days I've only gotten about 4 hours of sleep total for each day. My own health is going down the tube too because I have no time to workout and I am eating unhealthy food just to keep my sanity. I won't be suprised if I already am diabetic and have high blood pressure.

Oh honey, I'm sorry it's been so stressful and difficult. I wish I could insist that you be taken care of too. Praying...as ever

Well if it ain't baroque, don't fix it...

Ever fiddle with virtual instruments via computer? Yeah, I know, it's not exactly the same... but I can make soundtracks for singing songs with at church. And VSTHost is free. Though personally I use Reaper.

Yep. I've used Garritan Personal Orchestra, a variety of VSTi's, WaveEdit, WaveLab, Soundfonts, Cubase, Audacity and other programs.

Cakewalk was my main sequencer/note input medium...but the version of windows I'm using doesn't support the old CakeWalk program I have. So I had to learn MuseScore to score stuff for more than one instrument (didn't have the $$ to buy a newer CakeWalk Version).

Hmm...now this reminds me. Free sound, notation/sequencers and especially video editing for Linux? The video editor I'm currently using is AVIUtl (freeware).

Actually my go-to for music making is... is win... wind....... (I can believe I'm saying this) Windows! *pant pant pant* It just works, especially with the payware VSTi I use such as RealGuitar and Miles'tone Trumpet. No way to regedit in the license key for the trumpet anyway, with no registry.

But I hear good things about MuseScore for notation editing, and Pitivi is a video editor. No idea how good either of them are, but it's worth a look. LMMS I tinkered with for music making, but right now it's more like a tracker than a sequencer. Ardour is a better sequencer but it doesn't do VSTi.

Pitivi, a free and open source video editor for Linux

MuseScore is cross-platform so you can save your files in Linux and open them in Winblows. I mean Windoze. Ugh, Windows. (Maybe I HAVE been hanging around Linux chats too long...)

I just tripped over a book.

I may have too many books here.

Whoa... I'm sorry for saying such a silly thing!
